I Filed The Paperwork With The Diabetes Association

With the paperwork pertaining to the complaints, and things that my Boss was doing that was not legal. I stated about the problems with the Filth, the way he was threatening to cut my hours, etc. I also mentioned how he has never confronted me about any of these issues, nor has any of it ever been in writing, which is not right either, and now waiting to hear what my next steps from here needs to be. I also stated I have pictures of the Filth and will get any documents from doctors about what is going on, and the amount of times I have needed an antibiotic etc, because of working here as well. I have my regular Doctor who is standing 100% behind me as well as my Case manager from the Wound Healing Center. This could be a long battle, but I am hoping will be worth it to keep others there from having the same issues as there are at least 3 others I know who are Diabetic. I will definately keep you updated as I am sure there is lots more to come. But been feeling a little more peace at work right now after having the one paperwork from the Wound center faxed to my Boss, and now making this complaint, but wondering what to expect next. (Somehow expecting things to try and backfire, or fight for my job, etc. in the end.) ~~TINA~~

I expect that once the boss learns that you have filed complaints it is going to get kind of hot and bothered around there. You do, however, need to stand up for yourself and you are doing so in an appropriate manner.

Well, I will be making a phone call again in a couple of hrs. and asking some more questions. I thought things were a little too quiet at work. I have been a situation at hand again at work that is needing some advice. And to think after all these notes and things everyone keeps on faxing into them. In the end I hope he learns a lesson before something comes back to bite him.

Hopefully the job doesn't treat you worse in hoping that you will quite. Hopefully you get treated better after this and they realize that they can treat people however they choose that there is laws against that.

Well, they might be hoping I would quit while probably never suspecting I would go this far to complain about them. I know when my job was faxed the paperwork from the Wound Healing Center they were probably like "WOW!!" But personally I know they never probably thought I would be that smart. But then they never want to give me any credit for anything, even though I have told them I have run my own business before etc. So no matter what I am there to stay until I know where my next step needs to be from here.

I am very proud of you, my freind. This can't be easy as sick as you are. It is a good thing to get all this down and let others know. And what a doctor, huh? Only way is full speed ahead. Whatever happens you are doing the right thing. Keep a positive thought in your head girl. You are doing the right thing!

Personally right now I have a lot of people 100% for me, and the only ones really trying to fight everything is my Boss and some of the other people that I work with. I am in the process of going further than here as so very much advised, and Praying and believing no matter what comes from this everything will work out for the Best.

Good on you for filing the paperwork. I’m sure it was not an easy thing to do. I hope your boss doesn’t make life harder for you but he has to adhere to the rules regardless. You are making a stand which will help others as well and I commend you for doing so.

Well this is something I knew I had to do. It was something that I was tired of him being so controlling and in and thinking he could out rule everyone even when others have severe Health issues. Not sure what will become of all of this, but really hoping somehow I can improve things a little for everyone else working there as well to prevent them from having to go thru living Hell there as well.

Well all I can say is I am just hoping one of these days him or whoever else is being horrible with this situation where I work at never has to decide between a job, their Health care and other finances out there as well. Personally it actually surprises me that someone can really think everything is OK and they are doing everything that is right.

Hi Tina. I'm sort of concerned that your boss will find some way to fire you or let you go. It would kind of like filing a law suit against your employer while still expecting to work and get a pay check. I wish you luck with this. I definitely think there should people cleaning up the place. Shouldn't there be people assigned to cleaning up the place? Whose job is it to clean their areas? I think you have a lot of courage to do this. I hope things get better without causing you stress on the job.

Well due to another situation that arose just tonight, I will be calling the Diabetic Association and refering to my claim, etc. and asking some more questions explaining the New situation and finding out what my Best options need to be from here. I could move on to another job I might get offered a chance at, but not sure if that would be the Best. Really wanting to somehow make a statement to protect any others working there who might one day endure serious Health issues as well.

Well if you have read the latest issues with my job, there might not be a choice but to file a claim with the EEOC from here. If nothing happens, then in reality the company has some backing somewhere that I know nothing else about, and personally I think he is aware I have said something as the Wound Clinic called him and asked him if he had ever heard of FMLA. Seriously from here it is really up to God.

I think it is okay to make a statement, but at what cost? Yes, you will probably make some noise, but you may not really change anything. You may just be seen more as a liability and a trouble maker. I'm not saying that you are, but I'm saying that people who like to make noise are often the ones left with nothing. I think you should take care of yourself first. As long as you have lots of backing, you might get away with suing them and shutting them down or making them clean up their act... I am just more worried about you than anything. Employers have a way of coming out on top in almost any situation... be careful.. okay? I've been through a law suit once too in my job and I didn't win. Mine was over a back injury. I'm disabled because of it.

