I was walking in, and there was this young woman with her low cut jeans and her thong underwear sticking up above that. And I'm just wondering, am I the only person on the plant who sees that and immediately thinks of scissors? Later on a guy came by and asked me about his cat. Apparently his wife is expecting a baby, and they have a Persian cat, and he's not sure they're going to be able to properly take care of it. So I told him that I had three children when I had cats, and was perfectly able to take care of the cats, but that if he was going to give the cat up, he should find it a good home, and not take it to a city shelter, because they euthanize too many animals. So he walks off, and then I see him over looking at dog beds, leaving inquiring minds wondering if he had a dog, and if he was thinking of giving the dog up too. Or perhaps he just decided that he would rather have a puppy. Sigh...

No, I never think of scissors, but that girl is way behind the times. I think last year they were saying the g'string look above the hemline of the jeans is so outdated. As to the guy, some people will look for any excuse to dump their cats. As to the dog bed.. maybe he was thinking it's cheaper than a cot or bouncenette for his new baby.. you gotta admit, some of those dog beds look REALLY comfy!!

Maybe that's where the wife is making him sleep because having a husband in the bedroom isn't good for a baby! :D

Or maybe when the child is born , he may get rid of it too!. I'm so sorry I Had to say it. It is sad that people can't keep their 4 legged children along with their 2 legged ones. The Only reason I can Totally go with is Having to give up a dog or cat because their newborn is allergic! That is so sad But necessary.

Yesss.... Hi! We're having a baby. If it turns out to be too demanding, can we give it back? Maybe we should have a vacuum cleaner instead.

Hopefully she was at least skinny... I used to work with a girl who liked to show off her thong.. but she was shorter than 5 foot and weighed more than 150 lbs. EWWW! I personally think dogs are a lot more difficult to handle, and I certainly would not want to get a puppy around the same time as having a baby! He probably just wasn't a cat person so was using the pregnancy as an excuse to get rid of it. Maybe he made a deal with his wife.. "I'll let you have a baby if you let me get rid of the cat and get a puppy!"

We all go through a phase of wearing ridiculous clothing that makes us look ridiculous. I would think "scissors" too I thongk. The soon to be daddy must have been awash with paternalism when looking at puppies. I remember when cats were gotten rid of when a baby was coming because it was thought the cat would smother the baby.

it does get to be old in a hurry I got 2 cats because the woman's daughter was having a baby, and her husband wanted her to get rid of the cats. I'd've gotten rid of the husband myself...

Yes, scissors! My granddaughter and I have an ongoing joke between us about this very subject. Now days you just do not know what is going through 99.9% of people today. Is it because I am getting old or what? I hate to even think of all the animals being euthanized. So many things I feel bad about and can't do much to change. I hope he does what is right by the cat.

I guess I'm hopelessly old fashioned, but I just can't get over the idea that underwear are not supposed to be showing... And yeah hopefully he does right by kitty. We had a 9 year old cat returned yesterday. She was so sweet. Her owners had had her declawed and then (predictably) she developed litter box issues.

I guess I am too. (my grandmother would turn over in her grave. SHe raised me and she used to have fits when she'd see girdle or tampon commercials.)My granddaughter really had to do some talking for me to let her get those kind of undies. I would think they would be VERY uncomfortable. Returning a nine year old cat. My goodness. I remember when I was about nineteen and had neighbors that my husband and I socialized with who had had their beautiful siamese cat declawed. I grew up around cats. We always had 8 or 10 mousers and never had any declawed. To me it was a horrible thing. So unnatural. And how is a cat going to protect itself if it should happen to get out of the house? Litter box issues. Poor thing.

Maybe the guy wants to get rid of the cat and get a puppy instead? That is my guess. If it not that I have no idea! If he does get rid of cat I hope he doesn't do something stupid with it like take it to the pound or just let it defend for itself! With the woman with the jens and thing underwear I would of love to see you at least try and cut the thongs with a scissors! Wearing your clothes like that should be kept in the bars and night clubs! Not in the daylight!

Hummmm...well I have a dog and a cat, and where I love them both equally, our cat is far easier to take care. You don't have to walk the cat, and they are instantly "potty" trained. Oh well, I guess to each his own. I have heard "stories" about cats jumping into cribs and almost smothering babies and maybe the wife is starting to panic a bit. I also had dogs and cats around when all three of my kids were infants and never had any problems.

That really is sad about the guy with the cat. As far as the thong thing goes, no you are definitely not the only one that sees them sticking out and immediately things about a pair of scissors. I actually think about them every time that I see someone's underwear pulled up higher than their jeans, but it is even worse when it is thongs I guess because I really can't understand how there is anyone that is ever comfortable in them.

I had not thought of the scissors. Thanks. I basically try to avert my gaze when confronted with such a sight. As far as the guy with the Persian and possibly the puppy. I know that there are reasons and myths that still survive about cats and babies etc. One is the cat tray myth. I asked my vet, a woman, who worked through her pregnancies. She set up a crib in the office. Her three children grew up there. She said that she had been around cats all of her life and if she was going to get it, she has already had it and she, and the baby are immune. She teaches college level anatomy and physiology and microbiology. So if they have had the cat awhile they probably are immune to the disease, but it also is prevalent in dog feces. The other myth is about a cat "swallowing the breath" of a baby. Not happening. If he thinks a puppy is easier than a cat, he has got to be insane.

He should at least give the situation a chance. They say a ton of people give puppies etc for gifts not realizing how much work is involved. But with that work comes rewards. My son and his wife had their dog first....now my granddaughter and Britt....their pug, are the very best of friends!

And cats don't even take the kind of training that puppies do... I suspect he had a dog too, but was only thinking of getting rid of the cat. Sad.

I like to think of an icecube when I see that kind of thing..lol...anyway...It is terrible the displaced pets and like another responder mentioned there is the concern of cats and babies. I remember hearing the old superstition that a cat would take a baby's breath..later it kind of hit me that cats really like milk...lol...anyway...I have had cats with my children when they were babies and there have never been problems..no more than with dogs and I think that with tiny ones I might even be more concerned with a dog. I love my tiny dogs but cats were my pets of choice before them.

It just grosses me out when I see women in low ride jeans with their underwear hanging out. One day I was on the bus and this young man got on, for pete's sake his pants were hanging down to his knees and you could see all of his underwear. I don't understand young people's attitudes today They just don't seem to care about much as far as pets are concerned. They just give animals away without giving it a second thought. To me it's very upsetting because I have animals in my life and I couldn't just give them away.

Heck, if people would take care of their animals, they could let their underwear hang out all over the place far as I'm concerned,

Whenever i see thongs sticking out like that, i immediately think of whale tales. Lol. Poor cat. He should just lend it to a friend so they can focus on the baby. When they're comfortable enough with the child, they can take the cat back.

Whale tails haha. She was built a little bit like a whale too... I don't know about lending out the cat. Cats don't take well to change. Still, it's better than dumping it at a shelter...

I was reading your discussion and got a bit confused as I could not figure out if this was about the thong, dog, cat or baby?? So my conclusion would be to get the scissors cut the thong and give it to the man to tie a ribbon around the cat, do not worry about a dog as he has a new baby coming and well that is my story. As for women with their thong thingies hanging out, it is not attractive and they are meant to simply cover the front...LOL.. I know as I am a pro...
