What collections do you own? Why do you collect them?

Everyone of us is fond of something and will try to collect it for some time or for the serious ones they will maintain their collections for as long as they can and pass it on to someone deserving. I am a collector too. I collect GOLD. I collect them because I am fascinated by its beauty and its value that never fades. I like the pure gold ones and white gold too, also rose gold which has a pinkish tone to it, but I dont have a rose gold yet. Before, I was into collecting a lot of toys, but I guess I over that and have chosen to sell all my toys and use the money to buy more gold. Gold is good to collect because it is also an investment. You can never go wrong with gold unless you purchased a fake one :P

Wow, even your name depicts your love for gold :). I wish I have the means to collect gold too but not at the moment. My humble collection is just ref magnets and I get these from places I visit. I don't want to collect bulky stuff as I only have a limited space. And, oh, I also collect books that I love to read still because I want to have my own mini library

hello manubla :) im glad you noticed my username here... i guess youve been traveling a lot and have some cool ref magnet collections already :) me i dont get to travel that much ... books are always a treasure to have and a mini library thats a big wow :)

i have plenty of useless collections like figurines and tiny stuffs, hair ties.. but my best collection are my comic books :D i really enjoy reading them.. someday, if i have plenty of money already im going to collect shoes! :D total weakness.

I've got a good collection of Blur stuff. as well as CD singles, albums and the like, I've got vinyl, some of it very rare, and that sort of thing.
I'm not a serious collector of anything as such, but there's quite a few things I do tend to buy.
and recently I've found myself gathering a good collection of Mardi Gras Doubloons. which is quite unusual in the UK.

I have been on several package holidays and they put us up in 5 star hotels. I take my own shampoo but collect those tiny bottles that the hotel gives for our use. I use them all once I return from my holiday but I have kept the empty bottles.
I have heaps and heaps of photo albums. Now that I have a digital camera I have heaps of digital albums in my computer.

Photos bring back memories reliving moments of yester years and as for these shampoo bottles each hotel has had different brands and looking at those bottles the hotel scene comes to mind as also the places I visited.

I collect mostly a lot of things, but I mainly collect model cars. Why? Well, ever since I was young, I love cars. I even work at a popular car repair shop in NY. Mainly, cars are my things in life, and I'm still continuing to collect new model cars, even old model cars. It's really fun, but I also do collect other things too like bottle caps and hats, but mainly I like cars, and model cars is what I collect.

thi goldenPlanet I have not got that kind of money but some of my beanie babies are worth a lot as they are discontinued ones, so I collect beaqnie babies for fu n and as they are all sort of unique its really'fun and also c an be worth some money.I just like them and thus its a hob by and I also collect rocks which is also a great hobby.
You need a lot of money t o be buying gold and as a person aged and on social security I cannot buy pieces of gold. wow.

hi Hatley :) collecting beanie babies is classic and i think is one of the top items being collected around the world. i must say i havent seen one in person, :( rocks are interesting, each piece holds a different energy to it. thank you for your lovely response. I guess when we really like something we can attract it and manifest it :) enjoy manifesting what you want to collect :)

I used to collect key chains and small souvenirs from other countries when some friends gave me and also i asked some relatives to bring me when they comes home.
Now i am fascinated with currencies,i have few collections as this moment but wish to have more.

Not until 4 weeks ago, I used to work for a big company. We had more than 500 employees there. And while I was there, I started a collection of exit letters. People that leave the company usually send out a goodbye email to everybody. I liked collecting them because I too have been wanting to leave.
Now that I am at new job, I guess I should look for a new thing to collect.

I collect quarters with the different type of states in the back. I collect them because I love the design on the back especially with the states like New York, Rhode Island and whole bunch of other states.

interesting colllection EstiiBabii, i like the California 2010 quarter that depicts El Capitan at Yosemite National Park. :) i guess i could also enjoy looking at the detail and artwork invested in these quarters...thanks for sharing :)

I agree with you sir. It's very good investment because the longer time it gets, the higher it's value become.
For me, I'm not a collector and before, I really hate collecting things because I thought it's a waste of money. But then later on, I find it fun to collect figu-art from my favorite games Metal Gear Solid and Lara Croft whenever I have money to buy it. I feel at peace and appreciate every detail of art they has and at the same time, remembers their heroic deeds as I feel I am becoming a heroine like them whenever I play the game. It might not be an investment because their value might depreciate in the latter time, but at least, it made me happy. :)

I love to collect yugioh! cards, the reason is me in my brothers love to to duel monsters. We also collects DVD. Well I collect mostly Anime Series, Scifi movies, Action Movie which stars Jason Statham, Vin Diesel or Dwayne Wade.
