Procrastination. Have you ever procrastinated and wished you hadn't?

When we are almost out of spring water from an actual spring, I procrastinate. Instead of getting it when the weather is warm, I wait until the water is all gone. Then the weather is terrible. Today was 30 degrees, almost out of water. Decided to go get some. Last time I waited and it went from 30 degrees to in the teens with sub-zero windchill factor. So what's your big procrastination?

Anything that involves housework or paperwork really. Which makes it doubly awful when I'm forced to do it. I'm particularly bad at doing the washing up up it builds up and then takes ages to do whereas it's easy to wash up a few dishes at a time. I also avoid putting laundry away, and if I'm not careful it ends up on the floor and needing washing again.

Very true, it's always worse when I wait, so I don't know why I do it. I guess because it's unpleasant. But true, the longer we wait, the more unpleasant it gets.

You know, my husband does enough procrastination for the both of us and that is why I get my work done a lot sooner than he does. Unless it is out of my hands, like my mid-term exam, I get things done pretty early..

I hope the math thing gets resolved Monday. My husband procrastinates when it comes to the telephone. He hates talking on one. Other than that, he's usually pretty good. Take care.

There was a time when I was offered a business opportunity. I was adamant to take it and so I procrastinated for long. When I inquired if I can still join, it was already closed for me. I should have joined early when it was offered to me. However, I learned from that experience. There are things that we need to do that we don't need to wait when everything is going smoothly. We can decide to take action because it may not pass our way again.

Very true, sometimes when we procrastinate, it's not a good thing for our future. Thanks and take care.

I procrastinated a lot especially when I was still a university student. Biggest I think was my term paper. I started doing it as soon as or professor approved my topic. And as time passed by and I was getting frustrated because there were only limited sources for my topic, I stopped in the middle of the semester while everyone was busy doing their papers. It was like I told myself I'd do it a week before the submission, then I ended up doing it 2 nights before the submission date. Talk about cramming! I wasn't able to study for my other subjects because I had to concentrate on my term paper. It was really really a disaster. But luckily, I still passed the subject. (:

Yeah, our professor did the same always telling us to do it one day at a time but the situation just won't allow me to do that 'cos I don't have books and sources to read. It just wore my patience thin. LoL Anyway, take acre, too. (:

Hello Writersedge, I believe my biggest procrastination ever was picking a career. It took me about a good 6 years to figure out what I truly wanted to do for a living. It kind of makes me sad, but as I think about it some people never figure it all the way out. I'm glad that I've figured it out and now working towards reaching that goal. Waiting so long has made me very impatience. I am so ready to get started and it's frustrating to have to wait and work my way up. But, hey that's how it goes. Great post...

Well, now you know what you want. I hope you do well. You didn't say what the career was.

I think the biggest procrastination I've ever had was when I was out of college I started a job at an investment firm. After six months, they decided to lay me off and give me a pretty nice severance package. But they still wanted me to come in and interview for two other positions that they had. Me being the young kid that I am, decided to postpone those interviews so I can go out and have fun. Eventually I forgot about the offers and just stayed unemployed to collect checks. A year and a half later, I'm out of checks but still unemployed. That would eventually put me on the road that will forever change me. I wouldn't say it was necessarily a bad thing, but there definitely was some regret in procrastinating my return to work.

Sometimes we learn some very important lessons about why we shouldn't procrastinate. Thanks and maybe this will help remind someone in a similar situation.

Just a couple of days ago I had a package to mail, but I didn't want to go to the post office that day, so I put it off. The next morning, it was snowing like crazy and cold, too. You'd think I would learn... but no... I had to go to the post office in bad weather. If I'd just listened to myself... ;)

I procrastinate about everything. Cleaning, organizing, paperwork. No one example. I will say that when I finally go ahead and get things done it feels so very good. I am glad you did not wait til the temps went down this time.

Yes, so am I. The temps are supposed to actually be warmer tomorrow, but I just got a weather warning, mixed paricipitation all day with half inch of ice thrown into the mix. I thought I was the only procrastination cleaner. I'm terrible about that. I hope to do better soon. Thanks and take care.

Procrastinating...who me? YES!! I really can find a reason to procrastinate about many things...but I think my two biggies are my taxes, and house projects that are big. Even if they are not big, I can procrastinate long enough to talk myself into making them big projects. Like I have had a new set of kitchen taps, since Dec. 29th (this year)! NOT INSTALLED! But you see, now I have decided that if I am going to replace the taps, I might as well do the sink at the same time..so now it has become a big project! I have the sink, I have the tools, I have the taps...just don't have the impetous to get the job done! Dang!

Maybe..yes, maybe NO! See that is procrastination! But, now that I have procrastinated, I am glad...because if I would have just put the taps in, when I first got them, I would not have remembered the "new to me" stainless double sink that I have in storage, that would be much easier to put in at the same time..and also, I have long wanted some shelves (more) under the sink...so a much easier job to do, when all is out from under the sink! SO, you see, I see some value in procrastinating....as now, I have re-thought it so much..all will be done when finished! Cheers!

Ah, mental planning is not the same as procrastination, that's called preporation.

Just think like Green Moo above. The longer you procrastinate, the worse the job becomes. The sooner you do it, the easier it becomes.

I am a major procrastinator! I have social anxiety so I do put off or have my kids do stuff for me that I would regularly do. I also put off going to the doctor and getting procedures done that need to be done at my age. I get alittle better in the Spring and Summer months but not enough.

Yeah, some of that medical stuff. Had my colonoscopy. No pollops. My husband had a couple pollops that they removed. Beneign. Better to do now than way until later. Take care. (not sure if that's one you're doing now, but that's often the one people procrastinate on).

That's me. I had such a painful experience with my first experience that I have put next one off longer than I should have. I am not into pain. They said it would be painless and it was just the opposite. My first one they found some pollops and they were benign. I really need to get in. Ugh!

When i was younger and still in school, i would procrastinate if it was something I didn't really want to do. Often I was sorry that I waited because then i would have to hurry to achieve my goal and that didn;t leave me with the feeling that I did the best job that I could.

I would wait on studying for a math test and my score would be lucky if I passed. I also waied for writing papers. That's really hard to write a paper quickly at the last minute.

300 picks more than how many picks? You're very ambitious in the picture department.
