Which Do You Prefer? Quicky Shower or Long Bath?

Although I regularly do both, I do feel more relaxed after I take a long hot bath. I don't mean long like two hours, but more like 30-45 minutes, because if I go any longer I will end up drowning from going to sleep in the tub. I also like to bring the radio in the bathroom so I can play some refreshing gospel music while relaxing. I heard that soaking in hot water is good for hemorrhoids (sorry, a bit off topic.) Anyway, I usually shower when I don't have much time due to a tight schedule, which is most of the time. So I find it a pleasure and a privilege to get that soothing hot bath in sometimes. So they both have their good points. But the best is, it involves soap and water, which is required to get clean. Now I want to hear what you prefer?

Wow you are lucky you didn't drown. I'm glad you're still here with us. I think you have to put some epsom salt in the water to help shrink hemorrhoids.

I haven't taken a long bath since I was a young girl. This does sound like it would be pleasurable. I just never have the time. I always take quick showers so I can get on to doing other things. I think I will follow your recommendation and take a long bath soon. Hot water, bubbles, candles, and music sounds like a wonderful way to relax after a long, stressful day.

It depends. If I am in a hurry and need to be on my way in the next little bit then a quick shower is the ticket. Refreshes and cleans the body. But then, when I am tired and maybe alittle sore then the long bath is what I want. Eromatherapy and candles, my lavender soap and some music is what I go for then.

Lavender soap sounds good. It really helps to soak your muscles in the tub.

I shower every day and a long luxurious bubble bath is a special treat when I have the time. I love baths and I wish I had time to have one more often! I love special bubbles, nice oils, my coffee and a good book which I try hard not to drop in the water! Candles are good too but a little messy to clean up afterwards! I think baths are a great way to have quiet ‘me’ time; it’s important to remember to lock the door especially if there are kids in the house!

Locking the door would work, as long as there's someone in there to watch the kids, if you have small kids of course.

Nothing naughty!! I would lock the door so that I would not be disturbed....That's it...Perfectly innocent (LOL)!

I really want to go for a long, hot bath after reading that my friend so, yes, I suppose I prefer a bath (especially if I'm not feeling well) but it has to involve bubbles, preferably Radox. That means I don't feel guilty about using too much water as the bath (despite being old) is a big one so takes a LOT of water to fill up! I do shower most of the time but a bath is - well, brilliant really!

I take showers mostly because I'm pressed for time. I do not like taking relaxing baths in the tub because the landlord needs to caulk my tub. I have a problem with centipedes.

hi miraclefreebies as I am p hysically unable to g et in and out of a tub as my left are since the shoulder joint surgery several years back cannot be lifted enough to help me get in and out of a tub. so a shower is wonderfully efficent for me with shampoo and bathgel and conditioner too. I can relax under the warm water.

Hi, miraclefreebies. I prefer a quick shower that is about 10 to 15 minutes. If I stay in a bath, it will make me get sleepy. It would be very hard for me to take my time to wash off. My body will be so relaxed and drained. I would just prefer to take a quick shower than a long bath.

Hi cream. A bath is good if a person is looking to just relax or soak their body. It can also help with insomnia, just don't fall asleep in the tub. Thanks cream.

I prefer showers. Although most of the time they are quick, I sometimes like to spend a little extra time in there. I've never really been a bath person.

I take a shower in the morning before work, which does wake me up and refreshes me for the day. One of the most relaxing things for me to do at the end of the day is soak in a hot bath with a favorite magazine. I can stay in there for almost an hour. Sometimes even just close my eyes and try to meditate on some positive thoughts.

Showers are good for starting the day off. Just like some people drink coffee to start their day off. Yes it is a good time to read or meditate.

I do understand your reasons for loving baths but I really do not like soaking in my filth, after enduing the dust and dirt of the environment in which I work. I do enjoy a cold shower in the morning especially if I can wash my hair at the same time. A cold shower refreshes me and goes a long way in preparing me for a hectic day. In the evening a warm shower relaxed me and prepares me for a relaxing evening where I can calm my system down in preparation for 8 hours of good sleep.

Ya even I feel good when I take long bath, especially with warm water, but at times when I am in a hurry to go to office, I need to have a quick shower. Ha Ha, but my long bath is for 20-22 minutes max, and my speedy shower is about 7 - 9 minutes. On some days (usually holidays) I take extra long bath usually about 40 to 50 minutes, and most of the times I do that listening to some of my favourite tracks such as Linkin Park, etc.

For quite some time now, I have only wanted to have a quick shower rather than fill the bathtub and get into it, because it always makes me feel so sleepy, where a shower tends to freshen me up more. In fact, we have had our bath taken out and a big shower has replaced it. I don't miss a bath at all, and neither does my wife. _Derek

i prefer quick shower, to make it faster, but if i want to be relax i prefer to have long bath, with warm water, adding some of aroma therapy to the tub, will gives me fresh relaxation, i prefer to choose quick shower also because of the weather especially if the weather is cold, even i'm bathing with hot water, still the air is cold, and i can get a flu

I moved into a new flat 3 months ago which has a bath in it, and I've only showered three times since I got here. I love having a bath so much, and I use it to unwind at the end of a stressful day. I will take my book in there and have a read, usually for longer than an hour, while my boyfriend watches the TV in the lounge. It's almost as though my bathtime is like our time apart from each other, in a way, and we both enjoy it. When I have to start back at university in the autumn though, I will no doubt start having showers instead, as I won't have the same amount of time to relax in the bath as I would have done in the past.

Which do I prefer I guess it just depends on the type of mood i am in. I love my long relaxing bubble baths. I take a book in and read along with a lit candle and a drink of my choice. The longest I stay in is about an hour.
