Did Someone Say PRAYER Works?

Seriously, this is about the Best post I can post right now and wanted to share the information before I can't find time to post it due to a very busy upcoming weekend. Many of you are VERY familiar with the situation with my job, and the Idiot of a Boss I have, and how he has been unwilling to work with me no matter what, and even threatening to Write me up for having Doctors notes even saying I needed all Fridays off due to my leg until it is healed to give it time to heal, etc. He was seeming to fight everything TOOTH and nail to where it was really raising my Blood Pressure and overall not making things good for me at all. As many of you are aware I filed discrimination charges with the Diabetes Association and even turned in an EEOC claim, etc. I was totally stressed and knew no where really to turn but was feeling confident somehow everything would somehow work out by today. Today is Friday by the way, the Friday that my Boss was saying I could NEVER have off as it was not fair to everyone else. So today I call him to let him know I still cannot work on Fridays until my leg is healed. I was a little nervous talking to him especially on the phone after the way he had been treating me lately in person, but knew I was a little safer due to not being there in person as well. I expected to have him say than I have no choice to write you up, and be adamant about it as well. Instead he acted like it was no Big issue, asked why I had filed the discrimination paperwork and then acted nice and listened to what I had to say as well. We even came up with an idea I had just thought of and said something to Rod well, wish he could give my Fridays off somehow. This is actually what he is doing as of next week is switching my Schedule to where I will have either Thursday-Friday off or Friday-Saturday off. I hope it is the Friday-Saturday off and prayed that way but we shall see. But so far this is a better report, and goes to show that things happen when you take action and Pray. So God is Great and we shall see what happens from here. ~~TINA~~

Well for now there is some solvance to this issue. I did not get my Vacation pay for the 2nd as I was needing, and I also requested Vacation pay for today and will see if I get it. I also asked for my raise due to me, etc. But I think my new days off starting this week are Thursday and Friday so we will see if things can get better from here, but if it does this was a Good thing for sure.

I'm glad he is finally being reasonable. Maybe you should have filed charges against him a long time ago! It would still be good if you could find something else though, even if he seems to have come around.

Well, personally it would not have been advisable for me to file much of a complaint much earlier as there was not enough to complain about. When the medical issues started being not taken as serious then this became serious. He was not wanting to believe any of my notes, and thinking I was making a lot of this up even with all the stuff my Doctors were sending and faxing in. Truly it has probably opened up his eyes to a lot of things now.

I never really thought that it would have to come to this, but many times it does take more than you think. I am waiting to see when I get paid Wednesday just how much of results I will see from this, and what the final outcome needs to be. There are still a few shaky loose ends and I need to make sure everything continues to be and stay kosher from here.

hi tina it sounds like prayer and sticking to it have began to make your boss more of a human being too.So I am hoping you do get Fridays and Saturdays off to care for your wound on your leg. Surely the man has heard of diabetic problems like you have. I am glad he is behaving better., I hope it all goes great now and you can get your leg really healed. I know being a diabetic how slow everything heals on us. I will keep praying and hoping things really get great for you. action and prayer really do work.

My new days off are now Thursday and Friday. He gave Friday and Saturdays off to someone with less Senority than me by a yr. but she has been on Swing the whole time so she said that that was the Senority that counted and tried rubbing it in my face which I guess is just her. But I now have Fridays off which is good. Since I got a New skin graft done it would have been nice to have Saturday off after they did this last one, but I did not have to be to work until 4 so that was a little relief.

I tend to separate both things. Although I believe in the power of prayer, specially of collective prayer as it unleashes a great amount of possitive energy, I also think that some things work because you fight for your rights (or for the rights of others). I am not so sure that your meeting would have had such happy ending if you hadnĀ“t filed your complaint.

Well yes, I am sure a lot of the things that have happened have been due to my making the complaint, but at the same time for things to work completely to where there is nothing more being said and my schedule to be changed, etc. it is god. There were many people praying so it was a lot of collective prayer besides mine, and there are still a few issues waiting to see if they are completely fixed yet... so only time can tell and Prayer.

God IS certainly great and I'm pleased for you Tina. You acted and it's worked. As for Mum, she's not happy in the new place but - as she pointed out "it's early days" but she is adamant about one thing. She DOES NOT want to clean for 2 hours a day. This is something that has been sprung upon her at the last minute and she's not going to go along with it. You and Mum can fight together. Each can bring the other luck, I'm sure.

