Hi, goldeneagle That is great. Nothing can be compared with seeing them in person directly in the dark sky!

True that, I used to live in Northern Alberta, and they were fairly neat from there. It only gets better the farther north you go I hear. Thank you for sharing.

yes over a period of 30 years I saw them in person twelve times,.each time so beautiful and always a little different. I lived in South Dakota and we all enjoyed the spectacle so much. a beautiful sight and I always felt privileged to have seen it in person.

That is great, Hatley It is so wonderful to live in a place where you can see it happening right in the sky above you. I think I will have to keep looking for them while we still have winter and dark sky..

I have a friend in Sweden who recently emailed me a pic of the Northern Lights. He said they were the most beautiful he had seen, and it was to do with recent "sun" activity of some sort..... The video, moving, is even better.

Yes, Sweden and the rest of the Northern Scandinavia is a good place to see this phenomenon live. I guess this activity is more frequent, the closer we come to the poles. Some years ago I wrote a poem about it and published it in Triond. You find it with the same username as here..

I've seen then a few years ago. I've lived in Alaska all my I used to live up north where its colder, and saw the beautiful northern lights. I miss seeing them. I saw them last at a beach when I was hanging out with my sister and brother and their friends. It was a fun bonfire and watching the northern lights was a nice top off for that night. It was funny when some of the people that night got drunk and looked at the northern lights. They said they say it created their names in the colors. we knew their names and didn't see their names.

Alaska is a good place to look at Northern Lights but sometimes they can be seen much further in the south. I guess those who got drunk saw more than they could see in reality..

Hi, ren It is possible that you may see the Northern Lights in UK too, but of course the possibility is that you one day travel to the northern parts of the world and visit a place without too many street lights, you might see them live..
