This community is about to hit the 227,000 mark. It will happen this coming week! Do you realize that's over a quarter of a million!? I've noticed that this past week or so we have gained close to 600 new members. From where are these people coming? Why are they joining? Are they referrals? You think they're just dropping in? Did you refer any? How many have you referred? All this week I've been watching that number climb and just got curious. So I decided to ask around. That's what myLot people do, huh?

You can go a step further and find out how many are there in each country: http://www.mylot.com/w/usersbylocation/1.aspx. The highest is USA and then it is India. Looking at the total population of US and India which is (2010 July) approximately 307,212,123 and 1,156,897,766 respectively India has hardly contributed!![em]shocked[/em. myLot is not just for earning money which is not much but a place to relax.

Thanks for your link, allknowing. I see that over 20,000 are in an unspecified category. Now I wonder why those people would not put their country on their profile. The whole world is literally represented here. Isn't that amazing?

You remind me of the time I did have a penpal when I was a kid. Oh, my, I can't even remember whatever happened to that 'relationship'. I just remember that I had one when I was preteen. God bless you.

myLot is no ordinary place. When I was a kid I was longing to have penfriends that came from the whole world and I could never get any and here I am surrounded by the whole world. Praise the Lord! myLot is great I say!

No, I hadn't noticed. I came here as a referral myself. And I have referred 6 people. Only one is active. Bet you can't guess which one. I guess I've been here now over 3 years and for about a year I was pretty active. Then I gave up and only checked in now and again. It's only been recently that I've tried being active again.

Hi, kenzie.....one out of six ain't bad, I suppose. Better than nada. Sorry I'm late with feedback here. I had to take a day and get some other stuff done. My reading has gone to pot since I've been doing more myLot and then I had to check in at Pogo. Thanks for dropping by.

When I first joined myLot had around 45,000 members it certainly has increased but that total includes many, many non active members. I read someplace that the daily traffic for myLot is about 40,000.

That's interesting. I would like to know the numbers for the site. Did you read that onsite or somewhere else? Hmmmmmm, 40,000 people tramping in and out of the house. Great.

I have had a few friends reguests but I am very careful who I approve in fact I keep a very small friends list and as soon as I'm bugged to join something I delete them. I have not sent referrals I have enough on my list now and because of health issues and a game site I'm on I can't afford any more time to be spent. You are so right there are a lot of us here. Take Care my friend.

I don't like the spammers either. Still have to clean out the inactive members from the friend list every so often. Cute little poodle you have there. Looks like a 'her'. What is your game site? I'm at Pogo a lot but not winning much. Thanks so much for your response. Hope all is well with you.

Yes, that's what us mylot people do. I have never referred anyone. I have told some friends about mylot & one joined but people weren't nice to her because she was a bad speller so she never gets on anymore. I don't know where they are all coming from but i'm sure alot of it is referrals.

I have noticed the number climbing but did not really noticed the large amount. I can see on certain days the great number of new members who begin posting and it is always fun to see new members because it tells me the site is growing. Growing is always good, because it will further maintain the site sustainable. Which in my book is great! I do enjoy the daily interactions with many so always fun to see new ones joining. I have several referrals but only one is somewhat active. My up-line member is not although is still a member. And yes that is what we do we ask and many will answer, lol...

Hello there, gurl...Thank you for looking in. What is an up-line member? I haven't referred anyone because most of my online friends are busy with other things and say they don't have the time. I checked out the population recently and see that many countries are represented.

Yeah, gurl, I was being surprised daily when I started checking it regularly. Even on the week-ends it still goes up. Just three more to go now til 227,000 and here I thought it would take a week. I've just been calling my upline the sponsor. Six of one and half dozen the other.

You know what downline is right. That is the person being your referral. You being the referrer is the upline. The person who referred. I use to look at the population number frequently when I first started but I suppose I have been busy that I have not checked but thanks for starting a discussion about it because I was not noticing and now since I saw your discussion yesterday, I keep looking at it. Wow, grows almost every few minutes.

Well, there have been many times I have seen the numbers move nicely here, but wonder out of all of these how many will actually want to be active and continue to want to do the things to continue to be active here? I know I have seen many many people come and go here, and wondering how off the numbers are for who is still active or has ever been active for sure. I know that even with things like referals, just because you get one here does not mean you are ever going to be able to make any $$. To me a referal is just a number until proven otherwise for sure. I have over 36 and none are active now, and some have never done anything here so if takes a lot to be able to find the person who will want to earn here for sure.

Well, if they really were able to seperate for us the people who are Now active and the ones who are not that are still considered members here, it would be interesting to know. Not sure there is any way they could do this, unless they were to go by anyone who has posted here in the last 60 days. But it would be interesting, and I think we would then see how many still enjoy this site.

