I am not a guy who loves to be serve by others even with simple task.I am not saying that I will reject others help but in stead of just taking it , I will first try to do it myself. I don't know why ? But I never feel comfortable to be serve if I can do those things myself. At the same time, I don't mind serving others at all if that person really needs help in anything. However, I don't like to help those people who can actually do things by themselves and who loves to take things for granted. No thanks, I only enjoy serving someone who really needs it and can't do the things by themselves.Perhaps it was due to my past training in social services. "Help those who help themselves" and "Help others and train them to solve the problem by themselves in the future"Well, what about you?Share with us?

For the most part I see myself as being a selfless person. In being a person that is selfless, I have learned that it is far better to serve other people than to be served by other people. In saying this I mean that I really like to take care of and help other people. It gives me the best feeling in my heart when I am able to help another person that is in need in some way. That is the reason that I like to serve other people.

I also feel uncomfortable of others serving me. As long as I can do it by myself, I am the one doing it. I don't like to be a burden with others. If I ask for help, I made sure that I don't sound demanding or bossy, I understand that others feel tired also.

Both really! It is always very nice to be able to help (serve) another person and that is a satisfying feeling. However, on those occasions when someone will serve me, either by helping me out or perhaps by serving me in a shop or restaurant then I am very pleased to accept their attention with thanks. It is a combination and a balance of these two things which make human interaction pleasurable.

For me I love to serve others because it is my nature and by doing this Jehovah God love me because he is the one who serve us first.

We are the same in saying that I am also not accustomed to be served by others. Even the task at hand is big, I try to do it on my own. I am not also used to asking favors from anyone. hehehe... As for serving others, I am used to that. Anyone who needs it, I will go to them anytime and anywhere. hehehe...

as far as i can remember i know since then i am always independent. since i was in high school i remember to wash my own uniforms and wash the plate after i ate. so if i can do it alone then i will do it alone. if i can not i will still try to do it if i can. then if i can not then i will ask help. now that i am married once in a while i feel like a king if my wife serves for me and on the other hand i serve her too like a queen.

Being an ex teacher and current tutor, I like to serve others. The way I do it though, they are the ones doing the work with my guidance. I am very good with computers. Yet when I work in a job, I find that the person who shows me how to do things, actually do the work and then expect me to do it. That's not how I learn. I learn by doing the work in front of you and then practicing the task. Don't show me and then leave with expectations that I learned the task. That's how I teach others. First I show them, then I watch and let them practice.

I am someone who prefers to serve others. I worked for most of the last nine years in a group home for mentally challenged adults. These people need an advocate and I gladly will advocate for them. I also am guilty of putting the needs of my husband and son before myself. I have been known to go shopping and buy things for them, but nothing for myself. Once in awhile I will indulge and buy myself a little something, but I want to make sure that my family has everything they need first.

Looing at the responses above, I am so encouraged we are all a bunch of people who loves to serve others. And why not? Most of us are in myLot to serve others too. To share our experience, knowhow and encourage others. That is considered serving too, isn't it? To serve is to show that we care to make a positive difference in someone's life. Hey, everyone, keep it up. Good work.
