OMG, gas price gone up to $3.99 per gallon

That is what we had predicted, and it is going to happen. Due to the disaster in Mississippi, people afraid the refineries there won't no longer operable. The gas price suddenly gone up $0.10 more overnight, from $3.86 to $3.99. What a nightmare to a lot of people. I won't go out that much as I already mentioned before. People might do the same, and it will definitely affect the economy even more. Take a look at today's stock market, it is going down, and it is certainly not a happy day for everyone. As the government predicts, if there is no major disaster in the near future, the price might go down slightly.

Yes I know I don't work anymore because it was costing too much for me and my husband so one of us had to quit and it was me.This is not very fun I have had to resort to looking at all kinds of jobs I can do here at home and it is not easy at all, I don't understand some of the things I d=signed up for at all but I am trying to learn but it is hard.

I am very much in the same situation. I had to stay home to have my baby and then when she was born we took a look at the gas prices (which were only at about $3.20, which is cheap now, but expensive back then) and it's a 45 minute drive one-way to work in a car that only gets 24 mpg. I would basically be working for gas money and that's just about it.

I know it. I cannot believe it. We are up to $4.09 per gallon of regular unleaded here. I do not know how people will survive.

So, what state do you get that price from? California, or somewhere else? I am in Georgia here, and that is outrageous.

I live in Northern Ohio and our gas is $4.15 a gallon. It had been $3.79 to $3.89 then it jumped up to $4.15. Needless to say I don't go many places. To work and back. I am supposed to go with my mom to Virginia, I will drive her car. I am hoping gas comes down some before then. With the price of gas and diesel everything is also going up and up. I use to buy ice cream bars for $1.99, the price has jumped up to $2.69. Things are going up by big amounts, not just pennies.

It's ironic that when oil price rises the effect is felt widely because everything seem to go with it, and the price of other commodities increases too. Wish the government have an outright alternative so that those less fortunate people could still survive with their day-to-day living.

It is definitely depressing you do have to sit home more if you don't have the money to go out. I hope that it goes back down. I am not happy either. Take care.

I'm also driving a lot less. If it was only gas, okay, I could handle it in stride. But like most people, I'm paying more for EVERYTHING! Groceries have gone up through the roof Gas and oil-based products are spiking Water and electricity costs have risen by over 200% in 2 years Insurance costs are up for auto and homeowners Property taxes are rising I really don't want to turn this into a political thing. Most people can search two of my posts and figure out where I stand on the spectrum. But all I keep hearing from the government is how things are getting better. Well, I'm an American, I live here and always have, and I know many people also riding in my boat, and we all say that's a load of horsecrap!

Yeah, that's one of the main reasons I take the train most of the time. It used to be more expensive to ride the train (the price of those month passes are totally ridiculous), but it's getting to the point where I am saving money taking public transit. If it's a pain for you, then you should also be looking for and supporting alternatives to running on gas. It's not impossible to do this on your own. You can't expect the government to do everything for you.

I'm not sure how the government could predict a natural disaster in the future, but I'm just hope things would only get better from here. They might or might not with the whole President Obama killing Osama issue. Gas prices are not far from behind yours. Here its $3.67 a gallon, prices are going up weekly if not more often. When prices get to reach $4 I would definitely have to cut back on a number of things even more. Being that I have school thats about 25 minutes away, and work about 20 minutes I'm just out of luck with those two and I also like to go out, so I'm just looking for better days now. P.S this isn't the worst the economy has gotten, but this is the worst for my generation.
