Are there anyone here who uses a slow cooker? I heard some great reviews about this cooker. And I'm thinking of buying one. I just wonder how long does a slow cooker cook food? More than an hour? 3 hours? They said that a slow cooker can keep out heat from your kitchen, and eventually your house. It can also cook meat nicely. It's good for stews and soups. What I like about it is you can just chop meat, veggies and stuffs and put them all there, lol. Any recipes you want to share. Thanks!

Hi, I always use slow cooker to cook my dishes. Very easy and simple and I no need to worry that my food will get burn as long as I put enough water into the slow cooker to cook the food. You can simply set the cooking mode that you like:low, high and auto. I even use slow cooker to cook desserts like greenbean and barley soup. Sometimes, I will cook chicken potatoes(stew) with my slow cooker. I just cut the chicken into small chunks, add some potatoes and other ingredients, then set to high mode, cook them for 2 -3 hours and the chicken meat will be tender and taste delicious. You can always use slow cooker to stew pork, beef and other dishes.Of course, slow cooker can't be use to stir-fried vegetables. Get one slow cooker for yourself and give it a try,you sure will love it!! You can simply get the medium size slow cooker if you are having a small family members.

I've been lost since we moved into our house because we haven't come across our slow cooker (crock pot) since we've been here. When I lived at my mother's house I would say that I used hers on at least a weekly basis. There were times that we would start a meal the evening before we planned to eat it and let it cook on low all through the night and there were other times that we wouldn't start the meal until later on the day that we intended to eat and then cook on high for about 3-5 hours. It does keep the heat out of the kitchen and is also a very safe way to cook.

i love my slow cooker, I put ribs or a roast in it and go away and do other things while they are cooking, it always comes out so tender. There are so many good recipes on the net for cooking in one. Believe me once you try one you will love it. Slow cookers do just that they cook slowwwwww. I put my ribs or roast in it to have for supper, no it does not cook in an hour or two. And yes it beats turning the oven on when it is so hot outside. Look up slow cooker recipes on the net and you will find tons of them for just about everything.

Yes, I have a slow cooker and we have used it a few times. As the name suggests, it cooks very slowly over the period of several hours, depending on what you are cooking, but the food comes out well-cooked and very tasty because it has been cooked slowly. _Derek

When I was working in Malaysia, I used a slow cooker and it's really good because the taste is good compared to conventional cooking and the health benefits is also good. For you to use it, it is better to use boiled water then put all the meat for about three or four hours, leave it to be tender and when it's done just put in the vegetables, cover and turn it off. The slow cooker is made of ceramic so when you turn it off the heat does not cool off right away.

I also use a slow cooker, mostly for meat stews that can take between 7 and 9 hours. It cooks so slowly and at such a gentle heat that the kitchen does not get too hot.

I wouldn't be without my slow cooker, I love it!! Opening my front door on a cold winter evening and being greeted by the inviting smells of beef stew or chicken noodle soup wafting from a slow cooker is just lovely. But winter is not the only time a slow cooker is useful. In the summer it can avoid introducing heat from a hot oven. At any time of year, a slow cooker can make life a little more convenient because by planning ahead, you save time later. And it takes less electricity to use a slow cooker rather than an oven. The slow cooker cooks foods slowly at a low temperature—generally between 170° and 280° F. The low heat helps less expensive, leaner cuts of meat become tender and shrink less.

Hi. Yes, it does have a setting: auto, high and low. So, it's not a problem you just set it up and it cooks perfectly. I prepare food around lunch time and it's perfect for dinner and the next day lunch. (cause I usually wake up late, lol) So, at lunch I prepare a new meal. I should have bough a slow cooker before. Thanks and hope you have a good day.
