This sounds so crazy to me. Like, how you can force someone to eat?? Those are the weirdest rules ever. It hurts that there is still religion being smothered in the world.

yeah it it. but if it's their law in their country you obliged to obey since you are in their country. if you are muslim and you want to celebrate ramadan, you need to get out of that country and go to a place where you are free to express your freedom, where you can celebrate ramadan. you cannot go against the government since that would not be easy and espcially if you are not a citizen of that country.

that would really hard for them. but they can do it in secret but the problem would be when they get caught. i'm sure they will go to prison for that.

No, there are certain areas over which the government should not have power, this being one of them all the best urban

As far as I know there is no freedom of religion in China. So I'm not surprised. However China is not the only country where one can no openly practice their religion. It is the same in some Muslim counties.

China only allows religions that are controlled by the government to operate there. So China is not really attacking any religion but all religions that cannot be controlled.

You have a point here. However, some muslim countries openly reveal that they govern with shariah law. China, however, does not govern under such law so it is discrimination against just muslims.

Hi penny4urthoughts, I'm very sorry to hear that but I guess there is no freedom of religion in China.People must be allowed to worship as they choose but this isn't true everywhere as yet.I know that fasting for Ramadan is very important to Muslims. Blessings.

Well what was the reason why they banned it? And if they really want to implement that rule strictly, how could they monitor all the Muslims in China? Are they planning on watching every Muslim household? I think they should just let Muslim's be. I mean everyone must respect the differences of another person. It's their faith, and we should respect it no matter what.

Chinese governments are full of hypocrites. How can they ever do this? They are killing females by selective gender abortion, they are loading toxic chemicals in their products, they are wasting our money by selling sub-standard electronic gadgets. What other worst things can they do?Fasting is very important for Muslims, and it's so rude for them to deprive our brothers to practice their religion. They claim to be so kind, not even taking the life of every creature possibly not even cockroaches, and yet they are killing humans secretly.

It's crazy. Sometimes it gets me really sad that people hate muslims. I just don;t get why they judge all of us based on terrorists..

That is really bad. Someone should do something. Chinese can practice Buddhism freely but why cannot Muslims. They are human being and should be treated like one.

really? if the news is true, I regret the incident as a Muslim It`s a human right to fast in accordance with his religious order( fasting in Ramadhan is order in our religion) Government or COuntry should not prohibit people running their religious obligations

Good day to you Penny4urThoughts, With reference to your main topic discussion, perhaps, we should exercise our respect in regards to this. As we all know, different countries have different ways of adoring Gods. And that ways have different approach and procedures. Hence, one country must exercise a way on how they should treat and respect other countries in terms of religious matters. As this attitude is not truly far on how we should respect our fellow mankind. Thus, a little respect is worth a hundred fold of returns.

That's a good question. Maybe some new kind of Chinese food program where they shove it down everybody's throats. Seriously, I think their just saying the Muslim community cannot show itself to be celebrating: No organized observance, no public displays of fasting, etc. Of course, that's still politically cruel. Actually, it kind of sounds like the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell Policy" of the US military. -The "O No He Didn't" Rat

That's not right. Ramadan is an important part of the moslem faith, banning something from a faith is like an indirect persecution. I am Christian but I live in mixed faith community and what I learned from that community is respect in each others belief.
