Karma - does it exist?

Hello pals, i'm watching serial movie every day and it's about karma. Some funny situations, one person made a list with everything bad he did in his life, after that he started to look for the people he acted bad with and tried to make it up to all of them with doing something good for their life. Actually the guy was criminal before, he did robberies, he laughed at the people for some of their defects, at school he was harass to some kids - later when he met that people he understood that the final result, when they has grown up and how they live as grown up is not so good, because of his attitude for them. So now i'm thinking ... i remember for myself - when i was kid, i had closed attitude because of some reasons in my past. As a teen i was closed in myself too, because of other reasons in my past. But when i started to work with people i had the chance to meet so many of them, trying to help them with my job. Doesn't matter what i worked, i was always on their side. I've been seller in whole my life, but always on the side of the clients. You know these tricky stuff every company makes to sell their products. I worked for the customers, not for the company... and that helped me really a lot with my job, because people could see that i'm trying to work for their pleasure, trying to save them money from buying something useless, instead of that offering them something specially for their needs - i could win their respect and they were my clients for long time. When i was selling food, i could meet every day one old woman who were saving paper boxes and who was selling them to company for paper, who gave her some money for the paper. I felt sorry about here, she had so calm blue eyes, that i was impressed. She was coming to us every day to ask for boxes. Girls from my team was saying her - please, leave the shop, you look as a beggar, but she was something like 70 years old an later i could know her better. I started to smoke near the garbage because of her, trying to talk to her. Soon i understood that her daughter is sick and she care for her and her grand sons, every day i was giving her little bags with some food - as much as i could afford at the moment from our shop. On my next job i met one gypsy, who was begging for money on the street. Her legs was sick, all read like she was burned from something, but she wasn't burn, it was because of health problem. She was a woman, caring for her son, living in one old and nearly broken house, the owner left the house years ago and she used it for the moment. I knew it's not so much, but i gave her money for bread every day with the money from begging she could buy stuff, probably, but i wanted to know that i'm bit useful for her. I remember my life ... i was really happy. Not because of helping, just because everything else was o.k.. I had great friends and could trust them for everything, my family was o.k., i felt like my life has sense. Even if something bad happened it didn't last too long ... just bad things happened around me, not exactly to me. Now my question is do you believe in the karma? Some people call it God, some people call it luck, others call it karma. I don't want that discussion to be religious, i want it to be for sharing some experience. Do you believe that if you do something good sooner or later that good thing will be back to you from some other side?

I believe in those words Suggar, that what you do today, somehow comes back at some point. I am not a lucky person, as I have worked really hard to achieve all I have, although I have lost easily. I am a true believer of karma, and be it that some feel that it is a bad charm, I do not see it this way. I see it as If I do good, eventually good comes back. If I do bad, I should not EXPECT good at all. Also for me, is that I believe in God, whether others believe in God or not is fine with me. I simply believe that there is a reason for everything in life, which clings back to Karma!

I believe in God too hun, just didn't want to see religious fights here, because that's not the point of the discussion. I feel great knowing that you believe in karma. We have one more similar things in our characters and i'm proud that we have. Somehow i started to believe in karma long ago, just last years didn't think about that. But i explained myself everything with God or great luck also - lately, when i have bad moments ... in the last moment it happens some unexpected good thing and i am more than happy.

lol Suggar, Anytime I see a discussion with God written in it, somehow I always like to write, whether people believe in God or not, is fine by me, only because some that do not get so upset. It is like they are not reading what we actually are saying. So lol, I have been putting in that disclaimer because while you and I are on or about other areas members read and once they see the word God, they get upset. Shame how we can not express ourselves at times because some people instantly get the bad impression right away. lol Hey anything picking up for you these days?

Hi there, It is a very interesting topic to discuss. I am a spiritual person but i will not go deep into spirituality, rather will discuss a scientific explanation based on my personal experience. When I was a kid, i used to wonder as to why wrong things happen to me only. Lately I came across a saying which is from Bhagwat Gita, "The way you feel, the same way things happen to you." This means if you think positive, you attract and release positive thoughts and as a result of which you do good things and good things happen to you. This remains the same with negative thoughts. So when you do positive things, you automatically attain positive karnma and vice versa. I am not saying that you have to condemn your negative thoughts, but we can give a positive direction to our thoughts to attain positive karma and believe you me, it is not impossible. So once the karma is attained, we have to bear the fruits if it may be good or bad.Karma is so powerful in its nature that if you believe in God, even he can only bless you to bear your karma and cannot change it.

