OMG! how sick is this!!

Im just about sick of watching tv news right now so im putting up this discussion and then turning the station. Im watching CNN talk about a woman in Georgia forceing her 12 years old son to kill his beloved pet hamster with a hammer because he got bad grades
Now this is beyond child abuse Id say. something bad wrong with this woman. the boy told a teacher about it as he was very upset. He will likely have emotional problems the rest of his life over this. I know one of my bad memories is over my step dad killing my kitten and at least he didnt make me do it
Still I had nightmares over it for years. I just cant imagine this from a parent. what a monster. have you heard about it?

yes. me to. my step dad was bad enough but at least he didnt try to make me as sick as him. this woman doesnt know much about how serial murders are made. she may very well kill a person herself as they say these kind of people dont stop at animals. my step dad was rumored to have killed people.

well maybe i shouldnt smile about it, but i hated him for years. hes been gone 22yrs now but I did forgive him when he was dieing, even though he done worse things then that to me and my mom

There seem to be a lot of sick people in the world, and sick parents. About a year ago, some father forced his kids to kill their pet cat--all these kids are going to be traumatized for the rest of their lives because of this. Sorry to hear what your stepdad did to your kitten

yes believe it that is only one of the horrible things he did to me but when i got out of that house and married one of the first things i got was a kitten then more, then a (as one person said once) a menagerie of pets. my kids grew up with pets and i taught them from babes to love and be kind to animals. they all have pets in their own homes now that are loved and cared for well. i couldnt tell you how many we have all rescued

Wow. What an insane person. That's not the proper way to raise a child. She is instilling in him violence and cruelty to animals, and eventually, to other people. Its a good thing that she got arrested. And what i wished that the boy would've done is to suddenly run away from home with his hamster when she was asking him to kill it so that he never should have sacrificed that poor hamster's life. Did the hamster actually got killed?

This woman has obviously got a lot more going on other than this incident, and definitely needs to see a psychiatrist! Perhaps, she and her son should both go.
I'm in agreement with you that this could leave an indelible mark on the child's life, and who knows what may become of it?
As for the mother...she should have her son placed in a foster home, be heavily fined, and then incarcerated. With a behavior like that, she is a danger to her child, and it "could" lead to matters far worse than the life of a hamster.

For all you know, one day she just might have an argument with her next door neighbor, and hand her son a hammer, and ask him to "enforce" HER side of the issue.

I didn't hear about it until reading your letter. That woman is beyond sick, and should not be a mother. I hope child protective services step in a put that child in a home where he is safe and protected. Teaching that killing loved ones, even a pet, is a solution to anything is wrong. Leaving a troubled teen (because of her) in that situation may lead him to becoming a troubled adult. Who knows where that could go? I hope he was removed from that home?

My Mom once stepped on a baby Kitten by accident and has never liked them by her since that day.
But to do this to a child and to the poor Hamster leaves me without words to express what kind of a monster is that Woman to kill a creature for just a trivial thing?

This was a trauma for her and it got to be that way with Dogs too. I can understand what she went through as although I have never trod on anything accidentally as to yet.
It must be awful for anyone who has this happen to them.

That's just too distressing for words. The poor little boy and his hamster. How grizzly can you get? There was a headline here yesterday about a man receiving a gaol sentence for twisting the head off a kitten. I could not bring myself to open it and read it. These sort of people are worse than the most viscous of animals. Even animals act out of fear or hunger...these people don't have any excuse.
I just can't understand what sort of mother would do that. How is that going to make the little boys grades improve? If he took the hammer to her I wouldn't blame him.

I haven't heard of it until just now. That's just downright sick. There are other things you can take from a kid without making them do something that can damage them mentally. My son got his xbox taken away when he got bad grades and then it would have went down the line of things most important to him, but killing a pet? no way.

I didn't hear of this till now. That is horrendous. Forcing a child to abuse/kill a defenseless animal. What a monster. What in the world did he do in the first place? Now that there isn't an animal in the equasion, if he does something wrong again will she force him to harm himself or someone else? You are right in that she doesn't need to have children. That is just plain sick.
I'm glad he told someone.

No, i did not hear about this but you are right. There is difaNUTly something wrong with that mother. I was raised by my grandparents. We always had chicken and sunday fried chicken dinners, homemade chicken noodles. But we never witnessed the killing of them. We was never told that the same chickens we gathered eggs from were later in our freezer. The kept all that loveingly from us.

Hi bunny~ Yes, unfortunately I did here part of this on the
news, but not how she made him do it and now I feel even sicker!
What did they do to punish the mother? I hope that they took
this poor child away from her at least? Please tell me they
did! That poor little boy! How could she have been so cruel!
Not only is she sick, but she is twisted and a child abuser
and animal abuser! How dare she do something so horrible! Yes,

i just heard she got arrested. may have to check it out in a few days if we dont hear any more about it on news. sometimes though i try and keep away from the news for this very reason. things like this bring up awful memories even after 50 some yrs.

Bun, I sure hope she was arrested and will be in jail for a
long time! And I do hope that her poor little boy will be
taken away from her and never returned to her! I hope she suffers
forever like her son will! She has scarred him forever! She
deservers whatever punishment she gets! Please let me know if

No I have not hear about this it is sick. The woman needs to be charge with animal and child abuse. She should have taken some of the child's privileges away from him until his grades improved this was just cruel.

It is sad to see just how depraved people can be. What you report is truly an abomination. That woman should be jailed for animal cruelty and child abuse. How horrible that people would harm defenseless animals and children. These are the acts of cowards and vipers. They are a blot on humanity.

And I hope that she will have the boy taken from her, what she is doing is damaging a Child for the rest of his Life and also teaching him how to kill

What kind of parents who sent his son to kill his pet, if they did not care about the feelings of their children. I just heard this, and it is the wrong way because their children may not have the heart to kill the pet. There may be abnormalities in the mother's soul.

I haven't heard about that story until now. My first emotion was "Whata hell?"
I think that woman is having some really serious mental disorders. She must be left without parenting rights, because such person shouldn't be allowed to grow children.
