If you work on the Internet for any length of time it seems you get spam. This comes mostly in letter promising wealth for various reasons, inheritance from unknown relatives, lottery winnings and other totally unrealistic earnings. Now they have gone to far for me, I received one of these spams and not only did it promise unbelivable weath but there was a Threat of legal action if I did not open the e-mail. Well I never open unknown e-mail and this one will be reported to the local FBI. I have spoken to them before and know that they are not in a position to help unless you have lost at least $10,000 or more, but now I have threats. Keep alert and watch for this type scam, I'll le tyou know what the FBI tells me.

I don't understand at all what the scamsters get out of these kinds of emails and letters in the mail and such. I mean I know how these things are supposed to work so that you rob people of money, but I have to wonder if there is really anyone out there that is stupid enough to do what these people are asking. Well, I assume that there are because these scams do continue to go on. Regardless of whether or not you open these emails, you should never respond to them and never fall for their tricks.

I have gotten many spam mails but I just delete them. I also have gotten those emails that you mentioned that says, I am from whatever country and I am a millionaire, and I need your help. Bull, if they are millionaires then they do not need my help. I understand how you feel and I would also like to get rid of these emails and people behind them. But I have come to the point that I just delete all of them. No need to read garbage.

I think it is high time some of the perpetrators of such spams are punished and made examples of. I too get so many spams each day that it really gets tiring. Even with spam filters you keep getting these mails which slip through these filters. I think till there is something stringent in place against such people it would be difficult to put a stop to it. Cheers! Ram

I have not received that particular spam email but I'll watch for it and also forward it to the FBI if I get it. That's beyond offensive and ridiculous!! Can you imagine some poor old person who is ignorant of such things falling prey to that scam? I usually just look at the subjects without opening the email and delete without opening. My friends and relatives know this and make their subject lines very specific!

I know, I get those too but lucky me I can have a look at my emails on my ISP server, so I can delete anything I dont want before I download my emails in my mailbox. We have a place here where we can report such emails. I sure hope they'll take this seriously. Spam emails are one thing, but threats is something else entirely. Let us know how it went for you. Im including a link for information about spam or anything else on the internet. http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/qc/pub/cybercrime/cybercrime-eng.htm

Hello. Yeah i got a spam email today apparently from the FBI (I doubt it.) saying i had been a victim of a scam (Which i haven't.) and that they wanted to "refund" me for what i had lost. It said i ave to give them my name, address, occupation and phone number. And there was a charge of $280 for getting the money back. Obviously a scam as it didn't say my name anywhere, it went to undisclosed recipients and i don't live i America so the FBI wouldn't be contacting me. These scam emails are just stupid.
