cRAZY DOG, SHE THINKS ANYTHING THAT LANDS ON THE FLOOR BELONGS TO HER.. eVERY MORNING I HAVE TO TAKE ABOUT 14 DIFFERENT PILLS. wHAT i do i get them all out in a pile & swallow as many at a time as i can. This morning i was doing that & dropped one & the darn dog gobbled it up before i could pick it up. Since i had them all out in a pile i didn't know which one i dropped. So not only did i miss one of my meds she got something she didn't need.. Don't guess it hurt her she's lying over here snoring. Have u ever had this happen to u ?

I do not think I have ever had anything like that happen. I hope the dog continues to be alright, and I am sure you will let us know. How about you, are you alright? It may be a long day.

If you want to give a cat a pill, have lots of bandaids handy. A cat would never automatically swallow a pill! Dogs (some of them anyway) are sort of like walking vacuum cleaners.

No....but when I had my dog we went to visit my folks. Well we were playing cards and heard something funny. Here Reggie had gotten a hold of my dad's hearing aid and was playing with it....we are so lucky he didn't swallow it or something...very expensive to replace!

OMGOSH JILL, that would have been awful. Hearing aids are very expensive from what i have heard. I had some customers that wore them. A few times i would have to tell them to take them out when i went to wash their hair. Thank heavens i noticed them before i drowned them. What kind of cards do y'all play. I use to love to play rook. I have never been to our senior citzens plave but i hear they play rook there. wHEN I GET OLD ENOUGH I MIGHT GO, LOL.

Its a good thing it didnt hurt her. I dont take pills so that has never happen to me. I did have something really funny happen yesterday though. Every morning i have a fruit smoothie. Normally i use a little soy milk as the liquid. Yesterday i added coffee instead of soy milk. Every morning Bubba Kat has to take a few licks off the top. Sounds gross but i figure they are house cats so they are not gonna make me sick. I think he stops because he is getting brain freeze. Anyway, a few minutes after his few licks of my caffene smoothie and he is darting around the room like he has lost his mind and pauseing to meow loudly. That lasted a good 15 minutes before he settled down. Lol, it was so funny. i dont believe Bubba needs anymore caffeene.

I don't have dogs and the cats just play with it. Our pet rabbits I am not so sure about. They would probley eat it, Patches eats every thing, he seems to think if it is on the floor it is his! Blackie is much pickier about what he eats. Glad your dog is ok!!! You too.

Yes but I got there in time and saved the pill. You might want to shut your dog away from where you take your pills, many pills that we take can kill or at least cause damage to you dog.

First, I was always worried about the kids finding a pill if my hubby dropped his (he takes many a day) Now they are older and I worry about the dog. I always make my hubby find it when it happens. My dog would do the same thing yours did if he found it! He eats anything! I hope your dog is going to be ok! Some friends recently had a dog eat some rat poison. They saw it happen and instantly poured some salt down the dog's throat and he puked it all right back out! Not sure I would have thought of that. Not sure that the salt would be great for him either. But I suppose it's ok since he barfed it all back out too! Have you checked with you vet? Take care, Jo!

Glad your friend's dog was o.k. Tell james to be more careful, lol i'm going to be. Thanks for respoding, heidi. It'ss been a long time since u did. Happy mother's day.

I have to line up all my meds too before I take them or else I will miss one or take the wrong dosage! But no, I have ever had a pet swallow them. It doesn't seem to have done her any harm but just watch her. She probably thought that it was candy

our little chiuauah will chew and eat any crayons dropped on the floor so we have to be careful and pick them up right away. He especially loves any reddish color ones. I guess he thinks they are little dog treats.

I know it's two days later, but if that happened to my dog I would call a vet to see if she needs to be checked out.I takes two different pills,I have a dog that eats everything that falls to the floor right away.I lean over the kitchen sink to take my pills.I always had the habit of doing that because I get a glass of water there.I hope your dog is ok.Let me know,I feel worried.

Yes, I have had that happen. Not with my current dog Sherlock, but with a dog I had before him. Sherlock is a really picky eater. The dog I had before would hoover anything in its path up, no questions asked! He was like my own little vacuum. Once I dropped one of my medications and he swallowed it before I could bend down to pick it up. I was so worried! I don't remember what it was exactly, but I remember it was a small dose. I kept an eye on him for the entire night, but he was fine. No way could I sleep. It was too late to call my regular vet, so I just stayed up the whole night watching the poor dog. He kept looking at me like, chill and leave me alone!

If I dropped a pill, my cat would not eat it, but he'd probably play with it until it went under the refrigerator or stove.

Hi jo, When Lola was a puppy she almost ate my house but fortunatly she is an outdoor dog. I believe that if she had gotten inside the house I would not have a chair to sit on. So, after all, I would say your dog is delicate as compared to my monster. I do hate it when meds fall from the table though. They simply disappear! My eyes canĀ“t see them and I have to sweep the floor to find them. As a punishment, I eat the dirty pill anyway.

I remember what a time u had w/lola, lol. Caseyis too old to get in much mischeif anymore like i am, . U got to eat those dirty pills, they are too expensiveto throw away. I don't imagine yours are all that dirty , mine aren't either. I wouldn't eat off just anyone's floor but i will mine.

What I am worried about is swallowing different pills at once. My mom is a nurse and thought me that I should at least wait 3 minutes before swallowing another medicine coz it is bad if it is taken at once. What I took that day is a vitamin, paracetamol and antibiotic. I am not sure if it is ok with yours :D

I never see this happen before. I guess dogs have a very good nose. They can smell and know the thing cannot be eaten right? Maybe your dog's nose has some problem. She is sick??Hope she is ok.
