Got a new computer

Hi Everyone! You remember that my computer crashed... well... I took that one to the shop, and then I stopped over to the AT&T store and bought a new mini laptop. It's a Dell Inspiron mini laptop... I really like it. I don't have to hook up to in internet connection because I have an air card that works like a cell phone. When I get my old laptop out of the shop I will then always have a backup computer if something happens. Since I work at home, I cannot afford to be one day without a computer. I'm going on vacation starting today, and will be going to New York and Vermont... I'm taking this little laptop with me. It will work on a battery for a little more than 5 hours. I've already tested it without being plugged in, and it is really good with the battery. I'll be checking in on you all while I am away on my trip. It's a long ride with nothing to do, so mylotting will be just the thing to keep my mind occupied. So that is all the news with me right now... How is your day? Have you gotten anything new lately, because you needed it?

Hi Letran. I got mine at AT&T... and I got a great deal. I paid $119.99 for it and got a rebate of $100 .. so the laptop (mini) is actually only 20 bucks! I really like it. It's small.. it doesn't have all the extras on it like a CD ROM or anything... you have to use an external disc drive if you want to watch movies from a dvd.. but for my needs it is perfect. It comes with Word Pad.. so it is perfect for my writing. It's got lots of memory too.

PQ I thought the costs to the air card was a little to steep for me. I pay 35 dollars a month for DSL and the air card was more than double that.

Oh wow congratulations, I like your computer. Actually I have a crush on Dell mini, its cute! But here in the Philippines, Dell is expensive so I bought an Asus instead. But if i can save money, id like to sell my Asus and buy one, too.

Before you give it to her to use you really should download a good virus software like Avast. Some of those Facebook apps are not malware free.

That is great. I am glad that you got you a new one. We got a new window air conditioner and it helps keep the new room cool and helps the central air unit.

Yes, computers are a necessity these days. Who knew 30 years ago that computers would be so necessary. I can remember when I never had one and never needed one... but now I work at home and without my computer I couldn't earn.

I just assembled an i7 computer. The specifications are 4GB Memory, 2 GB Video Card, 1 TB Hard drive and a 20" LG Flatron. Total price is at around $700. Not a bad bargain, its fast and I can edit videos out of it with ease.

This is cool, and would be something easier to carry than a bulky laptop for sure. Did you have to have a AT&T cellphone with them, or is this just something different that they now offer, and how much is it costing you to be online? I know personally my only connections right now is my regular computer or my laptop if I am going to be around somewhere that has WIFI. Would be nice for other options that are more accessible almost anywhere for sure.

I've been nursing my PC for most of this year. I'm expecting it to crash anytime now!!! I really don't have the money to buy a new one at this time, so I just keep babying the one I've got & praying for just one more day!!! I hope you enjoy your trip!!!!

Wow! I want to say congrats, my friend. I wish to have a new one too. Because my pc is now 1 year old when I bought it. Many pc today are really good and not so expensive just like before. They are more efficient and most powerful than the computer before

Pointless, happy to hear you had got another new laptop to replace your crashed computer. As for me, i recently got one smart laptop not for me, but for my son. Now, he learn to read more and even learn more spelling and calculation as well. I am satisfied that i had bought it for him. At least, my son is learning something new everyday. Same like myself, learning many new things through Mylot, too.

Nice! Happy trip PQ! Laptop or PC is already a need nowadays. I could not imagine too how life would be without the computer and internet. Well, for something new lately? Uhm, the microphone...I just a bought a microphone for I already missed singing my favorite song, just for relaxation. By singing out loud, with close room of course helps me release bad energy acquired in the day to day life. Stress will be removed too :-)

Hi PQ! I too was away for two in half weeks and have been back for over a week and wondered why I did not see you. I am glad to hear you have a nice new mini laptop and hope it is working out great. I own a Dell laptop and love mine and trust Dell whole heartedly. I hope you had a fabulous trip as mine did not go so well, but so glad to be back and hope to see you soon.

hi dear PointlessQuestions, a while ago I got me a tablet computer. The user manual is online so I got to wait till I am home to read it comfortably if I have a question, but so far I learned the basics and can at least read mails when I am not home over the week. Thats a huge step forward for me to be able to do that for sure.

hi pointless questions I was going to say,in a poor me wayno nothing new, boohoo but yes my son uploaded WindowsXP professional on my computer to replace my 11 year old windows 2000 so am now learning how to use it b ut its really simpler than 2000 really. I love it infact.Iam glad you got yourself a good mini laptop and Dell is one of the best so I am told. Doing professional work on the net you have to have a working computer.my day is fine now that my son called and told me he was coming over today but got up late and so he will be here tomorrow afternoon so I am again happy about that. llol anyway now you will have a backup with your older laptop so thats good too. God bless hugs from hatley.
