We have been drinking cow's milk to get more calcium or other nutrition, but recently I have been reading some articles saying cow's milk is bad for our health, whether the fresh milk or the milk powder. What do you think about this? Do you believe it's real? If we are not getting more calcium and nutrition from the cow's milk, where should we get them? Especially for the babies and kids, what should we give them to drink?

Where on Earth did you read that? I've been drinking milk my entire life and have always been told it's like the healthiest thing on the planet! I suppose in some countries it's not pasteurized properly, and I guess that could lead to some issues... but here it's perfectly healthy and full of necessary vitamins and nutrients.

Hi kats meow: i think exactly the same and i also would like to add that there is too much information about wether a product is good or not for you and these informations are generally not definitive as you can read on Pastorp's answer. If there's nothing wrong in the pasteurization problem i think milk should be good for almost everyone. Thanks for your answer. Hope you are having a nice day. Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays and Happy New Year. Take Care. -Alvaro.

Greetings kaka135, I would say only if one is allergic to it, or the cows have been eating too many chemicals. I have lived for over 50 years, and I have heard stuff like this before, sometimes based upon "science." Example, in the 1950s we heard eggs were good for you. Then in the late 1960's they were bad for you. Then, late 80's eggs were once again good for you -- in moderation. That might be the key there--in moderation. But I have heard so much foolishness like that over years that I just ignore it now.

I think it depends on how it is processed. For as long as it is done in the proper manner, there is nothing wrong about it and its good for health. Otherwise, it could not be approved for use and that we could have seen the bad effects by now considering that we have been using cow's milk for quite a time already.

Hello my friend kaka135 Ji, Cow's milk is the best after mother's milk. There may be some propoganda in your area to kill cows in future. We have been taking since ages and never harmed. It might be for it's powder as taht can e adultrated and may be harmful. Please take fresh cow milk without any hitch. May God bless You and have a great time.

Did the article indicate why? I think cow's milk is OK. Most of the commercial milk are made of this kind. But compared to human milk, ours is lot more better...the best for babies.

I have never heard anything bad about cow's milk unless it is not pasturized. Drinking raw cow's milk may contain harmful bacteria. That's all I've heard.

oh, this sounds like more of the horriblizing that certain groups get into to get rid of our domesticated animals. Like the vegans go on about how cows or sheep produce global warming gasses. if you can digest the milk and aren't allergic to it - go for it! There are many people that can't digest lactose - and that's cow or any other milk product. It is true that cow's milk isn't as good for us as some milks, but it isn't bad if you aren't allergic to bovine milks - I am allergic to cows milk, but have less problems with cheese and other forms of it. I am not allergic to goat milk, but have to admit that it sometimes has a "flavor." Mind you, to me cows milk also has a flavor that I don't care for, and it turns my stomach if I drink it. Drink it, enjoy it, and remember, these people have an agenda to make us all vegans, one scare at a time.

My question is, "If we don't get the milk from cows then from where do we get it...goats? Everyday they seem to come up with another"bad food" to add to the already long and over rated list of things we shouldn't eat. Remember when fish was supposed to be one of the healthiest things to eat? Well, then I heard fish wasn't good for you! I am starting to think that just about anything we eat COULD have some kind of negative influence on our health but, we cannot avoid everything, so I guess, I will take my chances. My children, myself, and mostly if not all, of my family members have been raised on and still drink cows milk and we seem to be fine.(Actually, some I think might be slightly insane, but I don't think that has anything to do with the milk!:) I wouldn't worry about it.

babies i know arent suppose to have cows milk (for what reason i cant remember) but i do think it has its pros and cons. for one they are shooting up the cows with so many hormones and its getting transferred into the milk we drink and then into us.. a lot of people are allergic or lactose intolerant which i think seems to be on the rise which i would attribute to them doing more and more to the cows.. its a good source of calcium but sometimes i dont know if its worth it

If you are lactate intolerant it is. People have been drinking milk for hundreds of years so I doubt it is really that bad for anyone. We used to get alot more exercize when we lived on farms and worked everyday. The amount of fat in milk didn't hurt us that much. Now it is a whole different story.

i think that the cow's milk have exist some problem at that moment, because many cows have raised with some chemistry and make them grow up quickly,so some chemistry is harmful to human's health.but i think that we give the babies and kids moderate milk to add the nutrition,at the same time,we should let them eat many nutritional food and keep balance of nutrition and let them grow up with healthy.

I have been drinking cow milk since I was a baby and I have to tell you that I am fine. I mean seriously they tell us not to eat sugar because its bad for you. Then two years later tell you to stop eating the sweet and low that they replaced it with. I mean come on people. Milk is milk - if it comes from a cow, a camel or a goat. Everything in moderation. Everything in moderation. I don't know my father who lived very well drank milk everyday of his life. What killed him was cigerettes. So don't stress over the cows milk.

Hi, kaka135. It is only bad for humans if they drink milk that has Artificial Growth Hormone in it. If it says that it does not then this may be the best type of milk to drink. I am assuming that baby milk will be tested and sterilized. This is how I feel about milk that we drink and the babies too. I will just give them the regular whole or 2% milk that has no Artificial Growth Hormones added to it.

I believe that there's no true, what i believe is it will harmful for us, if we eat or drinks raw, so boiling it before you drink is more safety If our kids and babies is under 5 years old, is better to give mother milk

absolutely not. milk is an important and basic food for human life, milk is full of good and healthly substances, i drink about 1 liter of milk every day and it's difficult for me do be ill or to damage my bones. it's an important surce of protein and calcium. but i drink fresh milk of cow, not powder or long conservation milk, first because i like it when its fresh, and second because i don't trust powder things.

Dear friend Happy New Year.... Yes, I also read some articles this like... But I am not sure about it.... Really we are humans, we can't live without some nutrition which are get from cow's milk... Instead of thinking that Cow milk is not good for health, we can try to avoid using chemicals made foods to Cow...

i am not a fan of milk. i have lactose intolerant stomach. when i was pregnant i take tablet replacement for milk. on my children, i've been looking for a soybean for my children, unfortunately i cannot find a soy bean so i dont have any choice than to feed them with bow's milk. as to calcium, i always feed them with vegies. so whatever is lacking in milk, i make sure that i supplement it with nutritious food.

i really offend this article , everyone knows that cow milk is very healthy for human beings , cow milk is even good from buffalos milk though goat milk is better than all but in case you don't have got then always consume cow's milk , it is good for human health and every doctor suggests to drink cow milk as it gives our body calcium and protein which always lack in our daily diet so don't worry drink cow's milk as it is very healthy , you can even ask your doctor about this
