I can't believe what I saw!

I'm walking home from picking my daughter up at the bus stop. A neighbor of ours up the street turns into his own drive way and hits his other vehicle..a van! I know that I stopped pushing the stroller and gawked..I just couldn't believe it. When the guy got out to examine the damage..I couldn't help it, I almost laughed..My daughter was saying "Mom did you see that he hit his own van!" Have you ever seen anyone damage their own property before?

Not too long ago I was backing my truck out of our driveway and I hit the fence...hard. It's a wooden fence, about four feet high and that entire section almost hit the ground. The reason I hit the fence is because my husband decided that our camper should live in the driveway so I have to pull in and out in an angle...which I forgot to do because I was distracted by HIM!

I'll be willing to bet he didn't take much responsibility though, huh..

I may be the oddball here, but I'm not laughing. Yes he was careless, and stupid if you please, but I still feel his pain. Recently, someone I work with hit a second vehicle while backing out of his driveway. He mainly knocked the sideview mirror off, but he felt really foolish. I have also heard of people running into their garages. Thinking of how hard it is to make the money stretch already, to think of wasting money like that is painful.

And I see your point. It is humorous, especially through the eyes of a child that would probably not even think such a thing was possible.

I was mainly laughing at my daughter's shock, but yes I see your point.

I used to live next door to an old lady who scraped her garage every single time she pulled in or out of it. If that were me I'd probably stop parking in the garage!

How about spilling your own coffee in your own table. Like dropping your beloved expensive newly purchased cellphone in the toilet bowl with lots of your$$$ in there, so yucky right. Just wonder will you get it back? How about having just do your laundry and you finally realized you have left some hundred dollar bills on there and when you run to get it, already turn in two or worst of all were tiny bits of pieces left. We do things we never though possible and it is a bit frustrating maybe because were being careless all the time. It's human error that needs to be avoided at all cost because we might damaged other properties not ours in the next run.

Perhaps it was not carelessness. Illness, or a malfunction in the braking system could have done it. Years back I was a supervisor at a KFC. One of the workers, a lazy one whom I had to chase off the phone or out of chair at times while she was on the clock, just did not like me after some time. I went to make a delivery one day. Pulled up behind a car. Bumped it. Later I found out there was a gash in my brake line.

those are good points. I wonder if he checked the car he was driving in? I have to admit I didn't think of that.

Haha it is quite funny yes, i've never saw with my eyes someone damaging his property but i know many cases of people doing so for example i've got a friend that got completely mad about a soccer match that he completely broke the washbasin in the bathroom, his family was really mad and he had to take big punishment + he had to pay it with his own money.

I would have laughed too. I can't imagine hitting my own car in my own driveway. I would enjoy seeing it happen as it would show that someone else would be as goofy as me though. I could see not paying attention and doing something stupid.

He might have been talking on his cell and was distracted. Surely he didnt do it on purpose. My dad drove through his garage door by accident as his foot slipped off the break pedal and hit the gas pedal. We were happy he wasnt hurt and now he makes sure theres no snow under his boots in the winter. I also drove right into a ditch once as I was backing out of the driveway. Nobody could understand how it happened because of the way the car was positioned. Everybody thought I was driving IN the driveway when I was actually backing OUT of it. I have hypoglycemia and if I go too long without food, I do goofy things and always hope that nobody is around to laugh at me!!

That was really funny. I've never seen anybody trying to destroy their own property yet and I believe that if that neighbor was in his right mind, he wouldn't do such a thing. Was he drunk or just plain stupid? Something must have been going on in his mind when he did that.
