Are you where you want to be in life?

I'm not. This is not at all what I had planned or hoped for. I was on the right track...had a job I absolutely loved, hubby and I made decent money, took a small vacation every once in a while, and pretty much did what we wanted, and then the world fell apart. I got sick and couldn't work anymore...the place he worked closed down, we spent all our savings trying to survive, and now here we are--not at all where we thought we would be at this time in our lives. I've come to realize that life plans seldom work out the way you want them to. How about you? Are things working out for you the way you thought they would, or is everything going a totally different way?

Challenges there are a-plenty. Things have not always worked out. But I am spiritually rich. I have many good friends. I have a wonderful hope for the future. So i can say that in spite of the ups and down I am satisfied. At the end of the day I know that I've done something good and can sleep the sleep of the peaceful ones. I hope things get better for you and your family!

You say, your world fell apart. Worlds can be rebuilt. Things may be a bit dark now but the future can be brighter than you can ever dream of. Use the negatives not as stumbling blocks but as stepping stones. Think positive and positive things will happen.

You are a very positive person, and I admire that. And yes, woulds can be rebuilt, but I'm not a spring chicken, and unless something positive happens soon, the stumbling blocks will remain.

Think about this: Jesus said the following just before he was about to be arrested, tried unjustly, and was going to be executed. And he knew that this was about to happen. John 16:33 (New International Version) 33"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." What encouraging words to lift our spirits!

I know that in the blink of an eye things in your world can just explode on you. I know what it feels like to feel lost without a clue to as why. I know what it feels like to feel pain so deep that it tingles on the outside of your skin. Sometimes, when things happen, they happen so that another window will open. A new ray of light will come shining through and you will find relief. As far as my life, I am searching for a cause. I don't know what to do with it. I am a stay at home mother on disability. I fight my way through day to day hoping that I will be sane from one day to the next. I know what it is like to live on the edge. I know how you feel, and I will be thinking of you laciece. I hope the best for you. Remember that "Things always happen for a reason"

I don't know when, but How is the question. When it does, you will be more happy due to your sufferings. I know that this can seem like eternity, but it will get better. Just take it a day at a time. One day. Do not worry about tomorrow or yesterday. Just think of today. Think of the things that you have rather than what you do not have. For example, being alive and your husband being there too. Have you or your husband thought about going back to school. They have all types of grants and student loans out there for people to live on while going to school. My husband went back to be a mechanic. We are now living off of my disiblilty and his student income, until he gets out this December. Maybe this would open up another window for you. Mztika

I have love, good family and our health is great. but... I am certainly not where I want to be at this point in my life financially. I don't much care for my job even though it has what I need, ok pay, benefit and good hours but very unsatisfied. Just can't seem to get ahead or sometimes even stay afloat. It is so hard to save money and save for our future. Other than the money part I am very satisfied with my life.

You are right ! I should take a class or find another employment but right now no money to take class and the availability of jobs right now are very slim. Like I said , my job gives me what I need and I am truly grateful for that because life would be worse if I didn't have a job or one where I had no benefits or lower pay, etc.

Hi ryzach...well, at least part of your life is on the right track. Why don't you figure out a way to improve the rest of it? Maybe take classes in a fiend you would enjoy working in?

Thank you for your kind thoughts, sweet You sound very bored and frustrated. Perhaps you could talk to your family and set up a schedule so you're not there all the time, and maybe you can find some other work that you like better. Maybe go to school?

I'm not, but I'm making good progress. I'm learning more money than ever as a freelancer. I'm just about to send in my first poetry manuscript on or before the 31st. My success is not coming as quickly as I would like it, but I feel that it is coming.

No I am not, but I am already 19, so I never really expected to be where I wanted to be by this point in my life. I am still trying things out and finding something that interests me as a career. I am sorry to here that you got sick, has your husband managed to find another job since he was made redundant?

I can honestly say that I am not quite where I would like to be, but I am on my way there. I feel that I am exactly where I am supposed to be at this point in my life, and that is a great comfort to me. My life has definately had it twists and turns, but I can look back and see the many lessons I have learned and know that I will get where I want to be, or at least where I am supposed to be when the time is right.

My life is definitely far from where I want it, but I can honestly say that I'm more content now, then I was a year ago. Last year, I was going through a divorce and I was in between jobs because I had to quit my job during my separation from my ex. A year later, I have become management within a job that I really enjoy doing. I am working towards my degree in Psychology, which is something that I've wanted to do since I was 13 years old. I'm finally doing things that I need to do, instead of what others expect of me. In October 2009, I got with my current boyfriend and my life has changed a lot. It is amazing how life changes when you meet people that want the best for you as well.

Hello suraj...It sounds like you are off to a really good start. Sometimes, being shy is a result of low self-esteem...maybe try some personal improvement stuff...books, films, maybe a class?

I feel that life is journey and not a destination. We have to improve everyday to reach our goals. So we should not be discouraged if we have failure or too much encouraged by successes.Yory to achieve fell sick unfortunately but you should stand up again and reach for your goals and trying to achieve them.I also fell sick during my exam but i passed. My life is in satifying position and i am improving day by day.

I think everyone have this problem we always want things, better life we want live life with own rules and wishes. But, in real life we can't do that. We can only hope that our life would change in future to our dream life.. We always think why happens this bad things with us why that thing was brake? But, then we buy new or something other. No I do not in life which I want I be happy to live in other place with other conditions. I want to live life where I could get all what I want, but then at same moment I think, Does I really need that life? The most important is that we exist here on this world and all depends from us.. Does we would live that life what we want or we all ready live It. I wish to all find your dream life where and how you want to live. Take care, Have a nice day!

Hi Lacieice, Our situation is very much like yours. We are not at all where we should be at this stage of our lives either. My husband's job was so stressful he had to quit and retire. A couple of years after that we moved to another state. We started a small at home business that we really thought would work. This horrible recession came and our sales plummeted down to practically nothing. About 6 months later I had to have surgery and have had three in the past year and a half or so. The last one was emergency surgery on a weekend and was very scary. The medical bills are terrible and what we had for savings is gone also ...similar to your situation. We are trying our best to make extra money on the Internet and my husband has found temporary, part time work and is trying to increase that or find full time employment. Things are very difficult financially, as they are for you.

I think there are a lot of people in similar circumstances. I try to make a little online, but I really don't get very much...especially with all the scam sites out there. We live in a severly depressed area, so even a part-time job is impossible to find. My son has been out of work for over a year. It's really hard to keep a positive outlook when things just keep going from bad to worse. Don't know if we'll ever see a light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry to hear that. But I think most of us are not in the situation we wanted us to be in. Or it may be due to our expectations set too higher than the hard work we have done. I am also not in the situation I wanted to myself be in but I am trying to make things work. I believe that everything can be done with hard work and enthusiasm. All I can say for you is best of luck!

I used to think that, too, and for some people it does apply. I find myself in a situation that really has no potential, and I am really stuck. I guess I will just have to wait and see what's in store for me.

I'm not there where i want to be too, but i believe in miracles. I got brilliant bf and we live together. We love each other and help each other and protect each other. We have a lot of things to do in our list with wishes and we are trying to do this things one by one. I know that people change the time and the time change people too. If we want something now, it's not 100% sure we will want it in future. World is changing and if we are trying to reach something long time, when we get it, we will find something else what to strive for ... Everything is changing all the time and we have to keep the way we think the things must be, so we can be part of that change :)
