It's official, we're now a one lane highway. They had put cones up before I left

for work. When I came home, they had signs saying one lane highway ahead. Part of our road has washed out on one side. They filled some pot holes on the other side, but the stuff they filled it with is floating away or getting hit by trucks and cars so it's all over the place. We really don't have a driveway any more. WE have a ton of mud where the gras isn't. We also have water running into part of it and a miniture pond or large mud puddle for some of it. Luckily it all pitches away from the house. I'm probably going to have to park my car on the other side of the house and hope I don't "bottom out" from rocks or frost heaves. The heat during the day and cold at night is making a mess of our roads.

Are you sure you don't live in my community??? Our road is getting softer and softer, I am just waiting for my son's bus driver to skip picking him up for fear of getting stuck..As for our driveway, There are spots where it is so soft, I feel I am sinking..Of course the driveway is our responsibility, but the road itself, I really hope they do something quick..

You can hope. Some of the road is washed away, some is under water. Told my husband we may need to pack those 3-day evacuation bags yet. His reply is that our basemement is dry. At the rate we're going, our house will be an island. I got out there and dug ditches in the snow and I may have to dig some in the mud to make the water go around our house, My husband says our land pitches away from the house anyway. Geesh! I'm not getting credit for any of my hard work. Maybe I'll just go back to bed.

I had 1/2 a day of easy teaching duties today as a sub. So it wasn't bad, but I could go to sleep. My chiropractic adjustment isn't staying because of all the frost heaves.

Oh my that sounds like a mess. What will be worse it when it becomes summer you will have mud all over. It has to be really aggravating to say the least.

Hopefully, by then, we will have the $ for fill to put in. One of my friends said to go buy straw and tamp it down. Maybe in a month or two. Take care.

Dang....here we do like when it's warm during the day and chilly at night..if the snow melts too quick then we'll have a ton of flooding. When it freezes it slows everything down! I hope you keep your car safe! And don't have to experience Bottoming out!

I hope things get better and that it does freeze tonight. At least you don't have to worry and keep watching the water at night if it freezes at night.

It sounds like you have quite a mess right now. Hopefully you can get it cleaned up and in working order. What a Spring, huh? We are having bad floods this year where the river overflows and comes right up to your home. Fun!

It was wonderful, my brother and his girlfriend had a place to park when they came to visit. I hope it stays like this. Take care.

You must have lose ground cover that it let it soak in quickly. Cool! You won't have to put your swimming togs on this time. Hope there isn't another.

The rains have really left a mess haven't they. We got a pretty big flood here too but there hasn't been the need for construction in my areas due to it. There is construction near my house for road improvements though and it's no fun to have to creep through it everyday

Ours is the three sets of snow storms, high snow banks, rains, and then fast melting from really unusually warm days and even warm nights. I was worried about the maple syrup farmers, but they're doing great, according to the news. Yes, it all has made quite the mess. We're a long, long way from construction being done on our road. The are trying to fill in the holes, but the cars just going by just spin the stuff out of the holes or the rainwater or snow melt just pushes it away. Thanks and take care.

The roads are terrible around here in my town as well. And the big problem is that the officials are not doing anything about it. Its a nuisance. Many cars have damaged their shocks and wheels and its almoust impossible to get the owner of the roads (which is the state of course) to cover the damages. Im getting the feeling that its better to travel with the train one of these days. Soon roads will be reserved for big trucks only.

Welcome to Mylot. Thanks for responding. Never had anyone respond from your country before. My country will do something, but not until summer. The little they're doing now isn't staying. Hope to see you in many discussions to come. Thanks and take care.

Oh, my goodness! I hope it clears up soon. It's a good thing everything slopes away from the house, that could be a real disaster. This has been one strange weather year already, hasn't it?

I hope so, but there are piles of snow everywhere still to melt and when they do, we may be a no lane road!

Wow. What happened? This is tough. I mean traffic is one thing but this just sounds tragic. Where are you from?

Snow, lots more snow than we usually get. Three snow storms in a short period of time. Then melting, way faster than the ground could absorb, way faster than we usually get. All the extra water became like a river and took out some of the road. The rest is like a pool of water.
