Terrorists and we, the people.

Whenever there is any terrorist attack in our locality or city of residence, what we usually do? We finish our duty by communicating with our family members, friends and colleagues with the information that ‘I am safe’. We condemn the government as well as the administration for their callousness but in spite of knowing their limitations as well as inability to curb it, we never come forward and never try to find out any remedy for it. If this state of affairs continues to go on, a day will surely come when there will be none left to receive our message that ‘I am safe’.

The terrorists we have to worry about are the US, British, French, Italian and Israeli governments: It is these governments that create terrorism and indoctrinate folks to commit acts of terrorism.

That's funny. Many people would say the US is the bully who goes around terrorising (and training terrorists, supplying arms to them, etc.). In truth, all governments attempt to indoctrinate their people and as long as we have countries and politics, there will always be terrorists. Stupid, really, since the reaction to them is always "We won't bow to terrorism". I wonder what they think they're achieving.

Hi Netsbridge, the governments you have mentioned may not be terrorists in the true sense of the word but it is true that there are enough evidences that previously they had encouraged terrorism for their own gain but when it is the time of being victims of terrorism, they are asking the whole world to stand unitedly to fight it. It is no doubt an irony of fate.

I know that as citizens it is our responsible to work in a direction and help the authorities in preventing such things but a main work to do lies at the government end and the policies made by them. We are now a days afraid of police and no one wants to mess with them and are considered as terror in uniform on a government pay. We have to learn from countries like the USA so that we prevent such attacks. moreover i think that there is a need of reconstruction of the constitution and especially in the law and order. If the corruption from this department is removed then we will see a drastic change in our country but it seems that our government works on the policy that " If you ignore the problem, the problem no longer exists". It is excruciating to see the current responses of the leading people in our country.

Yes, I agree with you that our government cannot see unless pressurized but can not understand that blind people also cannot see but that never remove their problems rather aggravates them. So the government must pay attention to all kinds probable chances of attack from the terrorists. The impression of people about the police should be changed but this can only be done when police would have a pro-people feeling. Police is still now considered as an organized evil force. So police force needs to change its image to the people so that people can fearlessly come to them and consequently can help them in achieving their goal to curb the terrorists.

I was a little surprised to learn that you live in India. We must be not receiving all the news here in the U S. I remember when the terrorist took over that hotel a few months ago, but that is about all the news I've seen in our local paper. Now, we hear about troubles in your neighbor to the west all the time. You stated that you condemn the government, but are you complaining to the right people? Write letters to your representatives in the government. Who is responsible for the terrorism? Get involved in your local government.

I hope I will never have to experience this in my life. But how can we blame the government for a thing he didn't know about? Everybody can be a terrorist, so the government should listen carefully to all of the phone talks, read every message we send and all? I am just wondering...

I am feeling sorry about such state in other countries. As matter of fact, what is the truly meaning of life, and peace. Can both of words and its attached meaning be merge to other. When are those people really coming to sense that people are actually suffering from battle, and fight. How many of homes and families been destroyed, and annihilated. We, as people really hoping for peace and despise hatred.

Terrorism is, by definition, a political action. It's usually caused by political and/or social turmoil within a society. It's generally done by people who feel oppressed or cheated and have no other way to communicate. In such a diverse society there will always be potential for terrorists. But rather than oppress and target people through laws which can reinforce their actions. We need to be more tolerant and open to other peoples ideas giving them a better way to express themselves than a car bomb. I in no way sympathize with terrorists or approve of their actions. But such extreme cases should require a measure of prevention. The KKK terrorized blacks 100 years ago, but rather then hunt them down and lock them up we let them express their ideas through, pamphlets, gatherings, and now over the internet. I don't agree with them, they still represent oppression, but it's far better than cross burnings and lynchings. It's still a problem, but one that is far less threatening and easier to address.
