While searching the Internet I came across a weird food. French toast and bacon cupcake. I did not know if I wanted to devour such a wonderful combination or gag! Just imagine the cake part being like fresh toast. The frosting was cream cheese, maple syrup, and had bacon crumbles. What weird combos will thy think of next? Would you try this strange cupcake?

I have heard of this combination before, and I think that it sounds disgusting. I definitely would not go out of my way to try it, and more likely I would try to avoid it. If I was at a party where they were being served, though, I might decide to try one just to see. There are some things that sound disgusting that actually taste good, so you just can't tell and I would probably at least take a chance and see for myself.

I don't eat often French toasts but in my mind they are associated with sugar, jam or syrup, and not with bacon. I agree it is a weird food ; I search the recipe and I had a chill when reading it : if it is a gag it is a bad one.

It is definitely not a joke. I saw it on one of the cooking shows that my brother and my little one like to watch together. I thought that it sounded absolutely disgusting, but I guess some people really like it. There were four people there that had never had it, and they tried it ... two women and two men. They thought that the salty/sweet taste would appeal more to the women, but actually it was divided evenly - one man and one woman though it was delicious and the other man and woman almost gagged when they tried it. I guess that it is one of those things that you either really love or really hate.

It looks really disgusting. I am not against salty/sweet food, but it is not good for everything, and I can't understand how some people can find this "weird concoction" delicious.

I actually do not find many salty/sweet combinations that appealing. There are some that I like ... trail mix for instance or peanut M&Ms. I really do not like chocolate or yogurt covered pretzels, though. I am not opposed to trying it, even if it does look and sound disgusting, because sometimes things taste better than they sound at first.

Hello cupcake and welcome to myLot. I like french toast and I like bacon but i don't care much for cakes unless it is something like carrot cake. I wouldn't gag but wouldn't try it either. I should have read it better. I might try it if the maple syrup was left off. I like my french toast with just butter and I don't have a sweet tooth. I do like crem cheese but it is iffy on french toast.

Once I tried a combo of sour cream and powdered sugar on my French toast. It sounds gross but it was fancy tasting and awesome. I am still unsure about this cupcake. I like bacon but not that much!

Ha ha stowyk, why will it make you sick? Have you tried one? I don't think it had a whole lot of bacon in it.

I will try just about anything. It might just end up being really good. My nephew liked chocolate chip cookies with little bits of bacon in them. I tried them, they are not too bad, except you are still chewing on the bacon bits long after the rest of the cookie is gone. This combination sounds even better though because french toast and bacon go nicely together and the cream cheese and maple syrup balance out the salty and the sweet. It would certainly be interesting to try.

I hate chewy bacon! My bacon has to be nice and crisp! Yes, the breakfast combo does sound good, better than the dark chocolate bacon cupcake recipe I saw!

I think I would try it yeah.. I mean why not? French toast is egg and bread.. and technically a cupcake is sort of bread/sponge .. and it is made with egg lol! .. So why not? and bacon is just yummy no matter what haha.. so yeah.. I'd give it a go! I once saw a chilli and chocolate cupcake.. it was actually lovely!
