Mylot search rewards.....not so rewarding for me.

First off, a note to the mods: This is not an "individual issue with mylot". It is an inquiry for other members here. I want to get a feel for where I sit compared to others who use the search and reap the rewards of it. (no, it isn't a "poll" either) I have been a member here for over 4 years. I consider myself to be pretty proficient in navigating and using this site. While I may not be the brightest bulb in the chandelier, I do consider myself to be reasonably intelligent. That being said, I'll be damned if I can figure out what I'm doing wrong. Since the start of the rewards program, I have received but a meager handful of these "rewards", less than half a dozen actually. They have all been small, mostly 1 or 2 cents with one whopping 4 cent reward. I don't abuse the search, I do use it legitimately but I usually end up running in to that great wall of warning "we've noticed some suspicious activity...." yada yada. (suspicious? REALLY?). But I have read a fair amount of posts from other users who are getting these rewards all the time and getting them in relatively large amounts. I even saw a member's blog in which they claimed they make half their pay out in search rewards alone (I won't name you but if you're reading this, please, do chime in). Ok lotters, what am I doing wrong (if anything)? Is there some trick I'm missing? Am I really that dumb? (always a possibility) Do your rewards seem to be dependent on what you are searching?

Hi xfahctor, You are not alone, I too use it responsibly and to date, in my full membership here I have only received one reward. I have received the "suspicious activity" twice while researching for articles I was writing. I too clear my cookies often, use it responsibly, make unique and legit searches. I did notice you, Booze above and I are from US, not sure if that is relevant, just wondering though. Maybe interesting to see if other countries are simply luckier. Simply guessing. So my only guess is that unfortunately you and I are simply not one of those "lucky ones". Sorry I can't provide any tricks as I thought it was simply to be used as we do any search engine and not abuse it. Sadly you and I are not abusing it and still get the warning. hmmm lol

I have never been one of the lucky ones in anything :( If it is luck dependent, I'm...well, out of luck, lol. It might be dependent on location, but I thought I saw somewhere where an admin said that earnings were not location dependent. Although it seems she said that in reference to activity rather than rewards, I can't imagine it would be different. Who knows. I can't see why we should get a warning for getting nothing. I could see it if someone was getting reward after reward and then sent a warning, but cripe, I can't see what harm trying and failing to get one would be. Just can't figure this place out some times.

I search for information which I need to know and generally open at least one of the links, usually several. I believe that this may prevent me from getting many warnings: it certainly increases the time between searches, which is very likely one of the factors involved in whether a warning is generated or not. I haven't counted how many searches I make but some time ago, when I was using another paid-to-search program, I was making an average of about 11 searches a day. I don't suppose much has changed in my search habits since then. I can generally get about 6 or 7 rewards a month and, so far, they have nearly all been in the range of 15 to 20 cents. This means that, in a month, I seem to be getting a dollar or so in rewards, which is acceptable to me. I don't know what factors are taken into account when calculating the rewards but certainly most people I have seen discussing it seem to have their own 'personal' range. In other words, individuals seem to get rewards within a certain range.

Since I am searching for things I genuinely want to find both on the web and here on mylot, I usually also spring off the links that come up. But I do tend to search for a number of things in a short period as some of the things I search for are not what one might normally search. This means a lot of my searches come up empty so I sometimes end up phrasing the search in several different ways. That may be why I keep getting that warning? *shrug* I hope it isn't dependent on the individual user. I'd hate to find that I am stuck in the lowest end of the low bracket.

I use the Mylot rearch engine alot. I use it everyday. I get awards,on average, ever 2 to 3 days. I make more then a few cents! I won't say how much but it usually adds up to be around two dollars a month. Maybe you aren't searching enough? Maybe you should contact Mylot? I think it would not hurt.

Nah, I'm not gonna bother the admins over it, I'm sure they have better things to do than listen to me whine. It isn't that big a deal I guess. I was just hoping to get a feel for who these rewards were going to and in what amounts and see if there was a pattern and if I was doing something wrong, or at least, not right enough.

I also don't know how exactly mylot algorithm count this search feature. Base on my experience that i might one of person who get a half earning from this feature, I set up my browser hompage to mylot search page. I use it in regular basis to search. And its worth up to 0.20 after few days later.

What do you mean a few days later? The rewards I get are always instantly added to my earnings. How much are each of your rewards worth? And how do you not get that warning if you use it that much?

Hey dude, i think there is certainly some fault in this reward system. Because all rewards i have won worth more than 15 cents. I have won rewards about 7-8 times. But though i have given up searching it, because i am enjoying discussing here. I think mylot has modified something in their search box, and there changes are only applicable for new members. I hope everything will be fine for all.