I'm glad you filed the paperwork about your complaints. Has it done any good? Sorry for the late response on this, but I am just now starting to go through the old emails. Hopefully, getting this in the works will help things to improve for you. Have a great weekend!!!

Well, he would have to have a darn good excuse besides being late, etc. And the problem would be I have filed the paperwork and such so I have the coverage now to where it would have to be an attorney thru them telling me to give it up if he was to let me go for any reason. I have done the Steps exactly as they have been advising and now I just wait to see what I need to do from here. Since I have been praying I am believing God is in control and if it is another job instead than that will happen.

Employeers can fire you for no reason even if you have made cpmplaints and all that other jazz. I still think the way you should go is to try your darnest to get on disability or start a home busniess on your computer. I once was fired for no reason and I see that will happen to you. It sounds like your boss doesn't care about any of his emplyees and will get rid of the ones who cause trouble. No matter what you do your boss will get around this! Just wait and see!

This battle could be a long battle that you are in for, indeed. However, the issues that you are going through at work are not issues that anyone should have to put up with. Especially the filth. For you as a diabetic, it does make issues worse because it could lead to infections in wounds, etc. However, it is also something that isn't safe for any employee. With that said, I hope that you don't face any negative ramifications in your battle.

Good Luck! I doubt if your boss will be to happy, but it will be worth it in the long run. If nothing else conditions might improve for others.

I think no matter what happens from here, it will not really make much of a difference for me for the way things have been, even though it will bring satisfaction and hopefully help more people out in the end. My Boss will never be Happy which actually I feel Sorry for, but know there is nothing I can do.

Well, things are looking up and things are getting better. Just read some of the last 2 updates and such I have been posting. I know even though it may seem a struggle right now, God is in control and Great things are going to come from this. It has been rough, and I would not wish this on anyone else for sure.

Hi Tina! I am glad you completed the paperwork and the ball will start rolling. No one should be treated this way and or work in this type of environment. Hopefully your boss cooperates and makes the necessary changes. If he tries to pull a fast one you will have some backing there as legally you do have rights. Perhaps it will not be quick changes but I am glad that something will come out of this and a better environment and or something good will come out of this for you. Do not agree to anything with your boss verbally and maybe start documenting any funny business as The labor board can protect you as long as you have documentation. Best of luck and yes do keep us posted, fingers crossed my friend and prayers as well.

Personally now since there has never been any Paperwork with him Writing me up, or telling me my hrs. were going to be cut, as well as my Medical, etc. it is truly his word against mine. I do have documentation of everything that has been going on and had a lot of papers etc. faxed into him as proof. As to the filth in the work place I do have pictures. Just trying to protect other and future Diabetics working in this environment as well.

Dear Tina, All I can give is prayer and moral support, and also encouragement. Never give up on that battle. Your boss deserves all that legal battles. Labor cases in the Philippines filed against companies and boss usually win because our Labor Code is in favor of the workers. Praying for your health.

Well it will be a Battle to the finish, and if nothing becomes of all of this I will really feel Sorry for anyone who chooses to stay and work there. I am really doing this for more than myself. I am also doing it to protect every other Diabetic and other people who might experience any major Health issues in the future there as well. There is another situation that also just arose that I will be making a call on today and going from there. Personally it will be a Battle but know God is in control and one day everything will be OK.

It's good that you have gotten things started. Yes, it will likely be a long battle, but it is necessary given the situation. If workers don't fight for their rights, those rights will be trampled by unscrupulous bosses and companies.

Im sorry you have to fight like this while taking care of yourself. Its not fair and you shouldnt have to since you have a doctor behind you. Surely doctors know best? I remember a girl being pregnant where I used to work and all the time she was pregnant, our manager would fight her on everything, all the time, non stop!! I felt so sorry for her, because it should have been a happy time in her life. She says her daughter is always angry now......no wonder!! Hope all goes well for you......soon, very soon!!

How are you Tina? It is good to hear that you are moving on to fighting for your rights. In such a way your boss will not also abuse the rest of your co-workers who are diabetics too. It is the best thing to be done, and now you see you are gaining peace of mind and it is a good sign. I believe your cause is something worth fighting for. Good luck! May God be with you every step of the battle.
