More Books, Less Time To Read

A friend said that I buy books faster than I read them. I didn't realize this is until I saw at least ten books on my cabinet, waiting, begging to be read ^^ Now I wonder if "my buying of books" is an addiction - if I am just trying to divert my attention by reading or trying to avoid some tasks because I have books to read. Oh, I am waiting for another delivery of three books. Whew!

Three months ago, I bought about 10 books from book fair. It can't be helped, those are really good books, and with discounted price! xD And up to now, only three that I already red. Seven of them even still in their plastic seals And also, in that three months, I was buying another books Okay, because now I remember it again, I will read it all in this month!

I enjoy buying books sometimes almost as much as reading them. A beautiful book that looks nice with a good cover is a good ornament. Also the smell of a freshly printed book is one of my favourite smells - like good coffee. Part of the thrill and excitement of book buying is when a beautiful looking book is also an incredible read.

I have the same bit of "problem" as you. I love buying books especially new releases by my favorite authors. Right now, I still have 27 books waiting in my bookshelf to be read by me. I buy approximately five to eight books every month, even if still have a huge reading backlog. I cannot seem to help it. But I try to read at least one book a week.

You are right. Today we face the heavy working and family pressure. We hardly have our own free time. This is true that we have less time to read in today's busy life. However, time can be squeezed. Sometimes even if I don't have the free time at present, but once I find a nice book, I will still buy it. I can read it later. It will be quite frustrating that you miss a good book. I love China

I can certainly understand how you feel. It's certainly the same way with me. It seems that I have more books that I haven't read than I am able to read. I buy books faster than I can read them. I'm not sure why that is but it's just the way that I am. It's the way that I've always been.

I buy books a bit faster than I read them too. I LOVE to read, but I'm always getting backed up on my reading material because when I see a book I want to read then I usually get a copy and stick it on my to-read shelf. I go through them pretty fast, but then I buy more. lol There's not enough time for all the wonderful books that I want to read.

I'm really not into books. I always feel bored whenever I read a book especially the not interesting one. But I admire those who like to read a lot. If I were you, I will read a book once a week para mas masaya hehe... Para na rin hindi mo nakakaligtaang gawin yung mga ibang bagay na dapat mong gawin.

I love reading book and even when I get them out of the library, I can read them faster than I can get them. I am saving up to purchase more books and can't wait, because now I am rereading a book, again..lol

That's pretty much how it seems to work, isn't it? I have about 10-15 books "in queue" (as I call it) - ready for me to read - and it's not that I don't even have the time - it's just that I don't MAKE the time for reading! Even 10 minutes a day is better than nothing and would help me get through my big stack of "to reads" - but nooooo! lol! I have the same problem as you. I love going to thrift stores and finding books that look interesting or ordering them off Amazons from some of my old favorite authors. The problem for me is ALWAYS getting to actually reading them. lol. Buying them is like a sport to me, though, so I know what you mean.

Hehe I love buying books and comics too. My sister especially loves buying books more than me, I am just a comic book junkie Anyway I have a few unread comic books and novels around me too. But I like the idea of how they are there, as a back up for a boring day. I purposely don't read one or two coz they are the entertainment for a boring day or a rainy day. Re-reading the already read book just doesn't have the same thrill

Wow! Good for you that you still able to buy books! I live in a far rural area and bookstore are none. You have to travel to go to the main city. I still have some books that I swap to a school reading center to get my dose of reading. :) I have less time to read nowadays too because of the internet but I always bring a book when going out of the house to ease boredom in travel and in line when paying bills. I live an hour away from the main city so reading books keeps me company. I hope your books aren't just dust collectors in your house. :) I hope you read them once and a while. Care to share what books you have and fancy?

There are a large number of books that one can't read them all. There is not enough time for that, although many of them are really masterpieces. So you need to be selective in order to read the books you think are worth to read. Finally you can read at least the foreword and the introduction. Good reading!

That's okay. I am sure that you will be able to find time to read those books. It is fine just to collect some now and read them at your most convenient time. At least they are already there when you need them. And your money will not be wasted anyway because your children will have it for later use. We also have different books here of different kinds and I love buying them, but didn't have much time reading right after I had a child and now that I am pregnant again. But I surely will one of these days. Just don't ignore them because they would love you to read them. Happy reading my friend.