Hello xfahctor, It is true that we get rewards from MYLOT i think you are not that much lucky as me as i made $2.58 from the search engine last month there have been times when i got reward twice in a day and the reward varied from 4 cents to 24 cents. Its very often i do get reward from search engine but only thing is you have to use it more & more. I hope you will get rewards if you use it to the fullest. Best of luck.

It's not just about what you are searching, but how many discussions you respond to. I know that I get much of my money from how many discussions that I respond to.

Rewards come from using the myLot search not from responding to discussions as you can see here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq24.aspx

Thanks mysdianait for the link so I could read about it. So I just used it, searched and nothing happened, except I found the information I was looking for and I marked the page as a favourite. Does it show up right away if I get rewarded or will it show when they update our earnings, or did I even do it right or will I even get rewarded. I don't know and will see, I guess.

In my eyes YOU ARE A WINNER. I have been here since Moses was a lad and I have had two, that's 2, rewards from the search function. Cannot remember how much they were worth. I was going to say it may be dependant on which country you live but I see that is not the case. I too, have noticed people commenting on how lucrative using the myLot search facility is but are they telling the truth??? Maybe they are just trying to make themselves important.

goodmorning xfahctor, I am totally lost reading your discussion and the responses to it, can you help me? I have no clue what you guys are talking about, searching and rewards. I have been a member with mylot for 5 years but I was away around the period of this discussion being posted and I need some updating here. I have read a few comments here and there since I have been back...about this reward thing and something about searching but I don't have a clue. I have asked a couple other members about it but no one is giving me an answer, maybe afraid of breaking some rule or other, so if you don't want to answer me in detail, is there a link somewhere here where I can read about it, something mylot has posted? Please help me my friend so I understand this search thing and rewards, Cheers and happy mylotting my friend Talk to you soon, Chris

I do a LOT of searching for my article writing and found that using the search engine here is very unrewarding. I used it several times a day for a couple of weeks and made a grand total of 19ยข!! So I found another option that brings me about $10 a month in Amazon gift certificates--or any other one that I want. They give you points for searching, not every search but about every 6-10 searches it announces you've won some credits. One thing I've learned in the few years I've been earning money online is that if I'm not rewarded often I should quit what I'm doing and find something more profitable. I know some people earn regularly with the myLot search engine but the one I use is much more profitable for me.

hi xfahctor well I have it figured out as there are gremlins and they told the mylot search engine oh do not reward that hatley. so lo and behold I have used the bad words engine since they first instigated the small rewards and I have not made any rewards, not even one or two cent ones. so am convinced I have been black balled on the damned myulot search thing but hey I make out all right by posting so am not crying at all.

I'm pretty certain there is a no-rewards-for-xfahctor in place too. Or at least a very-few-and-low-end-rewards gremlin. Owlings made the observation that certain people seem to get rewards with in the same range, so I wonder if it is somehow specific to each user. Doesn't seem it should be but it does seem to be the general consensus, so who knows.

I have seen that suspicious activity notifier flash in front of me, but i still get a reward of 18-20 cents every other day. I do not think that the rewards are dependent on the searching we do because I have not seen a lot of deflection between my rewards, they range from 18-20 cents now a days. After reading all those responses up I can conclude one thing that mylot has chosen people who will get rewarded more often and people who will get rewarded less.

"mylot has chosen people who will get rewarded more often and people who will get rewarded less" I don't agree with this statement and if admin reads it I doubt that he will either. The myLot rewards are like lottery tickets - everyone is a winner one day, even if it is only a small prize. The important thing is never to give up.

I never give up. And I guess I am one of the luckiest persons here who receives that lottery ticket more often than a few other people around here

I heard lots of mylotters talking about rewards. But how to get it? I want to try. But I don't have a clue about it.

I've given up trying. I simply do not use myLot's search engine anymore. I've never received a single penny and I was using it since it first began. Yeah, I've heard other members talking about how much they earn with this search engine. I guess I just have rotten luck. So, instead of wasting my time trying, I've given up and use another search engine when I need to do a search. Sorry I can't help any.

Heyya xfahctor! I actually just got my first search engine reward last week! I never thought I was going to get one and to be honest..I don't know what the contributing factor is.

I have tried that search thing when the need arises but never got any reward from that activity. I do not want to abuse it either because I am afraid of it's consequences. Whoever that person is, how lucky of him/her.

I also like your case but did not know how to solve
