I am willing and able to be screened but I will not be patted down at the airport! Sorry! I didn't do anything wrong so why should I be frisked? I heard they are even patting down young children? Oh Great! After a parent tells his/her children that no stranger should ever touch them , they get to the airport and they Have to be patted?!I can imagine that child screaming not only during the patting but during the whole flight. Am I glad I don't Have to fly! All I do know is I will Never let a stranger touch me. I was taught if anyone touches me , I was the right to kill them and with my temper I fear I Would try to kill them. Thanks for reading . I feel So much better now! Your thoughts.

Yep, full blown integration and adoption of our very own form of Gestapo right here in the US. So far, I haven't seen anything good come out of the powers of Homeland Security. Durring the Gulf oil Spill, they sure made their presence known while trampling Constitutional Freedoms of free speech of our reporters. While you are on your rant, be sure to read about the criminalization of seed saving and growing your own garden. That will really get your blood boiling. My daughter (age 10 years) and I recently had to fly. I got through the screening process without anything happening but she had to be patted down. It was a lady who did it and she was really nice but I was really unhappy at my daughter being touched by a complete stranger. We both have passports and neither of us have ever done anything criminal ever. I don't think you are allowed to just kill someone for touching you though.

Well that's different for some reason she beeped. It isn't like they picked her out to be searched Or that they are patting down Every child. There is going to be a revolt. I heard there is going to be a protest this Wednesday. Many are going to refuse to be patted down. This is going to be fun to watch!

It wasn't Manchester Airport was it? I don't like travelling from there anymore..it's over-the-top security like the US..or maybe it was one of the London airports? I don't have any children but I would've gone berserk if my kid was patted down like that. It's totally unncecessary in my view.

I'm not sure that a human being has the right to kill another human being but I guess in some places capital punishment is just that. My daughter and I fly every couple of years and this is the first time this has happened. We were flying from a UK airport to a US airport and she was patted down in the UK airport. She "beeped" when she went through the detector. I didn't beep. If I thought she was going to be touched by a stranger each time then yes, I would think twice about flying.

sarahruthbeth22, FYI, patting down at the airport is not done on every passenger - it is only applied on selected profiled few whom the security have reasons to be concern. In my travels so far, I've rarely been patted down or been asked to be thoroughly searched. Just to let you know that I average about 70 trips a year and this form of security check has occurred less than 5 times. Of these, the flights that I am flying on were carrying dignitaries and certain government diplomats where security was understandably heightened. I say just don't be overly concern but to be wary on how you carry yourself at the airport during check in and immigration clearance. Leave those worries like whether you've turned off the stove at home somewhere else or throw unnecessary tantrums as if the whole world had offended you. Not that you cannot do it but at least till you've boarded the flight. Sometimes, people are just asking to be treated with suspicion and trouble. On the hindsight, I am concern about those body x-ray scans because there's still not enough proven science that there's no radiation risk. So, till today these machines have yet to be broadly introduced or implemented. I hope that this is not going to hinder your from taking a flight for your holidays or business trip. Take care and have a nice day.

That id 5x too many! And having some guard pick out whom he wants to violate doesn't make it any better. I am nice until you try o touch me, Then They will either have to kill me or I will kill them. I don't have to fly and as all these fascists things keep coming up, I won't fly . it is safer for the guards Believe me!

P.S. I am sorry to have forgotten to add this about the radiation exposure concern from Airport X-ray scanner. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1330857/Terrorists-likely-cancer-airport-body-scanners-scientist-claims.html

It is sad to think that the terrorists have won and changed our way of life. Instead of having to enjoy the advances in technology (like flying), we have to subject ourselves to backward practices, like patting. We've become paranoid just because of a few rotten apples in the world. I fly once in a while because of work. I know that flying should be safer, but I surely don't appreciate being patted down by strangers.

You just don't appreciate it , I see it as a violation and I won't Stand for it. I would Never take a job where I Had to fly, even before 911. Back then I Knew if I flew , the plane would crash. The first Time I flew I knew I was going to die but at that time I didn't care. I didn't and it was ok , but I won't fly until I am guaranteed my dignity will remain intact.

