Stop playing with my food!

The article I am posting is going after Obama for eating foods the author feels Obama and we the people should not have the right to eat. I am no Obama supporter but leave the man's food alone. Ok red meat, fatty or sugary foods not healthy we get it. That does not give anyone the right to tell the President or anyone else they are bad for eating it. It is our right to ingest what we want and these people need to remember we are responsible for our own choices not them. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/neal-barnard-md/obama-health-food_b_870853.html?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl1%7Csec1_lnk2%7C70598

I think many people think they are going good for others when they are just annoying. I agree with you. Leave my food alone!! I know what is healthy and what isn't. Heavens, we all know that by the time we are adults. Everything in moderation is a principle I learned early in life..)not that I always follow it) but I was taught that by my Dad.

Agreed moderation in all things is good. It is a balanced diet that is healthy and our own right to choose to the balancing act or not too.

Yeah a few Hershey kisses or a little bag of chips once in a while isn't going to give you a heart attack now a daily dose of pork rinds probably will

I think it’s ok once in a while to overdo a food. I have noticed when I 'crave' something but keep avoiding it because it isn't so ‘good for me‘, I often overeat on healthy things. On the other hand if I just splurge once in awhile I get it out of my system and I'm ok...until the next craving.

That link doesn't work for me, weird. I know what you're talking about though. I really don't think there's anything in the constitution that says you can't eat red meat or fatty foods. I mean America allows the diary industry to lie to people saying that it's healthy and prevents all these wonderful things (that it also causes). And if everyone was so concerned about the illusion of eating healthy, fast food places would go out of business and we wouldn't be eating all this crap processed food.

All foods have their good and their bad points and reality is they are OK in moderation, Americans just don't want to do anything that isn't over board. I mean if all you eat is fatty red meat yes you will get fat clogged arteries. If all you eat is carrots you will turn yellow and organs will shut down from not being able to process the beta carotene (my cousin did this when little ended up in hospital quite sick) balance it's all about the balance.

I understand what you mean, but at the same time, the president and his administration are bent on telling us what we can and cannot eat, so why not dish out a little back to him? Michelle Obama's thing about children eating more healthy foods, the government's new http://www.choosemyplate.gov/ idiocy, not requiring GMO labeling... yeah, I think Obama could take a few pointers.

I have a right to vote for whom I chooseas do you and y ou and you. You do not have any right to insult me here on mylot.no right at all.As for what I choose to eat and not eat that too is my own business. As I am a diabetic I bet I probably eat way healthier than a lot of other myloters too. A onenight stay in the hospital because of toohigh blood sugar has made me a devoted to healthy eating for diabetes. just say no to almost all gold crests too sweet desserts and the staff is now helping me to eat the right choices which makes it a lot easier for me. wahoo

I do feel that any public personality needs to be a good role model. I don't think the president is 'bad' but I do think they need to make it known they don't do this all the time and be a good role model both food wise and moral wise. I understand I am being rather oldfashioned but.......!

Yes, that is pretty obvious.

There is a reason the old becomes new again! Some times new isn't always better and in the case of morals that is definitely true. As for eating and the President I also wonder how many of the food he actually picks out for these things. I mean I know they try to make foods visiting politicians and royalty like and by the looks of the man and his wife I would say they do not eat like that all the time or they would be huge unless they both are lucky enough to have a very hi metabolism.

Oh Gosh! What will they come up with next? How silly. If people don't eat meat, then that is their choice, but people who like a nice burger or hot dog or anything else.. that's their choice. There is too much going on in the world to worry about what the president eats. I remember when Clinton liked going to McDonalds.

I have to admit that this made me think of Clinton and him jogging to McDonalds...

I remember that too, and then I remember he got some heart problems.. not sure.. did he have to have heart surgery? or did he just have to improve his diet?

If I can't ENJOY my food what's the point of eating it? We all have to die sometime. I'd rather die knowing I actually enjoyed my last meal.

Well, they gripped at Donald Trump for eating his pizza with a fork instead of his fingers... I do half and half! But I think the reason people are attacking Obama about what he eats is cause his wife is on this "feed kids healthy" kick and obese kids are the fault of fast foods (not the parents of course) that...he should practice what he preaches. How can anyone have any respect for anything he says of does if he does one thing and then attacks others for doing that same thing? Oh wait, that is his wife that is preaching that, not him. Oh well, then it is okay if he eats like that...his girls do as their mother says, not him anyway! Good grief...with this country falling apart...is this really all the media has to talk about? Or should I say WANT to talk about?!? (no offense intended to you, just annoys me that the media goes off on this kind of stuff...I mean, we are falling apart yet first it was Weiner that got headlighted for 2 weeks, and now this..meanwhile .....

That is part of my point in some regards to all thing political. I mean how about reporting on how it went with his British lunch mate instead of what they ate!

But that's exactly why people are going on & on about what BO eats! Michelle is relentless about telling US what we should eat (though even she likes "bad" foods), but BO sneaks out of the White House to go get what he really wants, & even uses the Secret Service to smuggle in "junk" food! And people are tired of these 2 telling everyone else what they should eat or do! It IS our choice, for us & for our children; that's the whole point! It's hypocritical of Mr. & Mrs. President to tell us we're bad or bad for our kids! Let them mind their own business! We're adults. It's not their job to chastise us, & I know you aren't an unfair person, judging from your posts; you surely don't forbid us to criticize those who criticize us! Oh, & I never bother with the HuffPo. It's notoriously full of half-truths, since the owner is in the tank for All Things Leftist. Maggiepie “This nation can never be conquered from without. Well they certainly will reap the rewards of being hypocrites for this. I really am just annoyed at all of it. We have real issues and what the man eats is just not something I care about when there are so many things to be concerned with. As for his sneaking things behind her back all I can do is laugh at that..he's brave enough to be President of the Untied States but not to face his own wife for a cookie Also it wasn't so much the Prez as the writer and the doctor's themselves who seem to feel the need to force the American people into eating what they say is correct to eat...especially when the doctors and scientist change their results every few moths and almost always later something later comes out.

Food and stress maybe be related. - Good to eat healthy food which does not mean tasty.
I guess people has a right to eat what they want and also right to give opinions, as well people have to right to ignore other people opinion as long it does not break any local laws. One man meat can be another man poison and such,i guess things should be eaten in a moderate way and not over extreme.Working environment and stress sometime cause people to eat more.

That link doesn't work for me either. But anyway... I think Obama is adult enough to be able to make his own decisions on what to eat. =P If it were giving advice, or stating an opinion, I guess it might still be alright. But if it's actually telling/ordering someone to do this and do that, then maybe that goes beyond the line a bit. =P
