Do you wear make up everyday?

I know that in other countries like in the US, it's normal for girls to wear some make up everyday. What do you think about this? Do you think it's bad? I don't really wear make up everyday. When I go out, I just put on some eyeliner if I feel like it. I just wear foundation, eyeshadow, blush, etc. if there's an important occasion like a ball or a party. I think wearing a lot of make up is bad, especially if you wear it everyday. It can be harmful to the skin, especially because the face is very sensitive. Make up can cause pimples and other kinds of blemishes. So, what's your opinion about this? How about you, do you wear make up everyday?

I think its true that it is harmful for the skin, MAybe of the chemicals that some products have in it. And the more you wear make up, the more you look old. But anyways as a woman, I think its part of us. To look good and feel good, as long as we dont apply something too much. I use foundation and lipstick only everyday at work. Its because I'm kind of pale and my skin is oily. But when Im off at home, I dont apply anything. I let my skin breathe for a while.

Yes, chemicals are really harmful to the skin. But there are mineral make ups which are available that won't really hurt your face. Lol. And yes, I think it's one of the perks of being a woman, too. We should just use it in moderation, and find the right make up for our skin. :)

I don't wear make up every day, I only wear light makeup (moisturizer, face powder and lipstick) when go out. I will not wear make up if stay at home, I need to make my face relaxing and free from that chemical on cosmetic. I am really good in wearing a make up, If I had to go to formal party I will ask expert to do make up and hair do. They will make feel beautiful and dazzling.

I don't really wear moisturizer because I don't know if it would be suitable for my face. I have oily skin, so I think a moisturizer will just make my skin more oily looking. So I just go for loose or face powder. It really depends upon the skin type.

Hi Jeeyah, I never use to like applying make-up. But things have changed after my marriage. I can do a good job now with my make-up whenever I am socializing. Talking about doing make-up everyday, yes i do apply a kajal and a lip gloss. Thanks and Regards, Prerna Seth. P.S. - THANKS FOR ADDING ME AS YOUR FRIEND.

It's good that you can apply make up better now. It's really helpful in acquainting with others, though not advisable with everyday wear. :) If you don't mind me asking, what's a kajal? :)

Kajal is a traditional indian makeup which is worn under the eyelid. It is similar to a kohl pencil available in the market.

hi jeeyah there is nothing wrong with wearing some makeup and with being from the US. we are like most people after all. I wear lipstick and some light eye shadow and thatsit so yes i do do it every day as I want to look pretty and feel self confident. after all at 83 you have to present yourself better than most as so many people think at that age you are definitely ga ga or bonkers or loony tune, whatever the term for senile. its not so folks but if you look good, and feel good and sound intelligent that really does help.

hi jeeyah someone once told me this and I know its true the best makeup is when you do not look like you are wearing any at all. and thats so true. I hate to see elderly women my age who put so much rouge on their cheeks that they look like they are burned there or have some horrible skin disease.

Haha, it's good that you're not like that. :) I'm sure you're still pretty even without the makeup or without those strong colors. ;D

Hi, I didn't say that there's something wrong with being in the US. I was just using people there as an example. :) And I also never said that wearing some make up is wrong, what I pointed out is wearing a lot of it too often. A little make up is fine just to highlight your natural beauty and assets, so yea. :)

I threw away all my makeup about 15-20 years ago. I only used eyemakeup & a little blush even then. I have actually discovered that lip gloss is actually better than lipchap in the cold winter months. I have always have very clear skin. I wonder sometimes if makeup actually causes skin problems. I think if females are confident with their apearence they dont need to be all painted up. I cannot and never could stand they feel of that foundation stuff. Its like a painted on mask. Gives me the creeps just thinking about it.

Hi Jeeyah, Yes i do. Light make up for work. We need to wear light make up and not look pale. we deal with clients and it's only right that we are presentable in dealing with them.

it's a preference for us to use light or heavy make up. it depends on the employees personality. most of the time a lipstick is fine. and just put on some powder. you already look presentable.

I understand that some companies require their employees to wear make up. It's good thought that they let you wear just light make up.

