Black cats

I hate people that believe that black cats bring bag luck. Most of these cats are injured or killed for no reason at all. I own a black cat and I doesn't cause me any problem [except it eats more than a dog and soon it will turn in a huge ball].
The only black cat superstition I've heard of was that it crosses right before you ; stepping on the tracks might cause some major bad luck.
What superstitions do you know about cats?

As others have said, here in England black cats are considered lucky so they are popular and soon get picked at shelters. You can also buy good luck charms that are black cats.

no, i don't own a black cat but we feed cats here in my home, they are just street cats. but i don't believe in those beliefs that black cats bring bad luck, nope, i really don't. it's not the cat's fault if its color is black. they are still animals that need love and care by humans.

Yes I think you are right. But I was talking about people too. There will always be a "smart guy" that believes in fairy tales.
Wow 14 years. Most of my cats did not lasted so long . They just vanish in thin air...Since I only keep pets at the country-side house that is pretty weird too. I'm sorry for your cat.

i have 2 black cats,one fat cat called Hugo and one skinny cat called Wiskas,and there are no problems with them,and they are certainly not bad luck

I have 1 black cat named Salem. No bad luck here. He is your typical black cat for his breed. But he is a sweetie though, when he what's the attention lol

I always loved black cats. When I ws a kid my cat pets always had to be little blackies without a jot of white. I thought of them as being lucky and they were fairly common back then. Now, we almost never see an entirely black cat. I read someplace they are still quite common but you sure couldn't prove it in my area. They are hens-tooth rare here. That's okay because I'm now crazy about striped cats with white tuxedos, thanks to my pal Humphrey (my avatar cat).

Black cats are lucky here, and even better when they cross your path. I love all cats, and have never considered a black cat to be unlucky at all. I used to have a black cat called Gipsy, mainly because she was a wanderer.

I don't believe that black cats will bring anybody bad luck. I don't like people to think so because it is nothing to do with black cats. It is really not fair for black cats because they are as well as other cats.

I also hate people who believe that black cats bring bad luck. We think the same. I want to own a black cat someday. I actually believe black cats bring good luck to me. I don't believe any negative superstitions about black cats.

Yes i also think that is just stupid old thing. For me not cats, or dogs or something else is bringing the bad luck to some people sometimes there is something that have to happen and no matter of all animals and other things with us this thing is going to happen.
