What prevents me from sleeping?

Usually most of us have this problem sometimes. I find it hard to sleep at times and in the morning i feel so sleepy to go to college. I don't know why it happens to me but it's an unstable cycle for me. I always get more sleep during the afternoon hours. I always get irritated most of the times with some teacher or the other and i can't focus even on sleeping. That's my problem. Anyone care to explain similar problems and why they can't seem to sleep?

Same here, but then I work nights, so it's difficult on bright days. Bet anything will wake me anyway. The blinds rattling in the wind downstairs: even the rain on the conservatory roof!

just relax, whether work out ur tensions in the gym or take some yoga and pilates classes. also, drink some herb tea before bedtime. warm tea with honey also helps. read a book in bed until u fall asleep. sometimes, light a candle and meditate helps. or, pray before bedtime. praying is a good form of meditation.

we have the same problem. what i did is i sleep early in the evening like 10pm, then wake up at 6am. first it was difficult. i also try taking up sleeping pills but you must only use low dosage of it so that you wont be addicted.

I had trouble sleeping earlier in the year because I was so stressed out. It would get into the late hours of the morning before I was able to fall asleep, or I would just not be able to sleep at all. It's extremely frustrating when you are in bed and you WANT to sleep... but for whatever reason you're not able to fall asleep at all. I had to take pills for awhile, but I'm off of them right now. One of the things that really helped me was exercising more during the day. If I took a walk or did some running, then I would feel less tense and physically tired enough to fall asleep at night. Some other things that helped me was changing my bedtime routine. I turn off the computer, the television, my music, and anything else that has that electronic glow at least an hour before going to bed. I take a nice warm shower and then I write in my journal and read a bit before turning out the lights and lying down.