HI Sarah, It has become a bad bad world out there thanks to a bunch of idiots and a whole lot of politicians who have created them. Though I know I would never fly in my life(not because I am scared but have no destination to fly to) yet, I can feel how miserable it is these days... Not only at the airports, there are many other places if you like to visit you have to get screened. I never go to such places and yes, it would be an unwelcome thing for me if I had to go through all of that. Cheers, theSids.

The last time I rode a real train, not the metro, was long ago. I doubt they have a scanner or guards assaulting people.

No Scanners on Railway Platforms? Here we have a few but no one uses them.

I went to the USA last month. It required three flights on the way there and I had to go through security EVERY time I went through an airport. I'm used to going through security on this side of the ocean and the USA side, but what was the point of going through another in a European airport? Had I magically sucked bomb making components from thin air and placed them in my bags? Since I got through security apparently not. The other thing that annoyed me - I went through the metal detector and got no reaction, but got a full body pat down anyway on the way out. Fortunately I was so sleep deprived (3 hrs in the previous 36 at this point) it didn't hit me until I was halfway across the sea how weird that was. I went through the omg you're naked scanner on the way home. Again, majorly sleep deprived by this point, I wasn't aware of the health risks associated with it and if I had been I would have refused. To misquote a British comedy show - we have to show our genitals to a man in a booth and be felt up by a bunch of cops. Surely the terrorists have won now?

I just got my passport done, I think that should be the ultimate "I'm not a terrorist" card right? ;) But at the same time I have to believe that if they pat me down they will pat the next girl or guy and maybe even catch someone doing something stupid... I don't know. But I do notice cops don't ask me for ID when they pull me over for random checks when I have a low cut shirt... wonder if that will work at the airport when I leave in january for jamaica or if it will cause a cavity search LOL

things have gotten absolutely crazy at airports. I use a wheelchair for long distances, and walking through an airport is considered too much walking for me. I got a pat because it was my wheelchair, not theirs. Hell, they gave me a damn pat down when I took my step-son to the airport in Phoenix. And those stupid i-can-see-you-naked cameras aren't much better!

I belong to your category wherein I cannot be frisked or touch me. It gives a very bad feeling which cannot be expressed. Hope someone stops frisking at Airports especially children who will not know anything. Instead of frisking and patting down they can use some camera wherein they can make out what is their in the person.

I fly quite a bit and don't like either options.....not because I would try to hide things but I really think it's an invasion of your privacy....I don't want anyone touching me....and I don't want anyone to see right through my clothes either.....if I was 25 and had a good body maybe.....not now!

I feel the opposite about the screening . With my exterior they Won't Want me so it is ok. But No One is going to touch me! I just had a evil thought . I wonder if the guards can rig the machine to go off when a person they Want to assault goes through?

Couldn't agree more. I once had a bad experience at the airport when my daughter was a toddler. She was barely 18 months old. Some person previously had tried to sneak an item through in their kids diaper. (This was in a Florida airport) The TSA agent attempted to remove my daughters diaper! I made a stink, and nearly missed my connecting flight. that was several years ago. I can only imagine what it is like today. I haven't flown in over a year.

I would not like that either! I would feel very uncomfortable if I would fly! I feel sorry for the little children! They are probaly scared out of their minds and some probaly don't understand what is going on! It is bad enough airports have to take so many precautions to avoid idiots on the planes but come on! Just do the scanner thing and no patty down anyone!

You were taught wrong. You just can't kill anyone that touches you. That would be saying you don't wanna be checked at all. There are standards that are done for your own safety as well, you have to understand that.

I will go through a scren. That's fine. But to let a stranger touch me Will Never Happen. I was taught correctly why? I most have that aura becaue No One touches me without my permission. And that's the way it Should be.

TSA does not make us safe, its been proven. They just give us something to do. It's like back in the 60s. Duck and cover would save us from an atom bomb. Soon the only people who will be flying is the terrorists and people who will risk their freedom doing something stupid. Think about it.

I agree! First to stop flying is parents and their children. They will Not fly with a frighten child. And then will be the beautiful people because they Know they are just a cheap tril for the guards and then the rest .
