Let´s do a little test. Shut your eyes for a moment. Imagine that this would be what you have seen all your life. Actually we don´t know if one who is born blind can "see" even the darkness - but are you grateful that you can see and read this text? What a practical and amazing gift the ability of seeing is!! Is there anything else you are grateful for? When you started counting the things you are thankful for, did you feel better??

I have, literally, countless blessings. My children, my family, my health and my home are just the obvious ones but there are hundreds more. I never have to be hungry or thirsty, I have a nice bed, clothing, a warm/cool place to live with no bugs and no disease. I could go on and on! My grandpa once told me that there is always someone worse off than me. I was not even ten when he told me that but it's stuck with me and it's true. No matter how bad things are, there's always something worse and we should be grateful. I'm not rich in money but I'm a very wealthy woman in the ways that count and for that I'm grateful to God.

Well, dragon, you had a wise grandpa and it seems that you were willing to learn at an early age. I am not rich in money either, but there is so much more to be thankful for. Just have to keep reminding myself to thank God for what I have - good friends don´t cost anything and you can´t buy them with money..

Yes we have a ton of things to be thankful for .I am also gragteful fo music and songs as they keep us happy. How about colors as what a drab world this would be without colors.

You are right. :D And guess what? I'm thankful also that at a very young age, I'm already earning money online. :D I recall having to walk from my school to my house because I missed the bus today. That reminded me of our car I always complain about. I'm so happy I can read that text. Don't get me wrong here, there are lots of people in this world who can see -- though they can't really read. Some can read -- but they're pretty much slow. While others cannot really read at all. :) Thank you for this wonderful post. It made my day :) Cheers! I hope for a brighter day for you too!

Hi, jajamasorong, and welcome to myLot Yeah, I was not thinking that not everyone can´t read even if they can see. There is a lot of illiteracy in the world, so we are privileged in some countries as we can learn it at school while we are young children. Something to be thankful for - reading gives us so much joy.. Wish you a great day..

Yes, I'm very grateful that I can see! It's hard for me to imagine what it would be like not to be able to see! I used to travel a lot and if I couldn't see, I would have missed out on so much! It's amazing all the little things we take for granted, isn't it? I'm also thankful that I can hear. I love music and enjoy singing. I probably wouldn't be able to sing if I couldn't hear music. I volunteer at a therapeutic riding center here in town and I'm also getting some riding lessons out there. One of the instructors has had me to walk and trot on horseback with my eyes closed. The idea was to make me feel the movement of the horse and concentrate on that. It felt kind of weird at first but after a while, it felt awesome.

Yes, traveling would be a lot different if we couldn´t see. But somehow those who are blind or deaf still find the life enjoyable. That is the miracle of the human mind!

Yeah, johnpillai there are many things we take for granted. Most of us have a relative health and can move without help. That is a great freedom we have. It is great to think of all the small things in life and thank our Creator for them, because they make us feel so much better.
