How can people be so sick?

So I was reading some news on yahoo when I came across this article. It was about how this lady kidnapped and murdered her daughters playmate. When she was asked why she did what she did her only response was she did not know why she did what she did. Not only did she kidnap and murder this poor little 8 year old girl she also drugged her. Talk about a sick woman. She will be spending the rest of her life in prison. You can read the article here if you want. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100615/ap_on_re_us/us_girl_in_suitcase

These sorts of things happen more and more every day. As a society we have become "consciousless" and more and more people are becoming cold-hearted. They no longer consider their impact on others, only what the world does to them. It is sad.

Well thank goodness I still feel and have a conscious, and no matter what mine is telling me that woman was sick and needed to be locked up before she was able to do it again.

I agree with your opinion. I always meet some people who are cold-hearted in this social. and they always hurt others. I feel very unhappy when i see this things

Hi Autumnrose, what a chilling story! I will never understand how a person can hurt an innocent child like that nor do I want to. There is no way to find sense in this sort of thing. What it should do is make parents aware that they really can't trust anyone with their children. Stories like this just make me feel sad.

I dont understand it either and I dont think I ever want to understand something like that. There would never be a reason in my mind that would ever make sense. You just dont hurt children. I do agree about making parents realize you cant trust no one with your children. What a sad world we live in when people like that are allowed the freedom to commit such an awful crime.

I hope she would suffer the stiffest penalty for doing this. Sometimes they can claim that they were not in the right frame of mind when they did this and if some psychiatrist can assess such she could then avoid getting to prison for this and might get to a mental facility instead.

Oh no she is going to prison for life she has already plead guilty. It just amazes me how sick people can truly be. I have a 9 year old and to even think of doing something like that to one of her friends makes me sick to my stomach. Not to mention they were neighbors as well. When it comes to your children I guess just hold them closer and love them longer.

I remember this story when it first happened last year. The eight year old girl was skipping along the park going home. I couldn't believe a female Sunday School teacher could commit such a crime. She needs to rot in jail for the rest of her life. I can't comprehend what the parents are going through with all this. It has to be the hardest thing to deal with in life. Now her own daughter will not have a mom and hopefully this daughter will learn to stay away from her own Mom.

My heart breaks to think of that family and the pain that they must be going through. I can only hope that the little girl that now has to grow up with out her own mom will be able to move beyond what her mother has done.

You know what? I don't even want ot hear what excuses she has to give for doing this terrible thing because I don't think there is any excuse. I just don't understand what has happened to the world. How are we supposed to give our children freedom when things like this are going on. As a mother myself I really do fear for the day that my daughters ask to go somewhere without an adult. I know i cannot keep them wrapped in cotton wool forever and a day, but can you even blame me for wanting to while people like this woman are roaming the streets.

Let us not just jump ahead to judge! we need to first put into considerationthat she may be suffering from some psychological disorders both mentally or emotionaly. Yes i agree that it s a very crude situation but we need to look behind close doors. We need to understand what made her decide to do such an awfull crime. Yes i am in ull agremnt that she diserves to be place in prison but let us stop to think for a moment did she really just made this decision of the top of her head?

The woman must be a psycho to do something like that, either that or mentally ill and thought the child deserved it for some crazy reason. But if she's been allowed to plead guilty she must have been in her right mind which just makes her psycho. Mybe the girl did something to her daughter, or she thought she was inful or something (someone said she was sunday school teacher). The mind boggles it really does, lets just hope they never let her out.

I meant "maybe" and "sinful", I wish Mylot had an edit button.

So true. She was in a sound frame of mind when she committed the crime in order to be able to plead guilty. I think that she planed it and even tried to cover up her crime. She even wrote a note telling people where the child had been dumped. She knew what she was doing and planned it. She deserves to never see daylight again as far as I am concerened.

She is a sick woman. There is no excuse for what she has done. I hope she suffers for the rest of her life. I feel so badly for the little girls family as well as the daughter of the murderer. It is a sad situation.

I can not believe it killing a child for a no reason. I don't believe she doesn't realize what she do. I think he really sick and have temper problem. Its make you really aware with who your kid play and they parent. Its really hard to see people with psychology problem because grown up tend to hide it.

I know right what is wrong with her. I hope she gets a little prison justice for her crimes.

I believe that she is mentally ill. Only psychotic people can do that. It is very obvious in her statement that she is crazy. Killing an innocent child and not knowing why is an act of a crazy person. If she is proven crazy then she will not be imprisoned but be put in a place where crazy people are treated.

Well its gone beyond that as she has already plead guilty. In order to plead guilty she had to be found sane. She is just a sick woman that did a horrendous crime and never thought she would get caught. There well be no mental hospital for her. The only thing we can hope for now is that the family of this poor little girl can eventually move on and get on with their life's and this womans poor daughter can move beyond the awful crime her mother has committed.

Not only does it not bring the little girl back it does not give the family closure either. I would want to know why, and would not settle till I had the reason, but of course if I was the parents of the little girl I would not care about my self and would see to it that she paid with her life at my hands, making sure it was as horrible for her as it was for my daughter.

It kind of makes me wonder why she would consider even doing this? I know no one really wants an explanation but I seriously can't think of why... was she mad at young girls for calling her names or something the chick looked like susan boyle O_o? I mean seriously... I know that's no excuse what so ever and I'm shocked a sunday school teacher would just up and do something like this... very tragic... but there has to be something wrong with this chick pleading guilty or not. -WickedSpies

No explanation would make a difference. They need to make her suffer every day for the rest of her life the way that little girl suffered.

The woman's cognitive ability is really impaired because she cannot make sound and rightful decisions. people like her should be placed in a psychiatric ward, not in jail. The doctors need to further assess the woman's condition before making final decisions regarding her penalty.

So true. It really makes me think when my daughter ask to go and play at her friends house now. I mean that little girls family never thought they needed to worry. Just shows you can not trust any one with your children.
