When company comes over where do you gather?

We gather in the den, or in mine and my husband's room, sometimes even the room the computer is in. Or even the kitchen table! It all depends on whom the company is for, why they are there, and how long they will be staying! If it's for me or my hubby usually it's the kitchen, computer room, or our room. If it's for all of us it's the kitchen or den, sometimes even the livingroom.

usually the kitchen or the living room or outside the house like the front porch. we also have a small house, so when guests come over they pretty much occupy all the space. lol ^^

If the weather is nice, we sit in the back yard. Otherwise, we usually sit in the family room on the sofa. If there's food involved, there's the breakfast room or the dining room table.

The kitchen table sounds like a great place. As for me my house was built in 1974 and when you walk through the back door you are in the kitchen and then we have a big open space. I call it our den, but I think the proper name is the great room. So normally when I have company they will come through our back door which is located on the side of the house and they go directly to the great room. We do have a formal living room but no one really goes there.

Our peers gather in the living room in the house. I like to bring them here for it is so easy to talk and deal with them.Eat, drink and have some singing while having the enjoyment. My kitchen is so small that's why I will not bring there. They are comfortable sitting while their backs touch on the chair /foam too. Our kitchen cannot be sitted by many .It is a very cute area and limited for more persons.

George and I don't get many guests. When we do we gather in the dining/living room seeing how its open and there is very little distition between the two of them. Its a "large" one-bed apartment. And, its not bad as far as space goes not to bad for the two of us. And, as I said we don't have guests often so that's never really been much of an issue.

When company comes over we will gather all over. In the living room to watch tv and chat first. Then to the kitchen while cooking to continue chatting. Finally we will normally end up at either the living room or dining room table to eat and enjoy even more company. We'll go all over the place.

When we have company, the men tend to gather in the living room or out in the garage and the women either hang around their repsective men or hang out wiht me in the kitchen. Our house really isn't all that big, and we don't have too much room for a lot of people at one time, so when we do have people over, it tends to be a small group of friends or a few family members at a time.

Whenever we have people over we sit in our living room. Our house is really small and do not have enough room to seat people in our kitchen. Also my husband works on computers so he generally has at least one hooked up on our kitchen table.

For the most part people tend to congregate in our living room, but if it's warm out then we tend to spend more time outside on the deck. I was quite surprised to see that people hang out in the kitchen of our new house so much because it's quite small. Now that we have a bigger place it's nice because people can spread out more; one group can sit in the living room, another in the dining room, a big one in the rec room. It's nice to have so much space!

We always gather in the living room because there is more room for everyone. I have a very small kitchen table and it would be hard to have everyone there. When the weather gets warmer we usually set up our picnic table and set up chairs and sit outside. In the summer it gets warm at night and it is more comfortable. Our two female cats hide when company comes over and our male cat Smyles hangs around anyone who will give him attention. Smyles loves to jump into laps.

When my group of girl friends comes over, they usually come straight to my room. This is where we most often hang-out. We weren't used to our living room coz it's much more formal and stiff, and we want to be comfortable just laying around. They love my pink room because of the privacy, we can talk about anything and not worry someone lurking around might overhear. I also have my own tv set and dvd player in my room if we are in the mood to watch movies. My room is a certified hang-out place of my friends.

Usually we will gather in the living room because the couches are more comfortable to sit on. My kitchen can be kind of cramped by the table so it is roomier in the living room than at the kitchen table. The dining room table seems to formal, and anyway the table is usually covered in Avon orders. :D

Most of the time, we gather in the kitchen, but not at the table. I shortened my counters when I built the house (because I'm short) and for some reason people like to stand by the counters. They hold about 10 people...any more than that, we move to the living room or the "bar" :}

We have a couple of places where we gather when we have company...depending on the weather or what we're doing. Many times my husband and I are out on the deck where we have chairs as well as a table and chairs, so we often entertain out there. I like doing that because I like having a reason to light the tiki torches. We also entertain in the livingroom, especially if we're all watching a sports event, and sometimes we end up sitting around the table in the diningroom.

When my friends come to see me at my house we nearly always sit in the kitchen and have a chat at the worktop as there it is alot easier as there are always other people in the living room trying to watch as well as hear the tv.I think being in the kitchen is a lot easier as that is where you are always the drinks and snacks are.If it is a person that rarely comes round then we will sit in the living room to make them feel more comfortable.
