Making a schedule of your posting day at myLot?

When you determine what you are going to do at myLot do you either make a strict schedule, a routine that you are going to follow posting on this website regardless or do you just go with the flow and post at your leisure. I find that I am somewhere in the middle of these two things. I have a pretty good idea of what I want to accomplish but at the same time, I allow for plenty of flexibility. What about you? How rigidly planned is your routine at myLot on a day to day basis? Looking forward to reading your responses.

I really just post at leisure. Basically, I only comment on the posts where I have something relevant to say or that catch my interest. If I can't find any posts that are like that then I just won't post and I'll come back to mylot later in the day to see if there's anything more interesting that I can find. Sometimes it's hard to find discussions that I want to be a part of. That's why I don't think I could ever have a rigid schedule for places like mylot because I participate best when I enjoy it, so forcing myself to comment or whatever just wouldn't work all that well and I wouldn't want to actually do mylot every day like I do.

Yes, I find myself having to step away, because it seems too much like work every now and again. That is never the impression you want to make for something like this. Maybe for a couple of hours or even at the most extreme cases, a day or two. Then I return, ready to go and ready to resume. Burnout can be an ugly thing and after a while, nothing can be interesting. Thank you for your response, it was much appreciated and contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day.

I"m not that organized. If I have something on my mind, I post a discussion. Otherwise, I try and go through all my e-mails and respond to the discussions that are interesting. If I get through all of them, I pop around the 'top' and 'hot' tabs and see if there's anything interesting or I go and resolve some of my old discussions.

Yeah, that seems like a pretty good system. There is really need to overcomplicated things. After all, keep it simple and all of that. After all, there is always such a thing as being too organized as well. As in spending more time getting organized then trying to accomplish the task at hand. Thank you for your response, it was much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day!

Hi Megamatt! While I used to go "soak" in MyLot for hours on end, I realized that I needed to do ACTUAL work. So I had to find a way to discipline myself to put MyLot in its right place. Nowadays I make a quota of only 10 posts every day, so that I won't get distracted from REAL work. Heheh. :D Most of the time I prefer responding to responses on my own discussion threads. Then there are days when I go for responding to interesting threads. :) It depends on what I get to think of doing. :) See you around!

Disciple is the key sometimes. I mean, it is very, very easy to spend hours upon hours on end. Those hours turn into days and you get the picture from there. We wonder where our lives has gone. I have been picking how much time I spent very carefully but there sometimes is that, "just one more post" that turns into about a dozen or so more posts. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day!

hi megamatt I just sort of go along and post responses and sometimes go b ack to comment on responses to my own discussions, sometimes I comment on comments, then respond to friends discussions, so I have no set pattern except I will spend a few hours doing one or the other and finishing that then going to the other that I did not do before. No real set pattern. I have to be flexible as sure as shooting I w ill be in the middle of a response and be called to a meal, and if I do not go all hell breaks loose why are you late blah blah blah. oh nothing like being in a retirement center, oh so much fun not.besides I dislike rigidity here as I want to relax on mylot and get away from having to be here at all in this institution for retired people . not my choice but ending up homeless made it mandatory or live on the damned streets.

I really believe you cannot get anywhere without strict discipline, but you have to look at what you are trying to accomplish while trying to make a living writing online.

Very, very, true, myLot can make us forget all of the harsh things that happen to us. I mean, there are times where I just sat down after a bad day and there was some conversation at myLot that lifted my experiences. Sorry to hear about your situation, hopefully things will improve. At least you have this website to help distract you. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic. Have a nice day and thanks.

Mylot has become more of a passion to me. Before it used to be just a part of my everyday routine. After I take my wife to work, when I get home I would sit infront of my laptop for hours mylotting and performing some of my take home work. But now, even though it has fallen into a routine, I feel that my day is not complete without logging into mylot and responding to several discussions. I am clearly passionate about it. Always eager to leave the house so I can take my wife to work, so when I get back.... it's all Mylot and Me. LOLZ!

Haha, I can sooo relate! However, just MyLot and you?! Onoez! Don't let MyLot get in between your marriage! First time I've ever thought about it: MyLot as grounds for divorce... Scary! Hehehe! Happy MyLotting, Melloncollie!

Ha, that is interesting. I think the scariest part is that there are many people like that out there. I mean there has to be, maybe not with myLot but perhaps with another website. Where they cannot wait until they have the house to themselves, so they can spend some quality time with the website. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated. It contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks!

nenyalorien -- you betcha! that's ultimately the reason why i started staying away from the "relationships" interest. after my wife read some of my responses ... phew... you wouldn't believe what happened. so i guess, i would devote my time with the "mylot interest" and stay away from those that would tick off my wife. megamatt -- thank you so much... don't we all just love mylot. yay! passionate about mylotting... but of course nothing compare to the "hots" i get for my wife... LOLZ ... now i'm playing safe.. hey wifey.. see... i am more passionate about you... no reason to smack me in the head again! love-love-love... jeez... what a wuss i have become!

True, if it is interesting, I am bound to get to it. Perhaps sooner rather than later. Still, I do have this idea where I want to go. I think there are many people that are like this. Thank you for your response, it was much appreciated and contributed to the topic. Have a nice day!

I have always seen myLot as a leisure activity for me. It was never rigidity, only flexibility. But there was something I wanted this month - I want to reach payout before the end of the month. I was a few dollars away from payout and it was that way for a few months, almost a year. In fact, my last payment was in Jan 2009. So I thought it would be great to get to payout this month. So I have been posting a lot these few days and hope to rest by today if I do reach payout.

I am not really on a schedule per se, as I mostly just respond to discussions, or if I have stared one and I get responses ot it, then I will comment back. I only come in here when I have the time, and not doing anything else as lately, it seems like things have been coming up and I can;t be in here like I want to be, but I do make up for it though most days. I have to run errands and such, so I will get them done, and then come in here when I get home. I also have yard work to do, so I will end up doing that as well, weather permitting. I think it is better when I am not on a schedule as I would never be able to keep it when I have other things to do. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Yeah, I hear you. I try and make a plan of what I want to do but at the same time, I am not too detail oriented. I mean, I do not go, I am going to respond in a certain area for such and such a time. Just got to find the time. Some days that time is not as much as we would like I am sure. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day.

Hi,there.I never make a schedule of my posting day at mylot.Actually,I come here as long as I have time. And sometimes I feel it's difficult to give a response cause I didn't find a post that I am interested ,then I will log out.So I don't think a plan works my way.

I don't really schedule my posting activities here. I only respond to discussions if I have more time sitting at home and not doing anything. Sometimes there are lazy days that I just want to play on games and not discuss anything.

Very good, there are days like that for me. Just got to see where the day leads me. I might not want to muster up the mental ability to string together a few sentences into a post. After all, there are just certain things that cannot really be forced. Thank you for your response it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic. Have a nice day!

Yeah, lazy days are not really enjoyable, I'd rather sleep all day than get busy online. lol!
