Reading is very vital in our everyday life. We are learning everyday. It is through reading where we can acquire wisdom. It is our duty to acquire knowledge and wisdom as much as we can, and develop the right and admirable habit of reading good books. Many popular and successful man are great readers. No one can ever say that he knows everything because we are still learning no matter how genius you are. The world has a lot of stories that no one else knows it all, only our God. Never quit reading good books, it allows you to create a beautiful and sound mind. It allows you to experience the beauty of other places and the character of each person through reading.

But you didn't actually answer the question, my friend. :) Anyway, reading is important because it broadens your knowledge. Reading can take you everywhere and see anything- from the realities of everyday life, to the school of wizardry in Hogwarts, to the four corners of the world, to the depths of the oceans, to the vastness of the universe- everywhere.

Yes, reading does give us wisdom. The thoughts of others is brought home to us. I am sure God just sets around reading and upping his genius qoutient. I think that reading does open the world to us and the thoughts of others. It also helps us leave our chaotic worlds behind for a period of time.

Reading is fun, you can create an imaginary world in your mind to enjoy and to escape from everyday life. When you read with children, it encourages them to read more.

I agree wholeheartedly. There are a million and one reasons everyone should be an avid reader, and counting up all the time! I think avid reading has allowed me to do lots of things in life easier, like make great grades, retain information, become a better writer, and all sort of things. I wish everyone knew how great avid reading is!

I LOVE reading! Not that I'm in New York, I've never seen so many people reading on the trains or in the park or even while walking! Reading is the simplest way you can entertain yourself, the best way to educate yourself. When she was young, a famous character actress from the early days of television was told by her father that if she reads all of the Bible and all of Shakespeare's works, she'll have an entire Liberal Arts degree in her head. This may be an exaggeration, but the point is there: Reading enriches your life, opens your mind, broadens your way of living, and makes you a more interesting person :)

Yes, reading is very important, it is because through reading we can learn lots of things. We can know many things in all over the world, and enjoy the beauty of some great works. There is a saying goes" there is gold in the books and there is beauty in the books". If we choose the right books to read, they can benefit all our life. Without reading, we can not get the knowledge that enable us to have the ability to work in the future, without reading, we are blind in our minds. So reading is vital to our life.

If I were only able to teach my children one thing at school, it would be to read. Because if you can read you can find out all the information that you will ever need, and transport yourself to other worlds in your imagination.

Yes, it's really true.Everyday of our life is a continuous learning for us.There are many ways to acquire such learning, like reading informative books, mingling with different kinds of people or attending formal education. But even though we have acquired knowledge through education, we need to read more especially about the things that had not been taught while we were in school.

That's right! My Dad use to stress out about this to me when I was younger because when I was a kid, I hated reading! You could never persuade me to pick up a book. In primary school, I was forced to read. You know what I did? I simply skimmed or glanced at the words and I would finish a whole novel in like 10 minutes. Now, I've realized how crucial it is to read and I actually read everyday day for a bit. It improves my vocab.
