While typing for this post, I have already received 3 of this message in my phone. I wanted to try but I have no load at this moment. Here is what the message says: "sun cellular subscriber only pls pass dis to 25 users.dis is the gift of kris aquino for the win of his brother noynoy aquino. after u pass dis to 25 sun cellular subscriber just wait 30mins den check your balance because the sun give u a ringback and a free CTU450or 1month call and txt.. thank u" Have you receive this kind of message today? Do you believe that this message really comes from a trusted person or that Kris Aquino is actually doing this? If you receive this kind of message, not to consider the network company you may be subscribing now, what will be your reaction or how would you respond to the sender?

I think this is a hoax text since it was written in a manner that is not professional at all. I think you should let this pass you because you might just waste 25 text messages and would not received the free load at all. If you can call the Customer service fo Sun better to confirm this kind of text message.

It may be, of course if Sun Cellular would have to inform their subscribers they would have written it in proper english and spelling but as I said the best way to verify this is to contact Sun cellular itself, else, you could waste 25 text messages to your friends.

really a waste of money if we buy this kind of scam. well, you're right, the best way to verify this thing is to contact the network. and they could be informed, at least, if they haven't noticed it.

what if the message is written in a professional way, would it be more believable?

Even though I know there are only so many characters allowed on text messaging, I would not be apt to believe that this is from Kris Aquino because of the way the grammar is. "dis" is not a word.

I know it's used to shorten the word this, but I would rather think that a celebrity would be using proper grammar, I'm sorry I didn't understand the last statement.

it should not be "for the win of his brother" but "for the win of her brother" since kris is a younger sister of noynoy.

"dis" is a part of what we call text-cionary, which is used instead of "this". but even if it's actually kris who made it, it shouldn't be "for the win of his brother".

It's really annoying Best, I have been receiving this kind of text message since this morning. I don't believe with this kind of crap. It's clearly a scam. I just ignore those messages but really it is giving me a headache, for my phone keeps on beeping. With regards with your question on how would I respond to the sender, well, I wouldn't waste my load for this kind of thing. I only use my mobile phone for emergency.

Yes best, I'm back. And yes, with my two phones with different networks, same contents but with different offers. Really annoying. I wanted to switch off my phones but what if I had an emergency call?

hi best. good to see you BACK again. and i am really really happy to know that you finally decided to interact again with our friends here. this will be the BEST news that i heard today. do you mean that exactly the same message, the exact context, is what you have been receiving since this morning? well, that is really annoying. and with two phones you have, different networks? i too have no intention to response to the message. aside from the fact that i have no load this time, i don't want to waste my load for it. my phone is also for emergency cases only.

I doubt if Sun or any network will issue this kind of press statement. The grammar is bad and I do not believe that any network will use text spelling for promotion. Instead of bothering to answer them and waste your load, try the NTC website. You can file a complaint there. If people who received this text will all complain, or at least a majority, I think Sun/Smart will have to address this problem. It's irritating really. Good thing we are not like the US where they also charge the recipient of the text. I guess that's why there are hoax text blasts because nobody complains as nothing was taken from them.

but how or why they should include the recipient of the text message when here we are, just open our lines to anyone, even when they did is to guess our numbers?

i'm a globe subscribers so i'm out of the picture but it sounds like it's a hoax to me. Just imagine how many millions Kris will have to spend if all sun subscribers avail of this? Not unless this is courtesy of Sun cellular itself. But why require a subscriber to send 25 texts to get that load? if it's out of goodwill, they can just send the load and send a message with it that says this load is courtesy of Kris...blah...blah...blah. Personally, i would just ignore the text and will do it only when others have tried it and proven that it's not fake.

as i look at it, only globe is spared by this hoax, ybong. as dhangski have said, she is a smart and sun subscriber and at both, she received the same message. my wife had told me when she knew about this messages, if they really want to give us this free load, then give them to us without any hassle, if this is really a gift.

The message is fake. But i guess there are people who will take the bait easily. It's really nothing new. My sister in law almost got ripped off on a lottery winning hoax. Good thing my wife told me about it before they responded to the sender.

I haven't received any text message with that kind of reward after passing the message for a number of sun subscribers. I always delete that kind of message (chain-like message) that I firmly believe is untrue. It's just a waste of time for me. I don't know why others give so much attention to that kind of stuff but I don't at all. So with that Kris Aquino reward, that's just a fuss. So unbelievable for me. So I ignore and delete. I won't bother passing it to others.

I don't think this is true. If they really want to share, then why do they have to ask people to pass the message? You also have to check if the message comes from the network itself, or from just another subscriber. Most probably than not, if it's from another subscriber, then it's a scam. And they just found a new way to do it.

most probably a scam. but i can't see a reason why they have to do that. what can they get from a simple passing of a message to other subscribers?

I never received any message like that, and I don't think it's a legit message. I mean, how would they know if you have really forwarded that message. Network companies cannot monitor what text messages you are sending to other people. I think this is just one message created by someone that has gone viral.

Obviously is just a hoax and yet the starter of this sun subscription maybe just want to ruin the leadership of Noynoy in the sense that they want to add intrigues so that when people believe on this then nothing happens, they won't believe to Kris Aquino's credibility that might affect to Noynoy's leadership.

I do not believe in this, Kris Aquino is a Smart endorser right? so why will he choose Sun Cellular as a gift. If so, she will sure broadcast it thru media. This is just another prank, tripping text.
@neildc (17239)

I don't believe it and I don't wanna try it. If Chris really wanted to thank the Filipino people about Noynoy's victory, you'll learn it immediately from her, on the TV not on text messages. You know Chris, she always says what she mean and when she says it, it's on national TV. Good luck

just like last night at the PGT she always mention the percentage of votes Noy got from the area of where the contestants live. she thanked them and said, she loves so much that place because Noy got this and that percentage of votes. but she never mentioned the text and the gift load.

I think that's not true. There are lots of that kind of text messages sent before. I can easily create that one if I wanted to. Its just like a chain mail. The problem with that is if too many people believed in that text message network can be clogged which in turn cause problems to subscribers. So if you received those kind of messages better call your network's customer service number and ask information about that.

I am always amused with these type of messages. Its like a chain letter or spam of some sort. No, definitely its not true. I am not a Sun subscriber, but why would Kris Aquino give away free load and a cell phone? If I got such a message, I would simply ignore and delete it.

I have not encountered this message yet because i have not used my sun cell sim during the election until now. I might try to insert my sim today upon reading your post and see if i can receive such kind of message. Hope it is true...I would be lucky enough if I will be receiving a CTU450. That's fair enough, but I don't think it is true. hehehe

Don't you believe this. I don't think Kris would even give away free loads just because Noynoy wins. What a way to fool people! If the message did not come from suncellular then it is all hoax. Just please delete and don't pass this anymore so that it will not fool more people.

I was sent that and I ignored it because it has all the characteristics of a scam. They just want you to buy or waste load. That's a desperate move. They can actually make loads of sales there if every person does use 25 of his load to others. It's a hoax.

could be that no one from your circle of friends know the number of your retailer sims, if they happened to receive the same message. mine as well is a retailer sim but i also use this as a regular sim card, to make calls and send and receive text messages.
