As you might remember last fall I decorated some paint cans to sell at my craft sale. I had a couple left over so I decorated one and filled it with goodies for my sister as I am going to their cabin to celebrate the 4th with them. I filled it with things they can use at the cabin like red white and blue napkins and plastic silverware. Do you do any decorting for the 4th? Did you do any decorations? What are you going to do on the 4th?

I love the paint can decorations. I will be spending the 4th with my husband. We will be driving an hour away to see fire works and we are looking forward to it. I will put out our American flag , but we do not have any other decorations. This year has been hard because my husband and I are remodeling the house and it is time consuming.

Well we have never really decorated for the 4th. Even when I was growing up I can never really remember decorating for the 4th. We have always just used regular paper plates and that, and usually go places where there are BBQ's and such. Been at one this weekend with my husbands family even. Have to work on the 4th at night so cannot be anywhere FUN.

Dang! My sister did love the paint can though...it will be nice at their cabin as it can seal so bugs can't get in it...her neighbor out there had just told her she was getting some to store things at their cabin too...

That is beautiful Jill, and creative... Too bad I don't have the material to make something similar, because one of my newest dog sitting clients, invited my family and I to her place on Saturday when our community is setting off fireworks.Plus, she is also on the lake, but the lake in her backyard isn't a down stairs like ours,it is more level, so she actually made a small beach, with sand and everything and it is across from her lot where they are setting off the display, so we will have a front row, but more private seating... It is a potluck, and it would be cool to bring something like that as a hostess gift..

The only holiday we decorate for is Christmas.. and we hardly even do that much anymore.. it's basically just the tree and that's it. No plans for the 4th here, except some fireworks of course!

July 4th is big in our community up north. I'm more into food than crafts, til our little bundle of joy comes. I go all out. Picnic table goes to the end of our drive. I cover it with red white and blue cloth from Mil End. I freeze in-season strawberries and blue berries, put them in a big crystal bowl in layers and supply little bowls (so lots of people get some)and forks. out come our stash of 24 American Flags on poles. No matter how hot it is we hang out in the streets talking to neighbors and friends. TOO MUCH FUN! Yeah Independence Day!

Up here we celebrate Canada Day (July 1st) and if we decorate, we do things in red and white, and lots of Canadian flags around.

That sounds cool. I don't really do any special decorating, but I do like to put some decorations out when holidays roll around. Like I have a candle with the American flag on it and a sign for a door that says God bless America. That kind of thing. I only have a few decorations for the fourth of July. Unlike when Christmas rolls around.

Awww you're a good sister! I bet your sister will agree! I think hubby and I are going to go to town to see the fireworks display and sell these sticks that light up when they're snapped or bent. I had bought them last year to sell in hopes to raise the money to help my parents out but for some reason hubby and I decided not to go but maybe this year we will because my parents need money for a new roof. Every penny helps so I'm hoping we'll make a hundred or two while doing it and not get caught if it's illegal. Might need a selling permit or something which we don't have but hopefully it'll be ok. I hope!! And I hope you have a good time at yours!

Would make a great gift! Also a great decoration for the holiday :) I'm sure your hostess of the party loved it :) I think I'd be one of those people to place it in my Fourth of July box to save it for year after year for that added decorations just cause that's the way I am :) Nice use of recycled materials :)
