Why are people so selfish - I really am very irritated and frustrated.

take it easy. :) I've been in that position before and it made me miserable. One thing I learned in relation to this is that not everyone cares about you. :) It's the tough truth we got to face... ONLY true friends care. :)

I do try to go to my friend's profiles and check out discussions that they have started, especially the ones that I know start interesting discussions on topics that I like. However, I do admit that I probably do not do this as often as I could. On the other hand, I do not expect my friends to respond to all my discussions, even though I do not start a lot of them. That is not why I am friends with people. I think that I probably would feel bad if my discussion did not get any responses, though, so I do understand that.

Sometimes people read something but just don't have anything to add to it, but that doesn't mean that they don't read it. I am one of those that seldom get responses so i know how you feel. Now that i have my computer back (lightning struck the last one) i'll keep an eye out for your posts. I may not be much but i am at least one reply!LOL

Hi Avani, Don't get frustrated. It happens some times discussion , of serious nature started by members go un noticed at tiems. I came today after a big gap on myLOT. Let me see what you have started. Andsee if i have something to say on the topic. Hope u r fine otherwise!

hai there avani..i know you must feel annoyed about it..i think the least people can do is read it..i know you must post it well that is why you feel frustrated..i also want people to comment even it is the simplest comment..i will appreciate it a lot..that is why people should not be self centred..they should consider about others..i got one of my discussion with o responses and i don't think there are people who read it..it does make me sad at that time..

What was the discussion? People may not have seen it, we are not all on here 24/7 - I myself have only just returned back inside after sitting out reading in the sunshine! Maybe the topic was something that people couldn't answer. I don't think people are being selfish - and what has it to do with money?

Hi Avani, They may not have seen your discussion. The front pages on the topics revolve so fast and once they get removed from the top pages they can be difficult to find. I know that has happened to me so many times. I'll see two or three interesting discussions. I post to one and go back to read the next and it's gone. I'll search and it's as if it just disappeared. Not everyone has their notifiers on because it will clog up their e-mail. I know I don't. And I don't respond to friends discussions simply because they are my friend. If I have nothing to add of value to the conversation or if I can't relate to it then I just don't. I've had discussions get very few responses and then all of a sudden for some reason they get brought forward again and take on a whole new life.

Why do you think they're selfish....may be they have nothing to share on that particular topic with you.I would skip some of my friends discussions if i do not have anything to share that doesnt mean that i'm selfish and i only think of money.hope your future posts get many responses from your friends.great day.

People are so selfish because they don't want to think logically that if they share anything it won't cost them, else they will get the affection, respect, love and so on. But silly peoples don't understand this and suffer for only being selfish!!! Everyone should be kind, humble and must help each other which would actually help himself/herself. Money is not everything...Money can't buy true love, money can't help you everywhere.

Well, people are just like that. Selfish, and do something to earn their beneficial situation. Don't be irritated, and that is the true human nature.

It's nothing new here in myLot avani. There are many times I've had none. You just have to learn to take it as a pinch of salt like most of us have. Or what about your responses which are not responded by the starters. It shouldn't make you less of the person you are. Just keep myLotting.

I am new member on myLot but I have seen this problem many time. I think your discussion was one day when your friends were busy Sometimes on mail is very difficult to read many discussions and make contrast between interesting subject and other discussions

thank you very much.. you know one thing boys are selfish about girls and vice versa, this we can see in love are friendship.... they will think that they have to talkwith her or him only and no others. Some jealous will take place between them....

Yes the people are selfish nowdays what to do the situation makes people like that.Money plays a big role in blood relations also then how can your case be different.But anyways dont worry be happy.I am new to my my lot but i will try and respond all your discussions.SMILE...

Sadly the world is selfish and entirely money oriented. I learned that a long time ago, before I ever found mylot. I've learned that on the internet people only care about length. They want short a stubby. It doesn't matter how important something might be to you, if its more than 3 sentences long they can't be bothered to read it. Thats why I still blog more than mylot. I have faithful blog readers who read everything and not just the short stuff.

Sorry but I don't remember to drop on your discussion. Maybe people did not comprehend what you meant in it or thy can't relate with it. Why don't you rephrase it and expound what you wanted to be discussed of. On the case of selfihnes. People are born to be selfish, they always make their own self to be the first priority. Even you yourself can't deny the fact that you are also selfish; remember not everyone here can relate to your topic. We belong to different culture and so much more about point of view. Just continue what you are doing here then will find out that someone do a reply for you. It maybe today, tomorrow or the next day to come. Just find pleasure in what you are doing.
