For Christmas my oldest sister gave my younger sister and I the same thing. A basket with wine in it and also oil mixed at an Italian restaurant that is seasoned etc for dipping special bread in. The basket also included a freshly baked loaf of cheddar/garlic bread. Well I put mine in the freezer when I got home and am saving it until the kids come to visit and my younger sister and I tried some of hers this weekend when I stayed at her house...well that bread was just nasty! It was a cheese bread with garlic in it....and when I say garlic in it I mean there were big hunks of cloves throughout the bread! We could taste it yet the next day! Her husband didn't even like it and threw his out! Have you ever gotten a bread that has tasted just nasty to you? This had cheddar cheese melted inside too..it smelled wonderful..tasted nasty! LOL

hi jillhill once I tried some bread that had the same combo bu t the garlic was just barely slivers so you just got a mild taste and the cheese was gorgeous. now had the garlic been in huge chunks I woulds not have liked it either. trader Joes here in california has the best wgike grain combos and they are so so good too. wow.yes anything as potent as garlic can be overdone.unlike nuts oh I love cheddar cheese bread with walnuts orpecans. Cheese I can take a lot of it lol

In India, especially in my state(andhra pradesh), we are eating Rice three times in a daily. And we are using the bread as a fast food, or we brought it to to my relatives who are in hospitals to see them.

Was this bread something your sister made or bought? Because I have tried bread with cheddar and chunks of garlic, but I think they were dehydrated pieces and it was really good. Then again, I really love garlic..;)

She bought it at a wonderful Italian restaurant where she had the oil seasoned...it smelled so good! But it was horrid to get a chuck of garlic in a bit...even my BIL couldn't eat it!

Sounds like the garlic cheese bagels I bought a few months ago. Not a good combination...

tHAT'S TOO BAD. I don't guess i have ever had a bread like that. I miss bread being fresh like it use to be. I'm talking loaf bread. Most of it takes old & stale to me when u get it at the grocery.

I have had cheese bread before...without garlic though, and it is delicious. When you were describing it, I assumed that the garlic would be little pieces...not chunks. It shounds like I would like this type of thing.....but maybe not. Too bad....take your out of the freezer, break it into chunks and feed it to the birds.

Ew, that does sound gross. I'm so sorry the bread was so disappointing. I've never had really nasty bread, thankfully!

I love garlic but that sounds like too much of a good thing. They should have just stuck to the cheese because there is no such thing as too much cheese!LOL
