My dentist's office and my eye drs. offices are both closed. The dentist's office is up on a hill, so his office is fine, just the road below it is under water. Our lake is 3 feet above flood stage. The Eye Drs' office isn't fairing as well. It was on the Lake, now it's part of the Lake. Luckily, I went to both not long ago. Between the two offices is an appartment complex. The first floor is under 3 feet of water. They had to turn the electricity off. They had to evacuate a bunch of people plus 90 cats and dogs. The forecast is for no rain this week. They think it will take 3 weeks of no rain to get everything back under control. Except for July, I don't think we've ever gone 3 weeks without rain up here. Our government is worried. The midwest flooded and we're going to have to compete for disaster relief. I hope you all are high and dry. Send some nice weather our way. My neighbor's front lawn is a pond. My friend who had me work for her, her garden is also a pond-literally. Ducks were playing and carrying on as she was talking to me on the phone. Thank goodness my husband replaced that sump pump when he did.

Sorry to hear you are still having flooding issues in your area. We have had wind, rain, hail, etc. Not many nice days. We have a river running through town but no problems thank goodness. I actually think we might have a more decent Summer than past ones without alot of fires. I hope so.

We're still having problems. Every time the lake starts to go down, we have more rain and it goes back up again.

Sorry to hear that. In my neck of the woods this is called 'Spring'. We have a river that runs through our town.

Oh no, that is awful, I hope there wasn't some big important appointment the drs. made or they have another office to use... So far we are holding our own, still getting rain, but nothing major has flooded..Thankfully we are up from the lake and not at the lakes level, though I wonder what would happen if we got some much rain that the dam couldn't happen it? It isn't a big dam, yet a couple years ago they did a lot of repairs, hopefully that is enough to keep the water at bay.. I didn't consider covering my lilies until a week ago and I think it was too late, I think the bulbs are rotted which really makes me mad,I went to a lot of trouble moving them so they didn't rot over the winter only to have them rot now..:(

Oh no, they rotted? That stinks.. Yesterday I replanted my lily's since the rain has stop and I hope the bulbs were not too far gone. I guess I'll see in a few weeks..

Yeah, my winter onions and winter garlic are drowned, too. But my greens came back up well.

I feel guilty. We are in good shape here, at least for the time being. It rained a couple of times last week, but it's been warming up and drying out and was downright hot today with the sun beating down. We're supposed to get some colder weather tomorrow and Tuesday, but nothing serious. So many reports of bad weather everywhere! Keep safe!

We're doing pretty well. But many surrounding us aren't.

I hope you are safe there! I've been hearing news about floods everywhere! It's really scary. It feels like there are more calamities now than before. It feels like it all started when Japan was hit by that monstrous earthquake and tsunami. I can't help but wonder if this is still the effect of climate change or there is something big going on out there. Here, it's raining. There's a typhoon coming according to the news. Tomorrow it was just so hot and sunny. The rain today makes me think that summer has already ended. I don't like the rain and typhoons kind of scares me now. So I hope you're okay and I hope everything goes well in your town. Take care.

We're doing pretty well here. I hope you're safe. A typhoon. Shouldn't you be evacuating or something?

Ah, no. There's no imminent danger aside from flood and it's not that kind of flood like a rushing river flood that is so fast and strong that it can destroy a home. Although it is still a bad flood because it does not go away after a few days or weeks. That is, during a really bad typhoon. And our place does not get flooded every typhoon occurrence. Also, people here do not readily evacuate their homes. They evacuate when the calamity is already there. They don't want to leave their homes and belongings. And it's difficult to stay in an evacuation center. Although, nowadays, the authorities are teaching people to evacuate before the danger even comes in, because of lessons learned in previous incidents.

hi writersedge I am in California and we are okay now. a few monthed back there was some flooding and mud slides in Laguna B each and it was called a disaster area. but nothing like that this year. Where abouts are you in the midwest? I was born and Raised in South Dakota. I have read about flooding in North Dakota. Sounds like you will get disaster relief and I do hope you are okay now.I can well imagine the ducks are having a ball while all the people sure are not.the weatther the tail end of last year and first of this year here in the US has sure been unusual to say the least. I am glad you have a working sump pump.

I'm in New York. Northern NY and VT have been at flood stages off and on for weeks now. Entire sections of roads are gone and some areas the houses have water halfway up them. Some Lakeside areas are part of the lake now.

Always a good idea to remind people of all those things. we have them since we live where the power can always go out any time. The weather has been excellent for the past few days for a change, we've been luck and things are better now. Take care.
