I used to have occasional panic attacks but I did not take any medication for it. I never like to be dependent on medication.

thats great you were able to manage without meds. its always best to try to be able to cope up with it physically without use of medication as far as possible.

I have, but they are not so frequent I have to be medicated for them. It happens 2 or 3 times a year, almost always at work where I'm surrouded by people EVERYWHERE and I start feeling claustrophobic and just need to be alone for a seocond or I feel like the walls are closing in on me.,

yes, I've had them.thrice to be exact. Twice, while i was in a cab, and twice the cab driver brought me to the emergency room because i thought i was going to have heart attack, it was really scary and painful. The doctors wanted me to go on medications, just to "calm"me . but i refused to take them. I tried to backtrack and recall everything that happened on those 3 occasions. fortunately for me, i found the triggering factor for my panic/anxiety attack. 2 days prior to my first attack, our house was robbed. everything's taken and 1 of our neighbors saw and was able to describe 1 of the robbers. And so every time i see a man fitting the description, i get anxious and panic. Talking to a counselor or a psychologist helps .And i got over it, thank God. Panic attacks can be caused by recent changes in life... I hope your wife is alright now,

faced it a lot. Especially in very stressful conditions such as exams, got caught doing something wrong, getting told off by a senior staff. Its experienced by all I guess at some point or another. It is natural most of the times and its really important to maintain calm and know how to handle it

Yes, I had two episodes in my life. And it was - ironically - amazing how a nervous system can go in tilt in a range of few seconds. Fortunately I had some time to take one pill of 0.5 mg Xanax despite the inability to swallow properly..

Yep I have experienced a panic attack before. I will confess in saying I never really believed they were a real thing til i experienced one for myself. After I had one I called my sister and apologized to my sister for never believing her about them. and she had my full support after that whenever she needed it.

I have had many panic attacks and was even diagnosed with panic anxiety disorder. I had a lot of anxiety for a couple of months and I had to go on medication and learn breathing exercises etc. I workout on a regular basis now and it helps to keep the anxiety at bay. I don't want to go back to feeling like that again it was pretty awful.

Yes, I have experienced panic attacks. In fact, I have had a couple quite recently. I am worried about a bunch of things and somebody got me upset. I ended up in a panic attack. It is very painful as I feel it in my chest. I also have trouble breathing and talking. I hate panic attacks and I wish I didn't react that way.

I guess you can say that Panic Attacks are the same thing as a Anxiety Attack. Its not easy to go through and its hard to get through as well. Its like not being able to breath at all and you just have to know how to calm yourself down and just pretty much lay down and if i do that i usually can fall asleep and in the morning i wake up like nothing even happened. I do of course have medicine that does take care of it but the medicine isnt fun to take as it puts you right to sleep and i guess thats what the doctors want you to do so you can wake up and be calmed again.

I was under severe stress several times in my life. When I went to see the doctor and tell him how I was feeling, he put me on a heart monitor for 3 days. We finally realized it was not my heart but I was having anxiety attacks for all I had been through in my life. Especially in the last few years. I am on the lightest dose of Xnax .025. I thought I could go off it and tried it a few months ago but I felt the anxiety come back. Its a really crazy feeling, so if that one little pill makes me not have those and feel better I take it. hope your wife feels better under her medication.
