How often do you wash your floors?

I find this task to be terriable to complete especially in winter. I've got 3 lil kids who toss their stuff everywhere so it takes me all day I swear to pick up their things, dishes, crumbs, dishes, laundry ect. So by the time everything has been swept, washed & put away the day is almost over and I'm in no mood to fuss over washing the floors. Otherwise I spot clean and get the icky spots right away but I try to get to them done when I can. I hate dirty looking socks & feet too! How bout the rest of you?

Although I would like to be able to vacuum my floor in the living room every other day at the most and to mop the floors in the rest of the house on at least a weekly basis, it never seems to work out like that. I am lucky to be able to get the living room vaccumed once a week and the rest of the floors mopped once a month. It is definitely a constant battle to get the kids to pick up anything. As a matter of fact, I've just asked them several times to pick up in here and they are looking at me as if I am stupid.

Girl I could of wrote your post!!!! That look on their face like a deer in the headlights when you ask them to do something. Therefore I'm refusing to buy treats that come w/ wrappers if I can help it you know like fruit snacks, nutragrain bars ect.... they need to eat but they can pick up the wrappers. But I guess I'm not as consistant I I should be.

Yes everyone knows that! Labor is very cheap in India! It takes merely about 20$ to hire a servant for all works in India but that is not the case in your country! Also, they do most of the work for us! But, we have not hired a servant!

I'm not a fan of cleaning & my Mom & Granmother wasn't much of a cleaners either. So there goes one life skill I have to still work at that I wasn't really taught.

My mother cleans the house like 3 times a week. It's actually quite clean already. If I were to run the household, I think I would at most clean the floor once a week. I don't think there's much dirt in my house anyway when you always leave shoes outside of the house.

I can't leave our shoes outside. One it's about 24 degrees outside, snow & I'm not stepping into cold boots & we have a neighbor that may be swiping our things as our shovel is now missing.

depends on how dirty it is. i can get away with sweeping most of the time, but once in a while my family has a messy streak and it's unavoidable. this week i've been finding broken glass amazingly no one has a clue about..

Hi. 3SnuggleBunnies. I don't like dirty socks and feet either. I will usually mop my floor every week or every other week. We have no carpet nor any rugs in this apartment. So, when I mop I will have to mop 7 floors in this apartment. We have a three bedroom and it is not fun at all.

Do you mean mop the floor? I live in a hostel and there is a maid who cleans the floor everyday. But, she will mop the floor with water only once in a week, that is saturday. I have another girl who stays with me in the same room. We try to keep our room as best as we can. We don't leave any hair or dirt in the room. We deposit waste only in the waste basket.

I have always wanted to have a clean house. If time really permits, I would clean the floors every single day. But since there are 3 kids here, my niece's daughters, it is impossible to have them immaculately clean. My brother brought with him a mop that he bought from Germany wherein you can just attach an old rag at the end and clean your floors. That is what I do every time I clean the house.

As far as I am concerned, I usually wash my floors everyday when it is summer .At that time, the climate is so hot and is very suitable for wash the floors. But in winter, it is so cold to wash the floors. I hate the time like this to wash my floors. But I still need to wash my floors. Then I will choose to wash the in every three days.

I wash my floor everyday, cuz we just happen to live near a highway and there are lots of cars passing by and so much dust and dirt floating around that most of them came in inside our house and makes our house very dusty and I don't like my house to be dusty all the time and I'm also allergic to dust I wash my floor every morning every time I wake up. ^ ^

Um, never :) Actually we only have one hardwood floor - in the kitchen. The rest is carpet. So I always vacuum the kitchen when I vacuum the rest of the house and that gets rid of all the crumbs. Our vacuum works on all floors. If I see spots on the wood, I'll wipe them up when I see them. Overall it stays pretty clean that way. I do have intentions to wash it once every couple of weeks but honestly only get around to it every few months. When I do wash it, I use swiffer wet cloths and that makes it a lot easier than a sponge mop.

I don't have a lot of floors to wash. My kitchen is galley style, and very small. So is my bathroom. I wash my kitchen floor twice a week, and my bathroom floor about once a week. My bathroom floor stays cleaner longer. Of course if I'm in the kitchen and I spill something that is going to stick, or I drop something and I see where it landed, I'll pick it up, or clean it up.

I am assuming that you have tiled floors? Maybe not. My house is tiled throughout and I sadly do not have any children. The place is swept daily and the floors in the sitting room and kitchen are mopped daily. The bedrooms and bathroomsa are mopped weekly unlesst here are some unexpected spills. When my children were young I found it pointless to ask them to clean up their room etc. So I would set the kitchen timer for 5 mins and we would do it together. This made it into more of a game and they responded well to this. To ask them to tidy up - this made it very overwhelming and so direction is needed. For example tell them that you will pick up clothes and let them clear the floor of toys. They must get into the habit of putting a game away etc. after use. However I do not know the ages of your children. That spare room is now overwhelming for you to do too. So apply the same principle. Give yourself 15 mins only on the task and see what you can accomplish. Clear just a little section at a time or this too will become overwhelming. Be ruthless with the stuff you have taken out and dump what you can or put it into garbage bags to drop off for a charity etc. Give yourself a time limit maybe twice a day and you will be astonished at what you have accomplished. It may take you over a week but doing a little each day will give you a sense of getting somewhere with it all. Let us know how you are doing.

Hi, my room is very small, so it's not a big job for me, I will wash my floors everyday, because it's really a small room, so it's a easy job for me. Everyday when I go home, I begin to cook, and then I begin to clean my room, it only cost about 20 minutes to finish all. And because I do it everyday, so it's not dirty, easy to clean.

hi! I wash my floor every time it needs to be washed, because some times it gets dirty faster than usual and sometimes it gets dirty slower. and I am not the only one who wash it, me, my cousin and his girlfriend take turns every week, so that we all wash it and not just one of us