Well since I posted this things are interesting at work still, but a little more calmer in this respect. Did not get my Vacation pay for one of the days though, and waiting to see if there is an adjustment, etc. on my next paycheck. But my boss has moved around my days off, so it hopefully is getting better til something better comes along.

Well, we will see in just a couple of hrs. when I go to work whether things have played into my favor or not, or whether I am Glad I have made all these complaints, etc. as well. There is so much game playing, etc. going on anymore where I work that it really makes me begin to wonder what is really going on. There are people with No medical issues that can be late, miss a day, etc. and nothing is ever said to where nothing sometimes seems to ever be right for me.

That is great to hear! He might have re evaluated his reaction to you when you filed the complaint and realized he was not treating you fairly. He may have also thought things through and accepted your request and knew you ment business once the report came to his attention. Sometimes people tend to get all worked up over an issue thats not really to the point of whats getting to him. Sounds like he had some reflection time. And it was to your benefit! And I am sure that the prayer had a part in softening his heart on this issue.

Well, today is the start of seeing if these complaints really meant anything or whether this is just something he will tend to forget about and say something. I have done all the paperwork and footwork that I need to do, and requested my Vacation day he forgot to pay me for, and for the other Vacation day and for the pay raise due to me, and will see where this ends up. If none of this is on my pay check today I will be glad that I have filed and will make sure that more of this is in the original complaint as well. I wish this could all be over, and a Better job could be found from here really soon.

Prayers gave you the strength of your convictions, plus you knew you were right. It was easier for him to be nice over the phone, because no one was a witness. He also knows you mean business so he is going to comply with the law. I hope you get that other job, though.

Well, since I started this disucssion he has continued to be nice to me. He has officially even switched my days off to Thursday Friday but has promised someone else the Friday Saturday that he once mentioned to me. The person getting it has less Seniority than me but I am finding out Senority means nothing where I work. As for another job, nothing yet. Have had a couple interviews since I started this discussion.

There is NO WAY I would drop the filing as if anything it will continue to wake them up and hopefully protect a lot of the others from having some of these same things happen to them when they have Medical issues as well. It has been nice knowing things will be quieter now, and I got my days off moved around to fit with the Doctors orders. Just wishing the pay raise would happen as well. Guess I will have to make mention of it in my complaint.

I think that being proactive in all of this has helped you alot. I the claim you filed with the EEOC opened his eyes and made him realize some things. I couldn't see why he couldn't change your schedule for ages now. And he is just now seeing this? Not a very with it boss if you ask me. Glad it is working out.

Well, there are still some issues as I posted with the discussion that I started Yesterday that I need to check on and see what rights I have from here, plus see how my leg looks as today it is looking red and hot so hoping I have not developed another Infection. So the Beat goes on and just continue to hope for the Best.

I think he knew all along, but didn't feel the need to act on her behalf all this time, until he found out she couldn't be bullied. She fought back and he maybe thinks it is easier now to work with her than to be sued. I hope it continues that she will stand up for herself and allow herself to get better.

That is great news!! I think the combination of prayer and filing a complaint fixed it all right up for you! lol! I am so glad that he became more reasonable about the whole situation. Evidently he knows how serious it is to have a complaint filed with EEOC! Way to go - we have to stand up for ourselves these days - if we don't we get run over! Good job my friend!! (but I'll keep praying anyway! )

Well we will see if things are fixed good or not. As far as I know starting next week at work my days off have been changed to Thursday and Friday but I am not sure if anyone else has had their hrs. and times switched around or do they now have 3 people scheduled off for Fridays? But this is a start. I did not have last Friday on my Pay Check for a Vacation Day pay, and requested today for Vacation pay as well as making up for that, plus I was due my raise and curious to see what happens from here. Because the warning they got was before they are contacted officially and we shall see if I am regretting or Glad I made the decision to say something more from here.

Wow! Prayer is really the most powerful one could ever resort to. MOst people would only pay as a last resort and at desperate moments. We should remember that's the first thing we need to do in all situation as God always has an answer. I'm glad to hear one of your answered prayers. Hoping to hear more good news soon.

I'm glad things are getting better for you! Hopefully it continues.Sometimes that's what it takes. My 10 year old has the Philosophy that if someone keeps trying to make your life miserable to hit them. I tell him not too and recently a kid keep teasing him and annoying him so he hit him and he said the kids stopped doing it, He said that the kid even wants to be his friend now and he is his friend now. I don't get into my kids fighting and encourage not too but he does anyways and his philosophy does seem to work for him even though I don't want to encourage it since he can get into trouble or hurt someone too much!