Thanks a lot for sharing BeachLover, i believe in the same - the world we live in is the mirror of our personality. If we are bad people, we will find company with people, who are doing bad things too, so soon after that we will receive what we give and what we do. If we are good people, the good things will turn back to us when we need them. Positive thinking is something great. It has his own waves of thinking and i believe it effects on our living really a lot.

HI Suggar, There are two ways that people think here at my place and I also believe the world across - Fate and Karma. And it is how you look at things. The other words I find are Positive thinking and Negative thinking. Those who believe Faith say that the Karma too is dependent on Faith and those who believe in Karma say the faith depends on Karma. I have heard both sides and both sound convincing. For me, I believe in none as none to me are familiar. But yes, I believe in doing what I feel, think is correct. But yes, sometimes, somewhere I do believe that everything I do will have some impact somewhere and that somewhere it will be me who will be affected. Call this belief Karma or Faith, I dont know. But quite often I do feel that if this was my 100% belief, then why I am suffering and in pain... I did not hurt anyone and this is why I dont think about it. But that does not deter me from doing what I want to do.

Oh, sorry to know about the stones in the kidney of your boyfriend. If you can get some homeopath doctors and treatment, it would be great because my dad had this problem some 15-20 years back and it was quite severe. The Doctors recommended a Surgery as the only way out but the homeopathy did wonders without any surgery and he was cured withing 25 days and no stones. Yes, I agree that at times we are put to test by God and some tests finish soon

Nothing helps him, actually, for his pains. Unfortunately there is no pills, not medicine about this hurts.

Hello Sid, last night me and my boyfriend talked about that, because he has stones in his kidneys and he is suffering from the pains all the time - his body is blocked and he hardly move, he can't walk long time, because of the pains, he just can't stop the pain and there is no pill which can help him. So last night we were talking about God and why if there is God he is feeling such pains, because he hasn't done anything bad to no one. I don't know the answer of the question. What i want to believe now is that we have test in different times in our life, when we are tested for being patient, tolerant, peaceful and everything else, so i strongly believe that these health problems are just kind of test and they will finish soon. I cross fingers about that, because when someone around me is in pains, it effects to me too.

Hi there! First of all, I believe I seen the show before. Well, I really believe in karma. What goes around, comes around. Well, I used to do many things in the past but now, I am trying to do good and I guess it is slowly working. At least, I can sleep at night feeling good.

You are totally right - what goes around, comes around! I believe that karma comes to us in the most important moments when we really need help. Our own system is not so right for what is important and what is not, but the life shows us which is really important and which must be on second place. Thanks for sharing.

I really believe in karma. I am also afraid of it. Karma is our olden rule. In other words for it, "Don't do to others what you don't want to do to you." I a having a proof a existence of karma everyday. Karma became my way of living. It also made me make a good choice; do good or bad. When I started to believe in karma, it made my life better and happier. I became peaceful and righteous. I became closer to God and I less worry in my problems. Well, that is what karma is for me.

Thank you for sharing Blacksun, there are two things i love in that way of thinking - first you feel pleased of yourself when you help the others, second is that good thing you did will be back to you in some important and hopeless moment in your life when you lost your hope.

greetings! no one can really prove that it exists, but i believe in karma. good begets good. it's almost the same as the golden rule. although in the philippine context, karma is more the immediate kind, and not in the next lifetime type. when one does something bad to you, you expect something bad will happen to that person almost immediately. it's like the digital version of karma, or should i say karma 2.0? LOL

Still i'm not sure that there are second, third and more life. For now i have only that which i live now and don't remember for the fast, can't see the future, so my believe is that everything happens in the period of our present staying here.

