I'm a size 8!!??

Less than a year ago I was wearing size 20 jeans.. up from my usual size 18. Size 18 is where I'd been since my twins were born almost 8 years ago. Before they were born I wore a size 12.. and when I decided last October to begin losing weight, 12 was what I was aiming for. But I reached size 12 back in February.. still about 20 lbs off from my goal weight.. the weight I was at before the twins. Obviously part of that is the muscle I've added by working out daily. So I didn't stop at size 12, I kept going to hit that goal weight.. and over time my goal weight has changed, and continues to change frequently because I'm not really sure what I can get to.. I guess we'll see when I get there. Anyways, my size 12's are getting a little loose on me, so last night we went to Walmart and I decided to try on some size 10's just to see if they'd fit. For giggles I grabbed a pair of size 8's as well, but was certain they wouldn't fit. I tried the 10's on first, and they were loose.. so I tried on the 8's. They fit perfectly.. so well in fact that I might have been able to go down to a 6 but they would have been very snug. I was excited, but at the same time I kept in mind that all brands of jeans are made differently and just because I'm in an 8 Faded Glory doesn't mean I can fit into an 8 Levi. So today I went to a Thrift Store, the twins need plain black shirts for a play they're in. While they were looking for their shirts I went browsing for shorts and bought myself 2 pair of work out shorts, and 1 pair of denim shorts.. guess what? Size 8!! I also put back 1 pair of size 8 not because they didn't fit, but because I didn't want to spend more than $10 and these pants were $5. So, I'm officially in a size 8, smaller than I've ever fit into in my adult life!! I can hardly believe it! I've still got some weight to lose though.. so who knows what size I'll be down to by the time I'm done. Have you ever been surprised by what size jeans you wear? What size pants are you aiming to fit into?

Yeah, I remember last summer when I put on a pair of shorts and couldn't button them, which forced me to go shopping for a size larger. I was so bummed.

Yeah that always stinks. But what a problem to have them being to small!

To be completely honest, I don't know what size of traditionally sized clothing that I would wear right now. When Lane Bryant came out with their right fit pants and jeans a couple years ago, I was immediately hooked on them. When I started out with them I was a very snug 5 blue (for my hips and thighs) now I am down to a 3 blue in their pants. My ultimate goal is to be able to shop in the ladies department instead of the woman's department for the first time in my adult life. Congratulations on your achievement.

I'm psyched not to have to shop in plus size sections anymore! Of course I'm still having a problem finding my size at Thrift Stores.. it seems 12 is an average size, because anything bigger or smaller is hard to find there.

Hey kats! Congrats on your weight loss! Size 8 is quite a small size so I am now getting concerned as to what you want your goal to be? I wish I was a size 8! Please don't be one of these women that starts getting carried away! Having muscles and curves is one thing, but anything lower than an 8 is getting to skinny! If you are an 8 or even 10 that is a good weight unless you are very petite all over! Please be careful now! I know how hard that you have worked to get where you are, but please don't go down any further! A size 4 is not becoming, it is emaciated! You need to be happy with your weight, muscle and size, but don't push it to where you will start looking sick and people will start wondering if you are! I really am proud of you because, hell, I can't do it, but I also know what happens when you get to that point where you can't stop yourself! Please take care of yourself! Hugs, Opal

I'm not there yet. I'm about 5'4 and still 154 lbs... a healthy weight for me is 130 or less. I'm not curvy yet, I'm still flabby, and my midsection is still bigger than I'd like. I'm aiming to take a few more inches off the tummy and butt, and then I'll be happy.. so maybe another 10-20 pounds. Like I said, we'll see when I get there.. but I know I'm not quite there yet.

Wow, good for you! It must be such a cool feeling to suddenly be in the single digits! And it's awesome that you exceeded your initial goal. I don't even know what size I am because, like you said, sizes very so much from brand to brand. I think most of my dress pants are a 9/10 and they fit a little loosely, I think I'm probably closer to a 7/8 but then they're too short. I was trying on capris one year and was quite amazed to find that the ones that fit me were a 5! There's no way I'm a size 5 but I certainly don't mind seeing the tag when I put those capris on!

Well that's gotta be a pain! I know here in most stores each pant size has 3 different lengths, short, average, and tall. Of course I do the majority of my shopping at the thrift store so I'm stuck with whatever they have.

Count the calories as you eat. It’s a good idea to have an idea of the calories that most food items have. If it is a packed thing then the label is sure to have the calories that the substance has.

Heartiest congratulations and this calls for some party!!! LOL only women know how difficult it is to shed that post-pregnancy flab and I know you’ve been at it for quite sometime now and the effort’s finally paid off! I really don’t know what size I am but I guess M fits me well enough, though I really get my outfits stitched for better fittings. I guess at 5’6” height, 65 kgs is good enough…I feel good enough except for the tummy flab which I know will require strenuous exercise to go…I’m too lazy for that

Honey, if I told you what size jeans I want to fit into, that would clue you in on how big my current size pants are!

That is sooo cool! Good for you. My baby is six months old now and I'm always trying to lose the weight but it's a bit difficult coz I'm still b/feeding. But I know, I shouldn't use that as an excuse. I should be working out more and eating healthy stuff.
