What are your views on Luciferianism? Mind you, don't read the question and jump to conclusions of Satanism and devil worshiping. It's a valid view people have of Lucifer. And please don't comment if you don't have any idea what you are talking about. You can say what the Bible says is true and that's all the information we need but then it gets into if the Bible is true or not. So I want to stay out of that sticky area.

To me Lucifarians are people who have made a "religion" of "rooting for the underdog" and rebellion for the sake of rebellion. There is also a form of "victim = respect" at play. They see Lucifer as the ultimate victim. The one creation of a forgiving God who was refused that forgiveness. They wonder why Lucifer isn't eligible for the same forgiveness that so many other "rebels" are eligible for. Most are atheists, so they don't actually believe there is a god or a Lucifer. However, the imagery is more important than any actual history. Here's a being that serves as an icon of the hedonistic lifestyle the Lucifarian prefers.

The only thing I've read about this idea, is that Lucifer was the enlightener.. that he "enlightened Eve" in the original garden, and therefor enlightened mankind, setting them free.. I also read in this research at the time, that some teach he was from a race (e.t's!) of serpent like ones (kind of like the big eyed images of e.t's that were popular a while back)... and they in turn came from a more ancient race (e.t's) that are dragon like ones.. -[In the bible, it is the dragon that makes war with God and against people, especially in the Book of Revelation.. and of course christians understand this to be Lucifer.. the first rational being who had the first wayward/rebel thought which evolved into life as we presently know it..

As far as a viable religion, Luciferianism is not very well defined as few will claim to still believe. It started as a rebellious movement against the evils of the church, basically saying Lucifer, as "Light Bringer", was all about helping humanity, whereas God was all about absolute obedience. The poor depiction of women in the Bible led many women into the early Luciferian movement and several early members of the pre-scientific community that led to the Renassaince were enticed by the concept of "seeking knowledge" in contrast to the church's attempts to keep people in the dark. In this light, I must say I would be drawn to their philosophy as well. I have often thought of studying the Bible from Satan's POV, or detailing what a true "anti-Christ" would be given the understanding of Christ in a fair and balanced assessment. Living in a Judeo-Christian area, however, this is about as popular as burning Bibles. And given my religious orientation divorced from those ancient documents, I really see no point.