The ones who come in and then leave seem to be a running theme here in this discussion. I too would like to know the number of consistently active members. Do you think it would still be in the thousands? I understand about the difficulty in finding active referrals. Those of you who have many could benefit more if they were active, I'm sure. Hope all is better with you, Krause. Thanks for dropping in.

I looked at that the other day and thought that is alot of people. I wonder where all of them are from... It's cuurently at 230,328... It made me wonder how many are actually active... I joined 5 years ago.. I come and go from time to time, I've had breaks but always come back... I've never refered anyone, well I tried but no-one joined under me. I origionally heard of this site from a forum at another site I am a member of and thought I would check it out. Glad I did...

Hi, pinklilly.....read back in response #11 and that will give you some idea as to how many members are actually active daily. The number of members keeps climbing daily. It is difficult to find a friend, relative or whatever that will join and remain active within the site. My referer lucked out with me. I joined a few years back, had to go on hiatus for some surgeries then came back. One of the best things I ever did. I get so much out of being here and seeking and offering help and keeping up with the news nationally and on a myLot community level. My hobbies have rather taken a back seat to my myLot activity. I used to read a book in a couple of days and now I'm still on the same one for about a month now. Of course, we're all glad you decided to check it out too. Thanks for dropping by and responding.

I've referred a few people but they were not active. One was for a short time. She was friendly too at first then became close friends with a few others and not so friendly to me. I thought that was weird. I haven't seen her now for some time. I often wonder how many are actually active on the site because I think the majority are no longer here. They don't delete accounts, they just let them sit. That means there are quite a large number LESS than 227000.

Hi, MsTickle..There was a link left in response #11 that gives us a way to track the daily traffic to myLot. It's loaded with other data about the site. I think it says that there are aroung 4000 page views daily if I understand correctly. Of course, that can be done with just a few members I suppose. From the responses here, most of these referrals don't stick around. Thanks for looking in.

Yeah , I've noticed too. As of now , it is at 227,590. That's just a really amazing number isn't it. I sometimes wonder too , where all these population comes from. There are just endless discussions here , which is nothing but healthy for myLot and us because then we will have more and more to discuss. Oh yeah and one more thing the number doesn't go down , so that is really cool.

That's really a good move there .. I try to do what you've said too , and the limited time which I have here , I try to make it worthwhile. I see there are more new members here in myLot , which is just great. The site needs to keep going and sometimes members take a 'rest' from the site from awhile , only to come back refreshed.

Hi, zed....sorry I'm late getting to your response. Yep, the number keeps going up as, I am told, that the memebers who deactivated or gone for other reasons are not subtracted from the total. Looks like about 500-600 are being added weekly. I sometimes have to go to the various tabs under discussions to find quality content. So we do have more to discuss but we've a responsibility to make them of quality.

I think that an awful lot come from Asia, especially India. That seems to be a growing economy and when you consider that a $ there is worth considerably more than it is in the West who can blame then. What really counts is how many stay and contribute. My entirely unscientific and ill informed guesstimate is that there are realatively few regular participants here, despite the collossal numbers. As a measure of success however; it's quite impressive.

Hi, p1ke...you make sense to me. Thanks for your response. I just wish our money would increase in value a little bit. I went to the grocery today and paid $70 for what I would have bought for $50 last month. I'd like to know the stats re how many members we really see here daily/weekly, etc. I need to be offline for a bit now and will be back later to get to the other responses.

hi yoyou I just did notice and good I am glad we are growing as its always nice to have a mix of new, old and in between here I think. I only hope that these new comers will read the mylot information and try to make quality discussions. Not just rush in and never learn how to use mylot at all.I think mylot is a great site and I enjoy having a lot of fun responding to my friends and also commenting on my past discussions too. I may get caught up yet.I have never referred anyone as everyone seems to not work once they become referrals at all.So why bother with them as I can make enough for my own needs right now just doing what I have always been doing comments, ,responses and making my own discussions. Over a quarter of a million is hurrah for mylot and for being part of mylot . eering[/em]

Good evening to you, Mrs. Hatley. We've not bumped lately. I've noticed that there are several that just come in and post discussions out the yazoo and then the next week or so they are gone. I've referred two. They are not active. I hope mylot continues to grow and prosper. But I have to agree with some on here, I was gone a year and not active at all. When I returned it was basically the same responders (with a few exceptions) as there was before. Not everyone has the patience to stay and see it through I guess. Good luck to all the newbies!

I hope some of the new members will peek in here and see that they are welcomed. Thanks for responding, debra.

Wow,600 new members every week, that's remarkable!i think the most important reason that they joined us is also earning money, but when they find that they cannot get much in a short time, then some of them will become inactive or even leave myLot. I came aross myLot while chatting in English somewhere, and then i became one of the myLotters.i have referred some of my friends, but by now i haven't got any definite reply from them!maybe they thought i had been scammed.i hope not...
