Oh no! U am watching Dr Oz and he is exposing that arsenic is being sent from other countries, such as China, Argentina. All the apples that are grown are sprayed with arsenic. Then only a small percent of 2% are actually required to be checked for approval to pass to our country. This can then effect our bodies in harmful ways. Such as leading to cancers and potentially even cancer in the lungs. The scary part is that apple juice is a very popular drink that is served to our children. It is portrayed as a drink that actually promotes a healthy brain and makes our children smart, but it can actually take away from them!!

This kind of information needs to be taken in context. There are two ways in which arsenic may occur in apple juice: there are organic and inorganic compounds of arsenic and it is the inorganic compounds which are dangerous. The FDA has already replied to the findings of the documentary and it would be as well to read what they have said. A summary is here: http://news.sympatico.ctv.ca/home/arsenic_in_apple_juice_dr_oz_and_fda_square_off/1575b7fc

hi owlwings from what I read in the link you gave us there is some arsenic but in such tiny amounts I would not think it would harm anyone unless they were to drink it by the quart every day. I have read that organic arsenic shows up a l ot but does not really do any harm.As for myself I cannot stand most brands of apple juice so I turn to orange juice myself. I doubt if theres any arsenic in orange juice. lol lol

Some children would drink this amount maybe. And possibly more. I know its not recommended but I have seen parents giving their babies like a full bottle of it. It just makes me wonder if this is a link to some of the medical mysteries that happen to people. I was alarmed at the volume of some specific brands, such as Juicy Juice, because this is the only type of juice that people getting subsidized vouchers as help to have some of the main staples for their children.

I think this is another one of those "witch hunts" for two reasons. One is that there is a small amount of arsenic in many things that we consume without harm. Dairy, meat, poultry, fish and grains all contribute arsenic to an extent. Secondly, Dr Oz may be simply following the lead of other doctors as they "reveal" dangers that are lurking in our environment everywhere. I am certainly not for agribusiness nor am I for GMOs or monoculture and so on, but we have to use common sense as to where to draw the line. Not everything is going to kill us or our children.

I would not be surprised by this at all. Even here in the US, several foods are grown with chemicals that are not fit for human consumption. Some popular dyes used in food coloring are known cancer causing agents. The companies using these dangerous chemicals are aware of their danger, so is the FDA; but they seem not care whether we live or die. Most cases of cancer today are caused by chemical we eat in foods or breathe in the air. I believe the best each of us can do is to make sure we strengthen the immune system by eating healthy, especially beefing up on fruits and vegetables with high alkaline content, seeing cancer cannot thrive in an alkaline environment.