Usually people, who are with positive thinking appreciate much more the signs they receive from the life or fate. Some people say - how can you be happy with "that" (something very simple and enjoyable) i answer - it could be worst.

yes, i do believe in karma. also though if you develop a bad reputation with people then after so long your stuck with it and then its too late. you basicly run out of chances to show them your not a bad person.

True. Reputation is something really important for some people. But i hope that everyone who has done bad things in his life will realize some day how good is for him to be a good person, doing nice things for the others. It gives peace in the hard and joy to the soul.

I most certainly believe in karma. I have noticed that when I do positive things and create positive energy, I have better luck. Even when seemingly negative things happen to me, later they lead to something good. I believe that this is because I have good karma. Sometimes bad things just have to happen, but I don't believe that these negative things happen to "good" people unless it is for the greater good, so to speak.

For me the reason which is making good things to happen for you is because you build good energy around yourself, positive and nice and that's what expect you in future.

I am a believer of karma. I don't believe in taking revenge on someone because of my belief in karma. I think if someone does something bad to me they will get it back (maybe worse) sometime in their lifetime so I don't have to lift a finger to get back at them. The same goes for good deeds. I think if someone does good, good will come to them. It's really nice to see the good that you've done for others. I'm glad that there are compassionate people in the world who are willing to look beyond exterior appearances to get to know a person in need.

The situations from my life was because of better explanation what is the discussion about, actually. Not a lot of people know about that experience i had in the past. That kind of things usually stay hidden, i don't feel proud of myself or something like that - it's normal for us, people, if we give hand to the others, who need it. Thanks for sharing friend.

i personally do not believe in karma. i like the face that it makes me feel good to help some one in need and to do something good. i don't do it for karma. i don't believe karma exists otherwise we will constantly be doing nice things for one another for personal gain. however, you do sometimes find something "good" happening to you after you help someone out...i personally do not believe in karma, but it's really your opinion.

Actually you are right, may be some people use it to gain the life, which would be gambling in soft form. Fortunately we don't talk about deliberately game with life and if i have to be honest i've seen with my own experience that doing something, which is not typical for you as a person and character, would be very very hard if you don't believe in yourself, if you don't believe in the meaning of the way of acting. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing Celeste, i think that people must appreciate the life they have more than it is now. Some live luxury life, others are homeless, hungry and poor. Kind of unfair situation. If more of us knew the values of the things - world would be much different.

I think doing good is a habit, and I don't believe karma at all. Doing good can bring me happiness and every time I help others, I can gain my pleasure as a reward. So I like to do good things. But everyone have done mistakes in their lives, we just try our best to be a good person. As for karma, I think is just about luck. Because I don't believe god or somethings else(no offense), so, all the things happened to us is randomly and have no relationship with the things we did before. For example, if you get hurt, it doesn't mean that you did something bad before and get paid back, and if you win a lottery, it doesn't because you did good things before.

What i wanted to be bold in the discussion is that this is not religious discussion, because i know how different can think people with different believes, so i hope nobody is insulted. You said that you believe in luck? Do you have some exact explanation when it works, like - you have to be on the right place in the right moment or you need to meet the right people, so your luck to visit you? I think there must be some algorithm

yes i do believe that..hehe good karma will come if you do good things and bad karma when doing opposite to that.. :) i really experienced that, bad karma came 'coz i did bad things even a small bad thing that you did..that karma will come.. :) so because of that im doing now the good things but then i can't control myself from doing bad things, so i did it sometimes.. heheh :)

How did you felt when you were doing nice things? I hope good. It can be our daily life. Actually nowadays people don't pay so much attentions to the values in life, they are more interested in better surviving, which is not bad, but the spiritual is so missing that sometimes we can't control ourselves.

suggar I do believe in karma that what goes around comes around and if you do anything mean to someone else its going to sooner or later come around and bite you in the butt.If you do good to people it gets returned to you doubled or tripled so its good karma or bad depending on how we treat one other.

Isn't this show called 'My name is Earl'? It has the same idea where he makes a list and tries to do something good to all the people that he's done wrong. To fix his karma. I do believe in karma. Or a higher power that would eventually judge us on how we do in life. And to make ammends if we ever cross the line.