I have a ton of makeup, but I rarely wear it. I keep buying it, and only use it once or twice.

Same here! For some reason, I like buying and seeing make up, but I don't really use it that much.

I don't wear make up everyday. I have never been used to it. When I was working at the bank it was necessary so I would wear it but I try to use light colors. I'm not the type who would wear dark lipsticks or foreshadows. However, I don't agree that it can cause pimples. I never had pimples because of make-ups. Even my friends who are using make-ups everyday they didn't had any complain about pimples. After the day, it is very important to clean your face. You can't simply sleep with make up on because In that case you'll have pimples. In the evening your skin can rest too so you have to wash it and remove the make up. To avoid pimples even if you wear make up just follow the three steps. Cleanse your face with water and soap or any face solution that you are used to. Part of cleansing to is to use make up remover to clean the eyes thoroughly. Then apply toner. Last step will be moisturizing. These 3 are necessary even if you don't really wear make up. Brand of make ups are a must to watch too. Some brands might cause you allergies or pimples so you have to know to which brand you are more comfortable without harsh effects.

YES I DO wear it nearly every day because it makes me feel better about myself but i do not wear alot and i apply it very nicely. it just enhances my natural features. i do not wear bright unnatural colors because i feel they make you look overmade up. so natural looking works best for me. like a natural glow.

If it makes you feel better, then that's good, as long as you don't go over the top with the application. Make up with natural shades are always the best to go.

If I am going out of the house I do put makeup on. I do not wear alot of it, just foundation and blush. I can not wear any type of eye makeup it causes my eyes to itch and get goup in them. I seldom wear lipstick, I just don't care for the way it makes my lips feel. If I know I will be in the sun, I try to put something on them with sunscreen in it to prevent burning.

I think a tolerable amount of foundation and blush is also okay to wear if you're going to go out of the house. It will just emphasize your natural beauty, as long as it's not over the top. I don't like wearing lipstick, too. I just put on a lip balm or something if I feel like it's chapping too much.

I do wear make-up but I don't use very heavy ones like foundation. I keep it very simple - powder, eyeliner and lipstick.

That's good to know that you keep it light and simple. Too much of anything is never good. I'm not a big fan of foundation, either. I just use it when there's an occasion.

Not really. I believe "LESS IS MORE." I opt for the "no makeup" look. I think a girl is more beautiful without too much make up on. That way, you really could see her features. I admire people who have "natural beauty", not too made up. I only use lip gloss and a little cheek tint when I go out. I only wear make up for special occasions or when it is really needed.

I dont like putting much make up. I only wear sunblock to protect my skin from uv rays then i put powder. Its alright wearing make up but not everyday. Our skin need to breathe too. Too much chemicals can really damage our skin. Natural beauty is really the best.

I wear some when I go out shopping or doing my Avon business. I've learned a lot about skin care since joining. I did start wearing makeup about 12 or so.

not necessary for ordinary days, i only wear make-up if there's an occassion and if i need to look presentable or if there is an appointment. But sometimes my manager requires me to wear make-up so that i will look presentable in the public.

The only make-up I use is lip-gloss. I use eyeliner only if there is some occasion. I don't like wearing makeup. I feel self conscious and I also think it does more harm in the long run than anything else. I think natural look is the way to go.

Yes, you're right. Wearing cosmetics everyday actually damages our very sensitive face, and could even cause more skin problems like wrinkles, pimples, etc.

It is not only that it is bad but it is a pointless thing to do.Men won't like you more if they can't even kiss you because of the powder on your face.I try to be natural and I see people appreciate it!!!

That's absolutely right! Although make up can be helpful to highlight your face's best assets, too much of it and wearing everyday isn't really nice. Natural beauty is still the best. No pretensions, and people will see you as how you really are.

If you consider lip gloss as a make up (like I do) then yes I wear make up everyday, but most of the days its just lip gloss and not any other thing.

Yes, i put on make-up everyday .... it is just a light make-up... I use mineral foundation, lipgloss, eyebrow liner then peach blush... I need to be presentable at work .... light make-up is easy to remove with water and facial wash..
