I wonder if people really do read the discussions before they comment

I was browsing and reading through the discussions posted here on mylot and i stumbled upon one that said she got paid by readbud. upon further inspection she said it was in a dream at least 2 people posted a congratulatory note aND then proceeded to ask for payment proofs. it was evident that she made this discussion as a mildly sarcastic discussion about readbud's payment system and the ones mentioned above didn't even read her post thoroughly are people just responding for responding's sake? or are they just responding so that they'll be able to rack up more posts points? are you one of the people who just respond without really thinking about it?

Well, i have noticed this too in some of the post. Some people here simply post response based on the topic posted without reading the entire discussion. I think some are just in a hurry of responding for the sake of responding. In my case i try to read the entire discussion before i give my response to ensure that what i shared is relevant to the topic to be helpful to everyone.

well i hope more people do what you're doing :D we don't really have to reply to anyone's post really unless we find it relevant :D

I think many people are desperately responding to EVERYTHING without even reading just for the money. I always read the entire discussion before responding, and sometimes when I don't fully understand the topic I don't respond and that's all.

to be really honest i don't.the reason is when i read the heading its understood what to write.take this discussion for example.i really don't need to read the whole thing as i can make out what you are trying to say just by reading the heading.

I saw that discussion too. My first impulse was to respond and tell them off. I'm glad that it was spotted by other people too. I think most people read the discussion with a few exceptions of course. I do read the entire discussion before answering. Sometimes when the topic is interesting to me, I read all the responses too. I think for the most part those people are here to earn and so they respond willy-nilly. I am here for research so I take the time to read. I know its annoying to receive to responses which are not on point, so I take the time to formulate my replies.

I agree with you. I come here for information, usually about writing sites or technology I don't understand fully. I think these folks haven't found the discussions that are really of interest to them yet. When I first joined, I would read things randomly, now I tend to focus where I can learn about things I care about. It makes a huge difference.

I've seen that discussion too. Haha.. Funny isn't it. They're too obvious that they didn't read the discussion first before responding. Well as for myself, I do read the discussion first. Why are you going to respond if you haven't understand the topic in the first place? Silly right? Lol. ;)

Yeah I noticed that too. I may not read all the responses before me, but I read what the discussion is about, and if I feel like, I respond. If not, I go onto another discussion. What is the point of responding if you don't know what the discussion is about? I guess some people just post a response just so they can rack up credits. In my opinion, that is just a waste of time. Let's face it, we are getting paid in myLot for quality discussion, and if our responses do not match up with the topic of discussion, I can't see how we'll get any money from that. There is absolutely no point to it, unless you count aggravating other members as a plus point.

Yeah, I do the same. May not read all responses, but at least a few of them to know what the discussion is really about.

As to me, of course, I read the first post, sometimes even the second third, and if there are only few replies I read them all.

i think many people here are guilty of doing this... i had encountered a few of these people as well in the past... and they actually admit it themselves that they just couldn't be bothered to read the entire post and just read the title of the post and comment on it... they just want to earn quick money and that's why they are doing that... it is really sad because we shouldn't be here just for the money reason alone... also, if we want to earn money from here, we have to earn it in a decent and honest manner... that's what i think... take care and have a nice day...

I have seen this happen before. People will only read the headline, and not what's contained in the text or they miss the sarcasm. I usually read the poster's full text, but often times, I respond with my reply, then go back and read what other people have said, instead of reading all the replies first. I guess that part is a little backwards.

That's what some people are doing all the time. They give a quick response without reading through the entire content of that topic. The only explanation for their doing this is that they're here simply for money. But even so, I still think it necessary to finish reading the whole discussion before responding to it. In my case, I can't think of anything to respond without the knowledge of the discussion. I don't want to be criticized for posting nonsense. Besides, I take it as a proper respect for the starter of the discussion. He/She starts a discussion in hopes of sharing it with others, and he/she deserves respect. And again, I think of the evaluation system of mylot for quality posts. None of us has any idea of the specific criteria for quality posts, but if nonsense is regarded as a quality post just because there are over 4 lines of words, then I have to disagree with mylot on this issue.

I honestly am guilty of that too. I sometimes just look at the topic and not really read through discussions. But we can't blame anyone though. It's sometimes boring to read all the blabber in the discussion portion. I don't blame anyone either for taking things too personally at times too. We all have moods and since we're put into this one system, there will be differences on opinions, and attitudes of how we deal with each discussion. I am indeed here for the payment. Should the payment option be diminished, I don't think I would stay in this forum much longer.

hi chipesterkhan No I always read the discussion thouroughly before I respond. but I too have had people look at the title and not bother to read the discussion at all, as their answer shows it like the one I did on Kwim why not Use english, and this responder only read my catchy title and not read the real disucssion. He said only this, I don't know who kwim is but why you hate her. I replied you did not read my discussion I said this was a abbreviation for a phrase know what I mean? It is not a person and I do not hate anyone. Why do not people read discusions,is it that they are not text speak with only four or five words to have to think about? Does everything have to be done so fast that you are finished before you can blink your eyes.

Sometimes I just respond to discussions without understanding the discussion itself cuz there are discussions that you can't really understand. Like for instance they'll say "Help I need advice on something..blah blah blah." then when I open the discussion I can't understand what they're talking about. What I'll do then Is read the other responses, which in many cases, are also blindly posted. So what I'll do next is respond with a question to clear things. Then when they respond they make things more complicated for me so sometimes I just make responses as simple and general as possible so they can at least understand it.

I do read through the discussion before i answer. I have a slow system and often interject my personal beliefs.

I have often wondered the same thing, only because sometimes the responses don't really make any sense to the discussion that was created... Personally speaking I always read the discussion before I answer because otherwise, I know it would not make any sense and then I would look a bit stupid... I dont see the point in answering someones discussion unless you know what you are replying with. I actually enjoy this site, not for the money, but I think its a great way to help people and make friends... I dont always come on here every day,so for me it is far from racking up points and making money... just enjoyment... :)

Yes, that is a true story. The reason is that MyLot pays. People want to respond as many discussions as possible, so that they can pile up their earnings, which includes me too. People have got time only to read the topics. If the description deviates from the topic then who is to be blamed? None other than the topic starter. So I would better suggest a crisp topic header for those who start with relevant description inside.

Well maybe those people are also responding in their DREAMS. hehehehehe... I do agree that there are people here that are simple responding and not reading the discussions, once they read the title, they thought they already know the discussion. Well you cannot blame them, since this site is offering earnings for every response, so most people here are trying to response as fast as possible and as many as possible just to earn more. :) nice observation my man.
