that Wikipedia takes donations at this time of year? I wasn't. I saw a banner at the top of the site when I was googling for info on a subject mentioned on my favorite show Conspiracy Theory this evening from the founder, Jimmy Wales, appealing to us for help. I use this site all the time and it is VERY informative. I honestly don't know what I would do for valid and updated information if it were not around anymore. Well, I made my meger but obviously needed donation and I hope ....well, you know. Do you use this site? Is it worth keepin around? Your thoughts.

It wasn't a show. It was a banner above the site. I just wanted to let people know.

I use it a lot. Of course sometimes information provided there is incomplete or needs to be revised. But without it a lot of people would simply stay dumb. I'd say that what I learned on the Inet so far was at least 50% Wiki-based. It also contains a lot of valuable links for further reading and information. I think in addition to donations they could also earn some money from registering. If everyone who registers there would need to pay a small fee, say $2, that would probably work and increase quality as well as those who want to do ''damage'' to the site by writing misleading information would be discouraged by that fee.

I like the site. I have never seen them ask for money. It is worth keeping. Lately, I need all my $. We have school taxes in Sept, but it takes three payments of Sept., Oct, and Nov. Then we have Christmas and land tax starts in January, three payments means January, Feb. and Mar then we have to try to catch up on paying for fuel oil. If the little bit I make here doesn't make much difference either way, for paying any of those bills, I might send it. But if I'm only $10 away from finishing paying for something, then no.

I REALLY like the site and use it all the time. It has the most information on a given subject and I just thought it interesting they asked for donations.

I can certainly understand that, especially this time of year. I just wanted to make people aware that some of these sites we enjoy does cost something to keep up. Makes me feel alittle more thankful.

I love that site. I use it for personal use but I am not allowed to use it for research in school. I wish I could though.

Yes, I use this site soetimes and I think it's worth keeping. I know you're probably tired of me saying that I'm living on a fixed income. It's true, though, so I can't afford to give a donation. I do hope it stays around, though.

No, Dear, I never tire of the truth. And I feel same way.
