Amazingly, I found out that Princess Di would be 50 today i.e. 1st July 2011 if she'd been alive. Still not very old is it? Last night I was looking at some photographs of her online to remind myself at what we're missing, really. I still prefer her wedding dress to Kate Middleton's. Maybe it's due to all the bling on it, I don't know (especially the veil and that huge train) but it was very 80s! Loved the tiara too that she wore more than once! How I miss Di. I wonder if her son Wills will mention her in Canada today? He's not likely to forget his Mum's birthday. I do know him and Harry think about her every day. I'm not surprised. All the photos I've seen of all three of them together are soooo sweet! Right, you can throw up now lol. I can't upload any pics, probably due to copyright issues..but there are plenty of sites out there showing her wondrous wedding dress, amongst other things.

Diana was a people's princess. May be we should wait and see how Kate Middleton fares. She gives the impression that she is down to earth. Saw her picture shopping at one of the malls something that a princess rarely does! I too found Kate's entire look as a bride quite simple and more so her hairstyle. Could have done something more with her hair.

Here in India we called it the 'Diana Hair Cut' and even I had it for some years. Now I want to look like Kate for a change!

Yes, I was surprised Kate's hair wasn't in a more elaborate style but I guess she wanted to keep it simple. Usually her locks are her trademark, so to speak but Di's hair..well, she kept it a lot shorter but millions of women copied that style of hers but couldn't match those eyes!

Wow 50 years old and sad that she did die. I was so young and remember watching the wedding on TV and thinking it was a fairly tale. Yes I too prefer her dress to Kate's. I am sure this was a sorrow day for them, as they would have wanted her in their lives today.

I did love Kate's dress, don't get me wrong but she could've risked a bit of bling. Bling never hurt anyone lol. Di's tiara was amazing, I'll never forget it and I loved the fact she wore it more than once.

hi janey yep even us older women love a little bling of course my necklace of one strand of sparkling beads and one strand of milk white beads is beautiful but inexpensive but it makes me feel good to wear it. Kate could have used a little more and it would have been expensive and beautiful.but I still like mine too as it was a gift to me.

hi janey she Diana was a princess I think most of the whole world adored her and she had class and heart and well she was just a kind loving mom and a wonderful human being.Sad to think how quickly her lovely life was snuffed out and I have often wondered if that was some sort of plot to get rid of her. b ut anyway i thought her wedding dress was special too and I did not get to see the New Prince get married as I was ill on that dady and sent to the hospital. I had really wanted to watch it. I remembered the wedding dress of Diana and she was so poised and so lovely in it too. I know that she was very close to her two sons and still am angry at how her royal husband treated her.well going off subject here. I bet she would have been a beautiful woman at fifty too.

I think that Princess Di was a very special woman. I do not think that she got a "fair shake" in the Royal household and that Charles should have had his head examined for choosing sour puss face over her. I am sure that the boys miss her very much. She was a stead fast part of their life. So sad to see someone that actually did so much go so young.

Hiya Janey, Happy Birthday to her wherever she is now. I hope that she is happy and at peace at long last. I miss her too and I though her Wedding Dress was wonderful as well. I am not going to throw up at all. Although I miss her life goes on but I still remember her a lot sometimes. I think that she would have been a very good looking 50 year old. She had a striking beauty as well.

Hiya Janey, Yes she could wear anything with that Goddess figure of hers and that great beauty and it would still look good if not great. In my life would I get to be as good looking as that. We still have William and Harry to remind us of her as William looks just like her double. Okay I am not looking on top of his head though as I have seen he is losing a bit of hair. I prefer to remember her as she was. I was watching a really great Film about Elizabeth The First yesterday and when I saw some of the old parts of Cathedral and things I was reminded of Diana for a while. However I donĀ“t think she would want anyone to cry forever for her so I put on a big smile. That film I saw yesterday I think could be a very true reflection of how Elizabeth really was quite unusual view of her life and character for me anyway. xxx

Wealth and rank is as transient as a fleeting cloud. If only she had seen with her own eyes that her son got married.

I know, it would've been marvellous. I'm so glad William held his emotions together on his Big Day.

I think she held the admiration of all people....she was something special. It's aweful when someone's life is cut short when they are so very young.....Happy Birthday Di!

It is awful, you're right..but the goodness carries on with her boys who this nation adores. They can't put a foot wrong in our eyes and it's great they've carried on supporting charities Di was heavily involved with.

I is still hard to believe that Princess diana is gone. watching her children grow and continue without her seems impossible at times. If she had lived to see her 50th birhday i am sure that Princess Diana would still be a shinig example to the world. She is is still sadly missed!

I reckon she is influencing Kate and William from her cloud up above. She's definitely sent some angel dust or something because they haven't put a foot wrong since landing in Canada, bless their hearts. I'm hoping Di's birthday date will be lucky as I've sent an online form (on Mum's behalf) regarding her impending dismissal from work. I do so hope the 1st July will be lucky for her and Di has spared some of her angel dust for us!

Newsweek Cover of Diana at 50 - Diana at 50
Im not throwing up. Yes he did mention her today during the Canada Day celebrations. He also mentioned Kate's grandfather who passed away and poor Kate, she had tears in her eyes, trying very hard not to cry. Didnt you hear about the article on Newsweek and the creepy picture of Di as she might look today? Heres a link to that story and a picture of the Newsweek cover. http://www.newsweek.com/2011/06/26/what-princess-diana-s-life-might-look-like-now.html

It's not creepy, it's ace and I reckon Di has influenced the lovely couple since they got wed. D'you know I HATE Sky News! In their report it showed Wills going on about Kate's grandfather but no reference to his Ma! So typical of them to leave that out.
