I am also recovering from depression which strikes me in 1997 and until now I couldn't hang on to a job I do because I am depressed. For your question, it is possible for a person to earn on the net if he has skills or idea which majority of us don't know. Then he could succeed in online world. May I know how much do you know about computers and information technology?

I wish you a speedy recovery from depression. I have been that way not since about 2005. It's very tough. Sometimes now, I'm having better days, but still have a way to go. We have about the same number of responses. Be blessed!

dweebs that depends on so many things its hard to answer. I think you'll really need something you can do part time off the net even with your disability, there may be jobs you can do in spite of your injuries and then just do some extra stuff on the net. I really do not see how you can make a great income on the net.

I guess homed based should be enough for simple living. IF one is looking forward to luxury living or more, home based earnings will never be enough because we have overheads to take into account to.. lol =D BUt when we are out working, employers pays for our salary and we need not care about bills, overheads etc. In order to earn comfortably online, ratio of earnings to electricity bills must be fairly huge.. haha

Sorry to hear about your accident. I think that the majority of items can be done from home online. Reaching out in your area for folks to help or do a website may take some time but could be well worth your time. Blogs are a great way to reach out and let people know what you have to offer. Have you checked out www.guru.com? Just one to put on your list. Good luck!

hI, Dweebs I didn't know that you had an accident. Sorry to hear that, dear. Earning home based is a case to case basis. some gets lucky doing it and had their business flourished. Some are not as lucky as others are. If you have a site that pays all the bills, put food on your table, then why not. Home based jobs is all you need then. Good luck. I am hoping and praying that your condition and situation will get better.

I don't really think that you are able to support a family single handedly when you are working online exclusively. At least not at first. Last year was the first year that I was really trying to make money online and what I was able to make was barely even a drop in the bucket for our family. However, I've also found that the longer you do it, the better that you are able to do. That said, I think that it is possible to replace a full time income with working from home but it will take a long time to build up to that point.

Hi Sir Dweebs! I have been working as freelance for a year now. I cannot say that what I earn is enough from home based jobs. Probably because my goal is to surpass what I was then earning when I had a full time Paralegal and HR Officer employment. Though, based on other people's experience on home based jobs, many are successful. Perhaps, we need to have a positive view on that. If it is not enough, then work harder and take some risks too. The risk though is sometimes crucial because it involves time and investment. If you have both, then you can leap higher than what you are presently earning. For this year, I want to have a goal that "if they can be successful on Home based jobs, why can't I"...

With the advancement of this new technology, employment online has a promising future. So yes, it is possible to make a living online only if you are computer savvy. I've read that people are making tons of money through blogging or selling online. But it is easy said than done as it entails careful planning and probably take years to take off. But once you're established it is real money pumping in your bank even while you sleep.

hi dweebs, home based seems to be not enough. am sure that having an education and diploma, it is going to be easy to work being employed as well. only, the job has to jive with the physical condition. if having difficulty walking, i guess call centers can be good especially for beautifully voiced people, with good diction and a patient mind. maybe you can add up to possible kind of work? thank you for this discussion. have a nice day. ann

Sorry to hear about your accident an loss of your job as a result. My thinking is that maybe something offline even if it is a day or two per week would be healthy as this way you can surround yourself with others. Although it would be nice to get rich off the net it will take time and persistence. Certainly attainable but you also have to do something outdoorsy also. Especially when first starting out as online income alone is not enough. I began doing independent contracting which does require me to come back and do all my work online but it helps to get out sometimes.

I think it depend on the job you get from online. A friend of mine is working full time online. He found the job through Odesk. In less than a year he was promoted to managerial position and he received more than enough for his salary.

It actually all depends on the situation. And now that you're into home-based jobs, how was it for you? You can answer your own question if you'll analyze on it. Is your earnings enough? Are you happy with what you're doing? Does it fulfill you? There are lots of factors to say that doing home-based jobs is already enough. But still, it is up for the person which is in the situation. :)

Hi there dweebs, What subject do you teach? Actually there are some online jobs out there where you can still apply your profession. Teach online! All you need to do is computer and internet connection. You can able to earn as much as you are getting monthly being a regular teacher. God bless you too! Good luck!