There are many times I would LOVE to hit people that are offensive to me, and make them realize I am not playing, and that my feelings do get hurt, but many times in our adult life you have to find other ways to hurt them where it hurts and make them realize you mean business. There are still a couple of issues I am waiting to see if they have been worked out, and if not make sure they are in the official complaints, but if they are continue to play it by ear, and hope for the Best from here.

Sounds like he finally woke up to the trouble he could be in! Yes, prayers help but God helps those who help themselves and you got on the ball and did what you should. That's when He steps in. I'm so glad to hear things are improving--now DON'T let up! Don't let him sweet talk you into withdrawing any complaints. I'm not saying this to be vindictive but if you back down he'll know he has some new tricks to play and manipulate people with while not adhering to the law.

He did ask me why I filed the complaint, but never did try to get my to change it in any way. I think it has woke him up to a few things though, and he has switched my schedule to where I have Thursday and Fridays off now. I am still waiting to see if I will ever get my raise, and still playing things cautious but know I have a little more backing now than I used too.

Often it only takes an action of standing up for yourself to allow management to realize that you are an individual and are willing to go through the law to get your side heard. Management hates anything that will cost them money or even inconvience. What you did was stay strong and should that you were willing to cause them both inconvience and money. Those are the magic words and actions. Blessing

Well it has worked in some ways. We will see what happens when they get the notice back now saying they also are not wanting to give me my DUE raise. I reminded in a letter again, and no raise. This is 2 checks in a row, and also found out someone else is making the same as me who has only been there 3 yrs. So I feel it is time to get the $12 which they pay everyone else after 5 yrs. Might actually wake up my Boss to where he realizes some people are paying attention.

Hi Tina, That is great news. I'm glad to hear it. I was sort of afraid it would go badly for you, just for the fact of an impending law suit or whatever. Most bosses don't like being pushed into a corner. I'm glad that it turned out the way it did, and hope it continues to. I do believe in prayer... it might have had more to do that you were assertive and didn't back down, but we always attribute all things good to God. I'm glad he was nice to you too. Hope it continues.

Well so far it seems like things are going better. Still wish I would get my raise that I asked for in writing, and need to call and make sure that is in the complaint and see what happens from there. If anything, I think it will open his eyes a little more to be more understanding with Health problems and Diabetic issues and maybe think twice before reacting like this again, especially as long as I continue to work there.

Prayer changes many things. I have to a story to tell on how powerful prayer is. It was October 2009 when my sister was brought to the hospital because she was raped by four minor people. I was far from my home place at that time because I was studying in the city. I was giving out tracts to the different places of the city, and suddenly my cell phone rung. It's a text message from my older sister. she told me what happen to my younger sister. I was shocked with the news, and can't believe it. I didn't reply the text message. I just cried so much. This can't be, I exclaimed! I talked to my pastor with his wife. I told them what happen and they told them I need to go home to our province to visit my sister in the hospital. So, I did! When I reach the hospital, the room where my sister lied, I really cried bitterly. I just can't believed that she didn't know me anymore. She refused to talk to me, she just stare at me. She can't even talk. She's in trauma. I keep on praying to God to heal her, and also to comfort my family. After 3 days of stay in the hospital, I need to go to the city again because I still have classes. When I reached in the city where I currently lived, I just keep on praying day and night for my sister. It's the first week of November, I prayed to God that I don't want to received any material gift on my birthday on the 12th of November, all I want is a message from my family that my sister will be going home on that day. It's November 12 already, I went to church for our prayer meeting. It's 9pm already, still i didn't received a text message from them. I went home, I'm about to lose hope, but at 10pm, I received a text message, my sister text me that my sister had discharge order already and they can go home on the morrow. When I read it, I really cried because GOD ANSWERED MY PRAYER ON THE DAY THAT I TOLD HIM. On that birthday also, I never received any gifts. But I am so thankful to my God for letting me experience miracle. I never forget it. I always claim to this promise of God when he says in the Bible, Call Unto me and I will answer thee and will shew thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not. Jeremiah 33:3

Thanks for sharing this one, and I do believe in God's time everything Good does happen. I know God promised me a house by my Birthday 2 yrs. ago, and the offer for the house we are in was accepted on my Birthday. So I have never given up Faith and promise and trusting in god for great things. I know in his time all things will happen and everything will be OK.
