I loved visiting Singapore and have been there three times. It is well ordered and very clean. I found it exciting to visit Indonesia and had found it to be a bargain destination. I visited the Maldives and found it ever so expensive. In the future I would love to see the Taj Mahal in India and the Great Wall in China. I am keen to do some island hopping and snorkeling in the Philippines. I would love to shopping in Bangkok in Thailand. Where I used to live there was a Thai shop and the lady has some wonderful things in it. Which great places are to there to go in Asia? Are there any places in Asia you dream about visiting one day? Tell me some of the amazing sights that can be seen in Asia.

Hi Maximax, Being an INDIA i would like to say you must visit India as you should see TAJ MAHAL as you know is of the seven wonders. I would suggest you to visit INDIA somewhere in DEC~FEB as in other months there will be too hot and you wont be able to enjoy much. Apart from INDIA & CHINA you must visit NEPAL & SRILANKA as these are expensive to visit & you would able to see more of natural things like beaches, hills statios. Also Kashmir is one of the favourite place of tourists to visit. Hope we will be able to see you in DEC in INDIA.

My disabled son will be at school in September. So I would either go away for my trip in October to team it will the half term or go in early December and a bit of the Christmas holidays. There is another half term in February. I know Kashmir is meant to be stunningly beautiful and very interesting. I would love to visit Sri Lanka. Years ago a travel guide book said $1000 would pay for 67 days in India or 14 days in Japan.

You've mentioned it all...hahaha...I will just add some more... If you want to see ancient ruins, go to Siem Reap. I love the temples there. Spend 3 days there to enjoy most of the temples there. Here is what you will love best in that place, everything is very very cheap! hehehe... I would love to see Nepal and Bhutan also to see the majestic views of Mt Everest. Nepal has a lot of heritage sites that you can enjoy. And if your kids are old enough, you can enjoy a stroll maybe around the base camp of Mt Everest. For the best beaches, I will recommend the Philippines and Phuket in Thailand. And of course Maldives but you have been there already. hehehe...Taiwan is also a nice place to visit. I fell in love with Sun Moon Lake.

I would adore the Siem Reap ancient ruins. I am very keen to visit cheap places because the airfares are so pricey. I would love to go to Kathmandu and see a bit of Nepal. Bhutan is meant to be stunning but it is way too expensive. I would like to find out more about Taiwan. The Sun Moon Lake sounds ever so appealing.

I have heard that the beaches in Phillipines are out of this world! Enjoy, friend. And you are both welcome to my country.

I would love to go to see those beautiful places, Maxine, but I´m afraid I will just have to see them on TV. They are too far away from where I live and the air fare is too expensive for me even too consider it. I cannot even think of going to Canada, where I have a friend, because of the plane fare. Let us hope some time in the near future that changes. I would like to go to India very much. I saw last year I think an exhibit or the chinese ceramic warriors when they came to Santiago. They were awesome!

It is the same as saying, I would love to go to Chile but the air fare is also that expensive from where I am... But never say die... If there's a will, there is a way. I will come up with a way to visit the both of you or I hope the idea of us 3 traveling together will come true...hehehe....

@maximax8: If you happened to be in Singapore again, why not taking your time visiting Malaysia as well? Beautiful beaches, tall skyscrapers and bargain handicrafts as well as affordable, mouth-watering food arrays await you here in Malaysia... As for me, I dream of visiting Japan one day...I am an avid fan of anime and I would cherish the opportunity to visit the birthplace of anime/manga itself!

@fred7755: Great to see a fellow Malaysian here! You have done a nice job promoting our country, my friend! @maximax8: Do come again to Malaysia! Not only it is relatively cheaper to visit than most of the countries in Asia, Malaysia is full of natural beauty as well...I would recommend visiting Cameron Highland in Pahang as well as Sepilok in Sabah...You can enjoy picking tea leaves in the highlands, and having a good time with orangutan at one of the bggest orangutan sanctuary in the world...

Hi maximax! Wow! You're a real traveler! I wish I had the money to travel around the world. I remember you commented on my discussion about Singapore so I won't say anymore about Singapore here. We would have gone to Indonesia, too if only we had the time. They say when you're there, you will feel like a millionaire because everything is so cheap! Cheaper than Malaysia they say. We went to Malaysia but we never had the time to find some cheap stores and stuffs. We were only able to go stroll around the mall in the boundary between Malaysia and Singapore. The countries you mentioned, India, China, Thailand and Philippines my country, are indeed great places to visit, although I have never been to the three countries mentioned. You can also go to Japan and Korea, although I have never been there, I have seen lots of videos featuring those countries and they are indeed interesting! There are lots of beautiful places to go there and their cultures are amazing. You should visit there.

maximax8, Like you, I've been to most of the places that you've mentioned here. So, I do agree with you that Asia does have great shopping destinations like Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Mainland China. I am sure you will agree that Singapore and Hong Kong are great for buying electronic appliances like computers, cellular phones or cameras. As for sightseeing, I am sure a lot of people will agree with me that Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia have the best beaches in the world. Starting with Bali, Lombok for Indonesia; Penang, Langkawi, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu for Malaysia and Phuket, Krabi, Koh Samui for Thailand.

I loved Bangkok - I liked how busy it was, the tuk tuks and the food on the street stalls. I would love to visit Singapore one day. You're lucky to have been three times! I hear everyone say the same thing about how clean it is and it sounds a fascinating city! I would love to see the temples in Cambodia one day too and also I too would like to walk the great wall of China and see the terracotta army!

I've had the chance to vacation on Boracay Island in the Philippines, and I absolutely love it. It was white sand for miles on end, and the sunny skies for days on end. I think if you just stay away from the city, and stay on the beaches, the Philippines is a great destination.

If you love beaches, come to the Philippines! You can try island hopping in our over 7100 islands. Each island offers new and exciting things to offer from breathtaking natural wonders to lively mardigras. Of other countries I've visited in Asia,I love Singapore. I found it very organized and well-kept. People seem to be very disciplined. Someday, I would like to visit South Korea. I love watching Korean TV series and eating Korean dishes. Back in college, I had a Korean roommate who told me many things about South Korea.

I do adore tropical islands and palm fringed beaches are my favorite. The Philippines has so very many gorgeous islands. When I do manage to go there I will be keen to see Bohol Island and its Chocolate Hills. I would like to find out more about South Korea. It was lovely you once had a room mate from there that told you loads about it. I would like to visit Japan but would have to do it cheaply. I would get a multi stop air ticket so I could go there for just a week.

Haha I am living in Hong Kong, I think you should come here! In here you can experience difficult cultures. And if you enjoy shopping, it is a perfect place for you to come since no sales tax is implemented here, in other words, you can buy cheaper products here. Also you can taste difference kinds of food easily in Hong Kong; And you can go up to the peak to enjoy the brilliant night view of Hong Kong, or go to different small islands around Hong Kong to enjoy the natural landscape~~ HAHAAAAA looking forward to seeing you here!

I visited beautiful Hong Kong when I was 28 years old. I was on my way to Perth in Western Australia. I stayed at the youth hostel on the top of Mount Davis. I loved riding on an old tram and it was lovely to see the wonderful night view of the harbor with all those lights. It is a destination I would love to go back to.
